Because leaving the neighborhood is still a whole adventure… It’s been on our hearts to own a Bed & Breakfast some day. My wife & I love to host/serve others and create a space where as soon as people walk in, they feel a peaceful presence. A cozy, safe and comfortable atmosphere to unplug. Every year in December we go on a little retreat to do just that “unplug” from the outside world, to spend quality time and talk about our goals for 2022. Recently we went to Shady Oaks Farm Bed and Breakfast @shadyoaksfarmbnb where we met Jeff and Melanie “the Inn keepers” is what they called themselves (owners) of this beautiful hidden Gem. They were so welcoming and went above and beyond making us feel right at home with special details. They shared with us their story of this beautiful historic home and planted an inspiring seed into our soul🥰. Thankful for the people that I believe are sent into our lives for many reasons, and they definitely were sent to spark a dream in our hearts that we thought had died. Such a lovely place, their mission and family! As small business owners like ourselves, we love to support small businesses. They take reservations for the entire house for family gatherings or a private suite. Check them out…We recommend them. #goals #shadyoaksfarmbnb

Beautiful and tranquil setting to relax and get away from it all. We had a two night stay while exploring waterfalls nearby and including Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Our friendly hosts welcomed us upon arrival. Look for the quaint sign at the road. The drive meanders into the property to reveal the charm of the historic B&B. Loved the cherry woodwork throughout. We stayed in the private suite on the first floor with semi-private porch. The suite has a generous front room with daybed that can accommodate a third person. A second room in has a large king bed and ample closet space, with antique furnishings. The suite includes a dressing area with additional closet space that leads to the bathroom complete with large shower and clawfoot tub options. Very comfortable! Breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented ranging from French toast, a fruit medley, scrambled eggs with meats and veggies, broccoli quiche, and access to snacks of cookie creations and coffee. The host family is wonderful and helpful with info about the area and favorite places to have lunch or dinner. Not sure 5 stars are enough. Definitely a quite retreat that we were looking for! We'll be back for our next adventure soon.

Highly recommend staying here! We were in town for only a night visiting some family and decided to do something different than an off-the highway chain. This place was a complete oasis away from the whirlwind of our trip while also being close to town. Beautiful, cozy, well maintained house. You can tell a lot of love has been put into this place. Breakfast was phenomenal. My only negative is that we were only there for one night so we didn’t get a chance to relax and read books in the red room or have lunch out on the patio. We will definitely be back, hopefully for a longer stint.

For Halloween, I stayed at the Shady Oaks Farm B & B which was supposed to be a get-a-way for my wife and I. But for unforeseen issues my wife needed stay home to support her aging family. But she still wanted me to go and take notes for a planned future visit… I’ll start it off with what a perfect blend of country charm and comfort. The hosts, Melanie and Jeff, were incredibly welcoming from the moment I arrived. Upon my arrival Jeff took the time and describe the beautiful surroundings of the property and gave me a wonderful list of local park sites to visit (Cuyahoga Valley State Park). Plus, Jeff made sure I had everything I needed in the room. Speaking of the room, it was even more beautiful than the pictures online. I stayed in the Suite #2 room, which had a stunning view of the surrounding countryside setting along with a beautiful horse paddock area surrounded in a bold white fencing. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the vintage contemporary-style furniture was clean and had a timeless appeal. Plus, the private bathroom area was a style that combines modern and antique elements, such as a large claw-leg bathtub (I know my wife would have enjoyed) along with a walk-in glass shower adjacent from the tub. The highlight of my stay, though, was the breakfast. The following morning, me and other guests were treated to a homemade, multi-course meal that was both delicious and filling. Jeff and Melanie prepared a tasteful Halloween decorated breakfast parfait made with fresh granola, fruit, and yogurt along with a few extras to simulate a little ghost. Plus, they used an orange pepper that simulated hollowed out pumpkin with a face and removable top that was stuffed with diced red skin potatoes and chopped sausages with special seasoning along with a side of cheesy scrambled eggs. The coffee and juice were excellent and served on individual serving platters. Plus, the breakfast table was decorated with a gorgeous Fall season tableware and place settings. Also, later in the breakfast, Melanie joined us and had a lovely chat within the breakfast room. It was clear that a lot of thought goes into every detail, from the beautiful settings through-out the common areas to the comfortable vintage furniture. The scenic pond surrounding the outside area was tranquil, picturesque, and meticulously kept. Highlighting the harmonious blend of water and Fall season landscaping. The rear patio was a true backyard oasis stunningly beautiful and incredibly quiet. The perfect spot for morning coffee or unwinding after a long day of site seeing. I left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. I would highly recommend Shady Oaks Farm B&B for anyone looking for a peaceful and high-quality escape, and my wife and I are already planning our return trip...

My wife and I went for our first anniversary. We stayed a few nights. We went towards the end of July. Breakfast was good and different each day. After eating I felt the portions were appropriate. I did not leave the table hungry, but I also did not leave the table overstuffed. Neither my wife nor I have any dietary restrictions however on the second day we were there we did eat breakfast with another couple and they had a gluten intolerance. I did hear the host explaining to them that they were accommodating their needs and they had made special breakfast for them. The host couple were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They were easy to talk to, but they also left you alone. If you choose to talk with them they will talk with you. Each day my wife and I went to a different one of the surrounding cities. They had recommendations on restraunts and attractions in each of the places we were going. I f you don't have definite plans, ask them. They told us about different walking trails and all kinds of things. Our room was comfortable and clean there were adequate toiletries. The light switches were slightly confusing at first. The TV had Hulu, Netflix, and Prime. It probably had more, but my wife and I didn't need anything else to look at for our short stay. I got the wildflower bouquet and chocolate dipped strawberries for my wife. The flowers were beautiful. If you get the flowers you do take them with you when you leave. When we got the flowers home they lasted pretty much as long as any other flowers that I have gotten for my wife. I did make a special request for the strawberries to have 60% dark chocolate which they accommodated. They make the chocolate dipped strawberries there. We had a...

When Melanie greeted me at the door with a warm smile and we walked into the foyer, I thought I was in a garden. The fragrance of an impeccably clean home filled the air! Words cannot express how much we loved our stay on August 18 at this amazing B&B. Our only disappointment was that we did not have a 2nd night booked! Melanie and Jeff are gracious and stellar innkeepers. They have created an extraordinary property that gives guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in an unforgettable experience. The furnishings and artwork are amazing! The attention to detail is second to none! I loved walking thru the common areas and our suite to discover any exquisite detail I had missed. I loved the portrait of Miss Pearl in the dining room! We booked Suite 1 and had our own porch to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the backyard. Be sure to have them explain how they repaired the ecosystem of the pond and woods. We were so impressed! I cannot write enough about the food! We loved the homemade chocolate brownies with fudge icing when we returned from dinner. Delicious! For breakfast we had a lovely fresh fruit plate presented in floral form...again, attention to detail! A delicious Dutch Boy strawberry pancake, which was just the right amount and not too heavy, so we had room for the sausage/cheese quiche with a side of "real" potatoes. We ate outside in the patio area since it was a lovely morning. We must also compliment Melanie and Jeff on how delightful their two daughters are. They were well-mannered and friendly. It was fun to see them playing outside with a friend when we left for dinner. They warmed our hearts! We will definitely return! In fact, I'm returning with a...
