Rainbow Inn Aiea # 90/BB-0038 $265 a night vacation rental apartment not a hotel — Hotel in Oʻahu

Our stay at Rainbow Inn was beyond our expectations. The view alone was spectacular and priceless! Pictures do not do it justice. You can see the ocean, Pearl Harbor and the lush trees, mountains, and valleys. The bench under the mango tree was a perfect spot to drink your morning tea or coffee and watch the sunrise over the mountain as you admire the lush green Canyon/Valley next to you. It truly places you in a state of absolute zen and was a wonderful way to start each day.

Rainbow Inn is centrally located so it makes all parts of the island easily accessible, including Waikiki, Honolulu, the Windward side, the Leeward Side and North Shore. It is the perfect basecamp if you want to explore the whole island of O'ahu.

The private pool was incredible! It's a saltwater pool, so it's much better for your skin than traditional chlorine pools. When you get out, your skin actually feels soft and smooth, not dry and itchy like most pools. It also did wonders for my curly hair. The temperature was cool and refreshing, perfect for those hot humid days. If I ever have the luxury of having my own pool, this absolutely sold me on investing the extra money in a salt water pool! Also, you do share the pool with the owners, but they are super respectful about your privacy and never used it while we were actually home.

The hosts Vicky and Grant are amazing! Vicky greeted us our first night and showed us around and made us feel very welcomed. They even got us some groceries for breakfast for our stay, which was super nice! They were always willing to go above and beyond their duty as hosts and did so many things to accommodate us. Grant even took time out of his busy schedule to chat with us for quite a while the day we left.

The only problem we had during our stay here was an encounter with some teeny tiny bugs in the kitchen, which is common in warm, tropical climates like Hawaii. Just make sure you keep all of your food sealed in zip lock bags or in the fridge or freezer so you don't have to toss anything out. They did provide us with a can of Raid which helped mitigate the problem.

Overall, our stay here was absolutely fantastic! We will definitely stay here again. If you're lucky and there's availability for your trip, don't wait! Book it immediately because this place is almost always...

No need to! You get the whole pool to yourself. (Well unless you have other people also staying with you at the Rainbow Inn then you might have to share with them.)||Worried about not having an ocean view? |Well at the rainbow inn You have a Ocean view right outside your window! Every time you look outside, you will be able to see the beautiful ocean. ||Feel like staying in? So many channels available on the tv for you to choose from. ||Feel like saving money? Buy your own food to make! You have access to your own little kitchen (refrigerator, electric stoves. Plates, pans,utensils etc are available for use.) you don't share the kitchen with anyone else but whoever is staying at the rainbow inn with you. It's just like having your own apartment/back house in Hawaii. |||My personal Recommendations: Rent a car! Use your map app for directions. (I used Waze and had Morgan Freeman taking us around the island (it's a feature on the app)). ||We enjoyed our stay at the rainbow inn. We enjoyed our stay at this oasis in Aiea. The apartment was very comfortable with a queen bed, futon, and spacious bathroom with every amenity. The kitchen was fully equipped with lots of special touches. The owners stocked the refrigerator with your preferred breakfast items. The setting is very private and quiet and it is in a residential area. There is free parking. You have a beautiful pool to yourself and there are chairs and a table for your use outside the pool. The price is very reasonable and much better than the hotel rates in most of the rest of Oahu. In the morning, the birds gently wake you. We saw a rainbow over Pearl Harbor nearly every day from our windows. The view over Pearl Harbor is unobstructed from the apartment through the glass doors and large window looking out from the kitchen table. The owners are gracious, prompt to respond and unobtrusive. There is a regional shopping mall about one mile down the hill and a farmer's market there every Saturday morning. This would not be a convenient location if you want to spend your time in Waikiki, but it was perfect for us with family living close by. It is also just 20 minutes from the airport unless you are...
