Was in town visiting my daughter(military). Brandy who checked us in was great, warm and friendly. The rest of the staff should take notes. We had booked to bring our small Frenchie along with us. We had went shopping at the mall and wanted to check out the Gaming & Racing Hotel Casino down the street. Kinda bummed I didn't book there instead of this place. But being it carried the Hilton name, I chose this hotel. Room was clean and stocked but I the fan in the bathroom did not work which stayed very hot. Especially while showering-no air circulation at all. The hallway was extremely hot as well. Not good w/ all the sicknesses and illness running rampid. I didn't mention the fan as we were in for only 2 nights-no biggie, I typically don't complain. Just propped the door open for air and to clear the mirror off. But it should have worked being no window present. After we returned from a few hrs of shopping, maybe 4-5 at most, some lady(not sure if mgmt) approached me as I was getting a cup of coffee(with my dog in hand/leash) and proceeded to tell me some man next to us complained my dog barked. She never mentioned any excessive barking to warrant a call. I know believe it was housekeeping and they was in our room-even though I specifically asked for no one to go in our room and put a sleep sign on the door as well while out. She's a rare and rather expensive breed. The housekeeping cart was actually blocking the door when we returned. Dogs do bark and this is a pet friendly hotel as advertised. Maybe the other guest should stay somewhere with a no pet policy. We paid the pet fee and filled out the proper paperwork. I asked her why no call as they had my # on that paper. My dog is not a constant barker but will bark at loud noises like housekeeping in/out clicking and slamming those doors. They are loud and slam shut. The dog quietens down afterwards. I witnessed this a couple of times while in the room w/her. The front desk lady told me she didn't see a number for me. I really don't think she even looked for it because the form was filled out at check-in. No way you didn't have a phone # for a guest there. After this, she just walked off and struck up conversation with someone else. No apologies, nothing. She made me feel uncomfortable and like I was targeted for some reason. We will not be back! If you offer this service, maybe you should put all the pets on the same floor or simply let others know there are pets in the hotel or possibly next to you. Dogs bark. You cant control them when loud noises are present. She had no need or reason to approach me over my dog. We wasn't gone but a few hrs. and wanted to be back to catch a game on TV at 3pm. Left around 9am. I could have very well complained about whomever next to us playing loud music/TV loudly late the night before, but didn't. I understand ppl come and go at different times, sleep patterns, etc. Also, I was instructed where the poop areas were for my dog bc we cleanup in public areas and our own yard. The area was full and appeared no one else follows the rules. Not to mention, the amount of trash and litter around the property they need to cleanup. It's gross out back in the grassy areas. I lost count of the paper towels, cigarette butts, coffee creamer cups among other trash strolled about. Old rusty tractor displaced on the property as well. Clean up your grounds, fix room 225's poop fan, cool, down those hallways, fix that pissy smell in the ONE elevator and learn some friendly customer service. Breakfast staff was extremely nice so THANK YOU to those ladies and Brandy. At checkout, I was not asked how my stay was or invited back. Just if I wanted a receipt for my stay. I am a tipper and had planned on leaving housekeeping a large tip, but the manager or whomever ruined it for the person on to clean our room...
Read moreThere is a lot I’d like to stay about our stay at Hampton Inn in Oak Grove. The hotel had only been open two weeks during our visit. Let’s start with the great. The most important thing to me in my stay is a clean room. I am always searching the bed and checking for pests to ensure I have a clean room. I always choose Hampton Inn because I never have cleanliness issues with them. The customer service was amazing. The staff are very quick to respond and it seems they really want you to enjoy your stay. The amenities are great. The gym is a very nice size with everything you need for a quick workout. The couple things that made this review a 4 and not a 5 was our bathtub had a chip in it that looked like they tried to repair it. This isn’t a big deal by any means but it wasn’t what we expected for something just opening. It was also very strange that our bathroom didn’t have an exhaust fan. It looked like our room previously had a hot tub and the fan was outside of the bathroom close to the bed. The thing that was most disappointing and the number two reason we always stay at Hampton Inn is the breakfast. They had some sort of omelette every day a sausage and a potato. For some people this is acceptable but I’ve always liked that they switch their breakfast up each day. One day you’ll have scrambled eggs and bacon and the next you’ll have biscuits and gravy. This wasn’t the case and we were there three mornings in a row. I will continue to book at Hampton Inn as they are my choice hotel but I’ll probably choose a different location due to...
Read moreSTAY HERE if you are traveling to Oak Grove or Fort Campbell. Our car broke down on our way home from Florida to Wisconsin and it took the entire following day to get it repaired. When we asked for late checkout, they offered an even later checkout than we requested. When our car still wasn't ready, we initiated vacating the room so they could clean it, but they let us hang around in their comfy and super clean lobby for 4 more hours while they constantly checked on us. They always had fresh coffee available all day in the lobby too. The beds were comfortable. The rooms, hallways, and all common areas including the pool, extra restrooms and elevators were all spotless. They had so many staff, and it was a weekday, constantly cleaning rooms, floors, elevators, etc. The breakfast was hot and delicious with cheese omelettes, sausage patties, American potatoes, waffles, oatmeal bar, etc. The breakfast attendant monitored the supplies constantly so there was always fresh food available. Pool was nice and warm, too. Thank you to all the staff who definitely were all the epitome of Southern...
