Recieved a text that the cottage was ready at noon, met with Nancy and she was very friendly- ready to give recommendations for local spots and discuss the cabin/ amenities. The pictures do NOT do the cabin justice at all, much bigger than I expected- I believe the porch is 20x6 and the interior is 20x12. I was able to set up an XXL and an XL dog crate with room to spare.
Included in the Pink cottage: DVD player on the TV (a few DVDs in the drawer) Great wifi Water fountain directly outside. Queen bed & fold out cot. Several pots & pans Plates, cups, mugs, silverware Necessary cookware (can opener, tongs, spatula, etc) 12 cup coffee pot Toaster Microwave Towels in the bathroom Air conditioner (made the room cold within 15 minutes) A heater Fire pit Propane grill Bedding & pillows Free use of kayaks, canoes, etc. Enclosed porch with plenty of seating. Pink cottage also has a water fountain right out front.
I've read a few reviews complaining about "hearing cars" from the road, this didn't bother me at all and was fairly muted. Maybe if you're in the big house it's more noticeable but I found the entire stay mostly peaceful & quiet. The cottages are very dog friendly and they have the leash rule which I appreciated so much (my old boy isn't a fan of strange or rude dogs running up on him).
There are only 3 things that could be "improved" but honestly don't matter to me- • The cottage door has a gap at the bottom (could be remedied with a foam draft stopper). • I don't know if it was intentional or will be changed at any point but the shower is reversed- cold is boiling hot and hot is a notch above warm. • The actual tap water was discolored- which means 1 of 2 things to me, either the pipes are rusty or it is well water. I used bottled water for drinking and the tap for cleaning/ dishes.
I feel the need to reiterate that those 3 things didn't take anything away from my stay. It was a beautiful, happy, & friendly environment. I wish I could just stay there forever. The owners of Cottages at Harvey Lake clearly put work and love into this place and you'll be able...
Read moreThis was our 1st time here and being in NH. Nancy was very nice and was super sweet. We checked in pretty late and she still reached out to us to welcome us and made it a point to visit with us the next day to make sure we were good. The cabin was very nice. We knew it was going to be a little small but it surprisingly still had a bit of room to walk around. There was a good amount of counter space with a cute kitchen set up which was perfect. And the bathroom was really nice, only downfall with the bathroom was the shower head being a "misting" shower head. Other than that the cabin was absolutely perfect and the bed was super comfortable.
The property was amazing! There is a cute little beach that made it super relaxing and there were kayaks to be able to take out and enjoy. It was my 1st time kayaking and this was the best 1st experience! Waking up to the beautiful lake was incredible! Would extremely HIGHLY recommend!!!! And we will definitely be coming back to Cottages at Harvey Lake next time we are in NH!! Thanks Nancy for such a great experience!!! (Added a photo of the room but it was when we...
Read moreI visited the yellow cottage for which is perfect for a couple or solo traveler/pet. Nancy & Lee have a charming lake front property stocked with kayaks, life vests, beach chairs and a dock. Each cottage has a fire pit with a grill w/ propane tank, as well as a screened in porch which is great for hanging in on summer nights. The cottages have a kitchenette stocked with dishes, pots pans, cleaning supplies as well as toiletries a long side an a/c, microwave and mini fridge. WiFi & streaming services were available for use which was nice to have and worked well. The property is off of a main road which could be challenging navigating in & out and there is only one way in/out of cottages could be a tight squeeze but manageable and very little noise from traffic. The property is pet friendly, Nancy recommended a state park nearby that was beautiful we explored it daily followed by visit to the brewery & ice cream shop down the street that also have pet friendly out door seating. Nancy also gave me a free mug which was nice, overall was...
