This is the most awful experience. This hotel is run like a support group for whomever the manager decides to help out, including free rooms, feeding the homeless before paying guests, and many other inappropriate things. The one that really is very hurtful, besides being told, as a paying guests, that the homeless man who got his food packaged up before the breakfast bar was suppose to close down, yes, that man my children were suppose to reach into his mixed bag of food - that belongs in the trash! But the manager admitted she lets her employees take the food, and the homeless, no matter what the law is about banquet style food. But no, my children weren't reaching in that bag to take food from a homeless man. But that's what the manager thought should happen. Meanwhile, when I reported this theft ( yes taking food from a breakfast bar that is suppose to be open a set number or hours, and closing down early to give the food away - is theft- so when i reported this, and the front desk agent for manipulative sales practices ( she kept telling me I could get a discount once the manager reviewed the request)...well she lied. The moment the front desk clerk rang me up, there was never going to be another discount. Well, I turned her in and guess what that front desk clerk did? She waited until me and my children went down to the pool ( dirty and even though it tested -and was LOW on chemicals it wasn't shut down by the city which I will remember - dirty pool water got my son sick. Anyway, I got to the pool ( being watch under camera by the front desk clerk - and suddenly I got a new Facebook friend request - FROM THE FRONT DESK CLERK! I IMMEDIATELY took my children and left the pool area and went to our room. I've never felt such a violation of privacy in my life! This clerk tooky personal information and used it how they saw for to search me down online and my social media accounts and I have the proof. After telling the manager, she called me a liar. After checking out, she ran screaming into the parking lot my name over and over - until I turned around and answered her. She demanded I show her my proof of a clear violation of company and the law of what her employee did - and I showed her the screenshots and she said - do what you will. So I called the Newport economics center to find the owners of the cobblestone to let them know, and the lady at the Newport depot said she knew one of them and would tell them, and tooky number. I heard nothing. After waiting a week, I called the GM a Mr. Dillion whom listened to me and said he would call me back and never did. He must be okay with this treatment. This is the most unprofessional hotel I've ever been to. When I check into a hotel- that I am safe and secure. My town was hit by an F4 tornado - many towns around me were and this hotel should have been a beacon in this community for locals - especially while the hotel was reaping the benefits of our disasters with line men and electrician and all the surveyors here - but the way this hotel is run, it's a curse to Newport. Looks nice on the outside, but inside smells of mold and is full of in house rot.

Check in was super fast and friendly. We arrived about 2 am and just wanted to sleep after a long haul. As soon as you walked in the room it was a very humid, moldy smell. I was too tired to complain until we got in bed. It was so humid the entire bedding was full of moisture. I called the front desk and they gave me another room that was a lot better. It was still humid but at least the bed was dry. Front desk explained that the area does get very humid. This was in September. When we checked out I noticed they had dehumidifiers going in the hall (as pictured). The whole building needs a dehumidifier. The place is nice and good service but I won’t be stopping in the area again due to the horrendous humidity.

This is a very clean, organized, WELL managed hotel with an amazing staff. Everyone was upbeat, the beds were comfy and the breakfast with a bar was amazing. I will definitely be a repeat customer!!

The room at this hotel was very nice but not the one we reserved. More than two weeks prior to our arriving at the hotel, we had reserved a ground floor (due to health issues) king room . We understand completely that due to weather issues after we reserved our room, the hotel had filled up with people who had to leave their flooded homes. However, the staff didn't bother to call and tell us that our reserved room was no longer available. Instead when we arrived, we were put into a third floor room. Then when we went to check out, we were charged for a room UPGRADE which we did NOT request; we were charged for the use of in room safe, which we did NOT use; and on top of that, we were charged City Tax, Tourism Tax, City Lodging, County Tax, and State Tax multiple times. When we questioned the taxes, Jessica responded that it was because we had stayed multiple nights, when in fact, the Invoice clearly showed only one night stay. As for the UPGRADE she said it was because we got a suite instead of the room we originally requested. We reminded her that we did NOT request a suite and that our requested room was unavailable when we arrived. After several minutes of arguing with her, she finally removed the Room Upgrade fee but still charged us $11 more for the room than was previously quoted to us. Then her excuse for the multiple taxes was "well that's just the way they do it and I can't change it" which in the end, and after our insistence, she did finally agree to remove the duplicate tax charges. This hotel is very clean and comfortable, but the counter staff does not make it worth going back to. We will go out of our way to avoid this hotel in the future. And we will not recommend it to anyone due to the rude...

Looks good but the lakeside inn is better ||Rotten management and staff ||You're personal information isn't personal here, and they don't care. If you feel okay with the front desk clerk, you've never met on your life, sending you a friend request, while you and your kids are in the pool - this is the place for you! |If you like dirty pools that get kids with low immune systems - go for a swim, this is the place for you.|If you like poop all over, beer bottles ( they sell it), if you like to hear tornado sirens going off 2 hours before the kitchen closes for pizza but are told you have to drive in the weather to fed your family instead because staff decided they just didn't want to keep it open - this is the place for you. |If you like to have homeless eat your breakfast - this is the place for you. |If you like your concerns to be aired in public while management calls you a liar, and makes your oxygen bound mom cry while tooth cleaning ladies are also laughing at her- this is the place for you. |. ||I honestly have never stayed at such a seedy, terribly run hotel. I waited almost 1 month for a call back - and no one called. ||If you like to be treated terribly while paying top dollar - this is the place for you! ||I recommend lakeside inn - fully renovated and the...
