Rooms are very clean although a bit dated, can use new bed mattresses as they’re a bit springy and uncomfortable. I mostly love staying here because of the owners and how friendly they are and well maintained the property is. We stayed in a high level townhouse like room. So two bedrooms, two bathrooms and you had a back deck that overlooks the creek. We absolutely love sitting out there and enjoying the peacefulness of the creek running.. We have been staying here since we stumbled upon this place about six or more years ago. It’s definitely become a favorite out of the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg in pigeon Forge and if you’re a person who doesn’t like driving up into the mountains, it’s a great place to stay These rooms are equipped with full kitchens and although they have the awkward spa tub in certain rooms, I don’t have to worry about bugs when I sleep here. I did notice Lauren our stay this week that the owners are updating the property. Hopefully they’ll update some of the furnishings and bed mattresses. I will say sometimes the room smells musty, but I figured it’s due to the moisture from the creek out back . We always have great water, pressure and hot water, air conditioning and heat work great and in the summer we love the pool is open pretty late. I do, however, wish they had a room or two that was pet friendly. I would love to be able to bring my well-behaved dog with me or my ferret.❤️ They also do have a laundry area on the grounds. There are a short drive to the national forest where you can enjoy hiking and picnic areas or just adventure into the forest and they’re about a 30 minute drive to Gatlinburg. Right down the road you have some local markets and restaurants there’s a Dollar General nearby and if you care to venture a little bit further, there is a Apple farm that makes wonderful deep-fried apple pies and my most favorite thing to do is to stop in the local book and coffee shop.
I mostly choose to stay here though because of the owners you won’t Find more welcoming, helpful people you can tell them glad to have you. The rooms are affordable and...
Read moreI used this place as a shuttle for a backpacking getaway maybe 12 years ago. I don't think it was Nina but... a sister? that rode up to Newfound Gap with me where I got out. She drove my car back to the motel and picked my up at Big Creek a few days later. Worked flawlessly.
Another reviewer mentioned a hot tub, yeah, felt nice, especially about my hike.
Unrelated to the review but since I'm remembering... when we go to Newfound Gap and it was time to get my pack out of my trunk, my lower back was hurting so badly I felt like asking the lady to get it out of the trunk for me. But I didn't, I wanted the trip so badly, and didn't want to be seen as a total idiot starting out a backpack trip like that.
Wow, just remembered, that was probably closer to 14 years ago. Slept at Ice Water Spring the first night. Played at Charlies Bunion the next morning. Stayed at Peck's Corner that night... I think. Next day I got to Tricorner Knob early, did laundry, relaxed, nice day, then I found out the Twin Towers had been flown into by planes and collapsed that morning. Darn cell phones are a...
Read moreOne stay here and you'll definately be back again and again. My husband and I found this gem 4 years ago and immediately chose to became a timeshare owner. We just got back from a long weekend with our youngest daughter and her family and once again we had an amazing time. None of us wanted to leave. The rooms are so clean, each unit has all the necessities and the surroundings couldn't be nicer. The pool as well as the grounds are cleaned and checked daily, the landscaping is so well maintained. The Laurel Springs run along the back and a trail outback is nice for taking a stroll, there's a nice little pond for fishing, as well as basketball, cornhole, and plenty yard for any other games you may enjoy. Grills are also set up should you want to grill out. Thank you Alan and Aleshia for all your hard work so we always have such a nice vacation to look forward to. We plan to see you both again next month!!! Carl and Karel...
