I only stayed here overnight on a highway trip. I was very irritated and upset that the total cost was almost $50 a night for electric only site. On top of that, it appeared reasonably priced when "advertised" at $30 a night. The other $20 was in fees at checkout and a $9 entrance fee to enter the park AFTER I had already paid my site fee and upon arrival at the park. It is a state government properrty....they should only charge one price that includes everything. This is what happens in red states!!! They say they are cutting taxes but the then charge you more and hide it. Deceitful. The Park itself I can't speak to as I arrived after dark and left at daylight...still upset...
   Read moreThe CAMPGROUND is currently undergoing renovations. Their water supply and dump station are now inconveniently 2 miles away from the campground within the park. Unfortunately, when we booked we were not informed of this or that the water fill up is back where we pulled in. If you are RV camping here, you need to fill water on the way in. Whomever came up with the makeshift dump-station did a terrible job. They either don't RV or don't understand gravity and hook ups. The park itself was huge. Lots of trails. Lots of bodies of water to fish. We used it as a launch pad so we can stay away from Gary, IN and Chicago, IL but be close enough...
   Read moreI've been going to Potato Creek since I was a kid, and now I'm lucky enough to take my kids there. We camp every summer and have a blast. The kids love the park, the beach and just riding around on their bikes and making new friends. Us parents enjoy the down time and relaxing, it's really peaceful and quiet at Potato Creek.
