I can't begin to describe what an amazing experience we had at this RV Resort, from the second we arrived we were treated like friends rather than just another guest. The Resort was absolutely beautiful and well manicured, the facilities were top notch and kept spotless from the pool to the showers and clubhouse. Kelly the Owner was outstanding as well as the other staff, Kelly checked on us every day a few times a day to make sure we were settled in and if we needed anything. During our stay we unfortunately experienced a mechanical failure with our tow vehicle, this happened during a holiday weekend and what would have otherwise ruined our trip Kelly made sure that it didn't, when I say he went above and beyond that would be an understatement. Our truck needed a new rear differential and upon locating one in Knoxville an hour and a half away Kelly without hesitation threw me the keys to his truck and off I went to collect the part, he set up an appointment for us to have the part installed and even played Chauffeur driving the others in our party to Gatlinburg so that they could shop and enjoy the day while I tended to getting the vehicle repaired. We ended up staying an additional night due to the vehicle repairs and wished we could have stayed longer. Even on the trip back home to Florida Kelly called us to make sure we were okay. If you are reading this review and thinking about where to stay in Gatlinburg LOOK NO FURTHER this is the spot you want. I could go on and on but I think you get the point! When we return in the winter to TN, Smokey Mountain Premier RV Resort will be our destination. Thank you again to the SMPRV staff for the outstanding service and we look forward to seeing our...
Read more33' 5th wheel, 4 day stay. upon arrival, was greeted by the most friendly staff - that alone blew me away. super great energy as soon as i walked into the camp store. checked in, was given the grounds rundown, a coozi, a goodie bag for our our pups and 2 fresh baked cookies! Jordan showed us to our site, was easy to navigate the surprisingly large campground, arrived at site 118. Jordan gave us a few super helpful pointers on nearby hiking trails (get out there early!) and we got settled in. gravel site, super spacious as promised when booked. the views were phenomenal, and weather permitting, the sunsets were absolutely stunning. not much of a place to walk dogs around to expel energy but we made it work, the dog park wasn't the best but we ended up going to a local dog park to let ours run and explore. can't speak for the bathhouse or showers. did use the laundry facilities, convienent but please be sure to have your quarters or do laundry while camp store is open to get quarters. trash pickup was great, set outside between 7-7pm and one of the staff members roll up in a golf cart to whisk it away (before any bears can get to it!) this is an awesome place to stay, amongst all the campground competition - and there is a LOT, but glad we chose this one. convenience to Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge without being in the middle of allll the touristy attractions. even have a trail with direct access to the Great Smoky National Park right from the campground! will definitely be back, still more to explore. thank you KOA...
Read moreThe campground is on a side of a mountain, heavily wooded so that there are no views. However, the sites are level and well-maintained. Although the sites are close together, the owners have allowed trees and vegetation to grow between the sites which gives the illusion of privacy. Check-in was fast and effecient and we had help to locate our site and position our RV. Firewood is $7.50 for ten sticks of pretty good wood. Premier sites have concrete patios and nice outdoor furniture. There is a pool which is void of people most of the time. We have big dogs so the best part of the campground is the seldom-traveled gravel road behind the campground where we walk our dogs. The GSMNP is not dog-friendly and it appears much of Eastern Tennessee is not either so we had to travel 30-45 minutes to places to do anything with the dogs. This soured our trip somewhat. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are basically Myrtle Beach in the mountains and does not hold much excitement for us. Lots of traffic congestion. There are numerous campgrounds between this campground and Gatlinburg and from the looks of it, this campground is pretty average while others sat on creeks or rivers which would have been nice. We won't be back because we were disappointed in the area altogether. The campground itself holds no special attraction other than it is well maintained and has great wifi for a campground. No need to bring kayaks or bikes here unless you are a professional at one or the other and willing to travel for...
