We went here for the wedding of our son. It is a very pretty campground with a nice lodge. The bathhouses seem to be nice as well. We rented a cabin that sleeps 8 for the weekend. We looked online and saw that the cabins had bunk beds and that you needed to bring your own linens, towels, ect. We were told by the brides parents that they gave a discount for wedding party, well they don't!!! We even told them we were the grooms parents, but that did not matter to them. We had 7 people staying in this cabin that sleeps 8, including a 76 year old grandmother who just finished chemo, and a 8 month pregnant woman. The living room had "one" chair. Yes, one chair for 8 people. The only picture in the living room was a framed NO Smoking or pets sign. The beds are all bunk beds and some of them are short, very short. No dimensions were given online. The mattresses are about 3 inches think and basically a cot mattress and about 15 years old, or at least look that old. they are in terrible shape (I have attached pictures to see). You can see the foam. It was the first time I thought I was going to get bed bugs. When you lay on the mattresses you sink right to the board, and basically sleep on a board all night. By the second night, we had to send the grandmother and pregnant woman to a hotel. I have had more comfortable beds at a church camp. The hot water heater in the bathroom does not hold enough hot water for one person to get shower. The kitchen was suppose to have 8 servings of everything and only had 4 coffee cups and others supplies were lacking as well. So one chair and 8 terrible beds made for a very uncomfortable weekend. All this for the low price of $150/night. I have stayed in fully furnished cabins for that price or less. Also, as you walk around the campground there are "NO" signs everywhere giving it a very unfriendly feel. I was afraid to walk as I might get in trouble.
I let management know how we felt and asked for a partial refund due to the lack of sleep on the nasty beds and they told me "NO." They like that word. They told me I could see online the sleeping situation and the size of the beds and i could have called and asked any questions. Well, funny thing is they don't post a picture of their nasty beds on their website so you can see how bad of shape they are in. I did call and ask about several things, and they were never real friendly and once they were suppose to call me back and give me an answer and never did. Not the friendliest staff around.
On the plus side the lodge is a nice place to have a...
Read moreStay away from this campground. I made a phone reservation more than 3 weeks in advance on a Sunday. They didn't have the weekend I asked for available, so I booked the following weekend. 5 days later, they called me to ask if I had made a reservation with them, Then they asked me what size my camper was, then asked me what date I resquested, Then proceeded to tell me that they made a mistake and didn't have a site available, But they were nice enough to offer me a "Full refund" LOL ummm it was your mistake! You should of offered a discount if I would book another date. Three hours later they call me back again needing my credit card number again, because they couldn't get my refund to go through. They had no problem when charging my card! Wow, These people shouldn't even own a kool-aid stand.
UPDATE ! After reading the response from the owner, I'm going to give them another chance in the 2021 camping season. I appreciate the fact that instead of making excuses, He is striving to make things better. This is the type of businesses that I enjoy doing business with.... I will update my review after our visit next year. Thanks again for reaching out with...
Read moreMy friend and I went and stayed the staff wasnt snobby at all, they were very helpful and accommodated all our needs and wants. We had our own lot even while primitive camping so we had a fire ring, picnic table, we had an electricity box, right on the lake in front right next to the bath house/bathroom. We had a great time adventuring all over the resort, it was very clean and beautiful out there. We had the best relaxing time! This is coming from two younger women. Its a great place to get away at. If you need anything you can drive 10mins up the road to New Philadelphia so you arent far from everything. A lot to do with children if you have any. It's for Tent camping, RV, Mini cabins, large cabins, cottages. They have a swimming area, slides, paddle boats, zip lining (which was down due to covid at our time of stay) We got to meet the owner he was a great man nice sense of humor and very friendly. He took the time out of his day to take a couple pictures of us. I'd suggest this place to anyone. If you're into hiking there's a few trails near about 3 miles or so away well worth it. I'll...
