Do NOT stay at this place. Just take my word. My husband and myself thought it would be a decent place to stay when passing through due to the mostly good reviews and photos. However, 1) there was a bunch of black stuff on the shower floor (which I found out later was spilled paint), 2) the curtains in the room were literally tacked up; it looked like a child hung them up 3) our room was boiling even though we had the AC on 62 & 4) the woman at the front desk was walking around barefoot which is not a good look imo. We tried to relax and just make it through the night but we felt so unsettled we literally decided to leave at 12am and drive to a better hotel with availability in Torrington. I called in the morning and tried to politely tell the woman on the phone about our experience and asked if we would be able to get a refund and she refused and proceeded to tell me "all the reviews online talk about how cleanly we are" and she didn't want to hear me out one bit. Frustrating but the best I can do is encourage anyone not...
Read moreLoved staying at this boutique hotel. Husband and wife run hotel with charm and friendliness. Room was super clean. It is an old hotel that is in the process of being updated but I kinda liked the old stuff. We stayed here while we visited Custer State park for a couple of days. Location was great for us. I personally was impressed with the way they did breakfast. Rather than a buffet type selection that would result in a lot of waste, there were individually wrapped, high quality breakfast burritos & breakfast sandwiches. Also individually wrapped Belgium waffles of very high quality with packages of REAL maple syrup to go with them. Really good coffee and individual orange juice bottles. This impressed me because of the attention to cleanliness and lack of waste. I think this is a good practice in regards to food safety. On this road trip we choose to forgo chain hotels and try some locally owned hotels, let me say this place did not disappoint. Thanks again for...
Read moreThe SUNDOWNER INN was the MOST Friendliest, Fabulous and Cleanest motel that we have stayed at in many years. Scott and his lovely wife Jacinta made you feel right at home as soon as you walked in the door. The breakfast were so good with all the little extras they had on the menu. Scott even made a special hot homemade breakfast on Saturday morning and insisted we being our family that lives in Newcastle. The coffee was great, something my wife and I looked forward to each morning. The rooms were sparkling clean and inviting. Oh yes, Jessie that works at the Inn was so polite and always had a smile. Then their cat greeted the guests each morning and would even give you a "high five". We can't say enough about our enjoyable time at the Sundowner Inn but we will certainly stay there each time we go to visit our kids and grandkids. Scott and Jacinta, THANK YOU AGAIN for the friendship we developed with you both. Rick and Marian Smith -...
