I would never stay at this hotel again. It's not safe. The police should be driving through hourly at least.
People stick rocks at all doors, all the way around the premises and I finally realized that some people were doing "business". Hence the need to keep those doors unlocked. I guess the owners turn a blind eye to it because they cannot possibly not know what's going on. I'm kind of a Pollyanna and even I could figure it out. But all of the entrance doors all over the entire hotel have a rock or something to keep them from closing. The owners know about it and do nothing. It's absolutely not safe for the guests to be staying there. If anyone can walk in at anytime. Also be very careful. I noticed on our second day there that our room door did not shut automatically. It had to be pushed quite firmly to latch.
We stayed at the hotel because we had to do some repair work on our bathroom and our bathroom was going to be out of commission for a couple of days. We picked this hotel for the primary reason that it had an outdoor pool. I figured it would be fun during the day to do a little swimming while the repair was going on.
When we arrived to check in. The pool was closed for the season. Why when it was 80° outside and early September? September 8th? Looked like it had been closed for quite a while and it just wasn't reported on the website. I did double check the website and it made no mention of the pool being closed. Full price, more than other hotels in the area and no pool at all? Certainly the price should have gone down significantly without the pool because it was the only reason anyone would stay there.
You can see by the pictures that I posted how dirty the hotel is. I noticed when we first arrived the carpet was really a need of being vacuumed. But it was early in the day and I thought housekeeping would vacuum when they clean the rooms. Nope. Stayed there three days. Same dirt was there all three days.
Lots of people talked about smelling mold. I did not smell any mold when I was there. But I think what they might have been talking about was the heavy heavy heavy smell of bed bugs spray. Because that smell permeates the hotel the second you walk in.
Good bathtub. I'll give it a b. If it was a little bit deeper it would have gotten a day. Lots of hot water and good water pressure.
Our dogs stayed with us. Now my husband and I are responsible pet owners so of course we carry bags to pick up any leavings and dispose of them properly. Clearly we were the only ones that ever did that there. Also a great many of the people living there don't really know how to handle their dogs when they have very large dogs and I felt quite threatened in the hallway and had one large dog that was at least part pitbull jump on me. Because the person let their child walk a dog that was too big for them and they couldn't control. Shame on the parent.
Then there is the worst hotel breakfast that I ever had. Keep in mind the time is marked wrong right outside the little cafeteria and if you go up there at 9:00 when it says breakfast is from 6:00 to 10:00, you will be out of luck. Because the sign is wrong and it actually closes at 9:00. Not only does it close at 9:00, it's a one item breakfast option. Your option is a piece of toast. A frozen waffle from the freezer, stale cereal or expired yogurt. The coffee is available all day, but it is so bad you don't want to drink it. In fact, we walked over to the gas station for coffee because it was so disgusting it wasn't drinkable.
So on all if they had charged us a reasonable price for the dump I wouldn't have minded so much. But basically $100 a night? Never never...
Read moreMy two boys and I checked in around 10:30 or 11 at night. The clerk told us our room was at the far end of one hallway and that our room would face the parking lot. So I parked my vehicle in that area and we walked and walked down that hallway looking for our room number. In fact our room was down the other hallway at the opposite end!! It also faced an interior Courtyard, with sheer curtains and drapes on each end that were purely decorative and unable to be closed. I could not believe that we were exposed like that. The lobby is extremely nice and has obviously been very recently upgraded. The room we were given had carpeting from the 70s or early 80s. I also had to sign a paper that said there was no smoking anywhere in the building or within 15 ft of the property. They charged $150 if you did so. I would have walked away but there were no other options. I have never been to a hotel or motel that did not have a smoking room available or force you to sign something like that. Especially not a Super 8 Motel. I also wanted to get some ice from the ice machine. It was unfortunately broken. So the man from the front desk told me to come around and he gave me ice from behind the ice machine area. Again in the morning I needed ice but there was no one to be found. Eventually I did get ice on my way out from the front desk clerk. I just took the tub with me out the door. Disgraceful. In the morning I approached the hotel maid to ask her for another packet of coffee, but before I could get anything out of my mouth, she rudely said "NO SAMPLES!!". I said quietly while being taken aback I just wanted to know if I could have some coffee? Her attitude changed right away and she handed me two packets. Very bizarre. The whole situation was from start to finish unlike any other I have encountered in my entire adult life. I am nearly 50 years old. When we went to check out there was no one at the desk and a sign with directions to call a number for whoever was in charge so people could check out. Behind the front counter boxes were stacked up and it was just unprofessional looking. Finally someone came to check us out of the motel. She asked if everything had been alright and I told her nicely no. She didn't offer any sort of compensation. Just a rather phony I'm sorry sort of thing. I paid over $70 to be treated like that. I would never recommend that particular...
Read moreThe best thing about this place was the pet fee apparently being non existent.
I brought my cat to my room. She doesn't like strangers, and was already freaking out bc sensory for herself. The dogs barking and running above us off and on without the owners doing much was setting her off more.
We were lied to about the pool. We were told it was closed so I didn't bring my swimming suit. I saw other families out there.
I wasn't even told I had a DND sign, and the doorstopper was thin as paper so my basically blind self, not bringing my glasses, didn't see it until day two AFTER housekeeping let themselves in while I, TMI, was in the privacy of my own room taking a piss. They had a card. I wasn't even checked out, and I didn't answer for obvious reasons. And again, doorstopper didn't move. Why would you come into a room that is NOT CHECKED OUT, WITH PETS YOU DON'T KNOW, and just.. In general?? Yes I know I didn't have a sign up, but my cat is already skittish and what if she ran because she doesn't know the stranger barging in? Heck, y'all were so loud that she was able to squeeze BEHIND your beds and caused me a panic attack thinking she got out when you opened the door and I walked the whole grounds looking for her. I was a mess that whole time and I'm 99 percent sure you told my mom it would have "been my fault", for what? Not wanting a stranger in my room when I haven't checked out?
If we hadn't already paid, I certainly would have asked to move hotels. I'm not coming back. Check your room status before going and banging on doors for housekeeping and be more courteous about it. We came because of a home related issue our cats couldn't be home for and neither could we. They're already stressed out. And for the love of God, if someone doesn't answer, don't try to open the doors yourself if they aren't checked out! They're either busy or don't want you in there most likely! Because PETS!!!
Why be pet friendly and not prioritize being friendly to...
