I would return to the Sierra Trails Inn in a heartbeat. It is the type of experience that people imagine when they think of a high-end B&B. Super comfortable, wonderful amenities, every detail thought of (luggage racks, hypoallergenic toiletries, super comfy bed, extra towels, etc). And the breakfast was excellent - served buffet style, with plenty of choices for any dietary needs. I particularly appreciated the insightful local advice from the innkeeper. She even kindly loaned me some equipment for our day trip to Yosemite so I enjoyed our time there even more. The local restaurants are outstanding (and the inn will offer plenty of suggestions). I loved how peaceful it was, with gorgeous sunset views. We were on a three week roadtrip and this stay was the best of all! If you are a light sleeper, I do recommend bringing earplugs - it is SO quiet out there, that even the murmurings of other guests are quite audible and while we were there some guests from another time zone were up talking at 3 am. Though they weren't particularly loud, it did wake me up but in a way it was kind of pleasant - to hear the silence of the forest with those little...
Read moreThe hosts Jane and Richard are warm and hospitable. They keep the premises in beautiful condition and the rooms are immaculate. Richard offers a comprehensive planning arrangement for your visit to Yosemite, and they offer printed material on where to get food and supplies. They are tireless helpful and kind, treating every visitor as their only one. If you meet other visitors at the inn, you'll find they are also like-minded and warm. Its really a home away from home.||||Unrelated: As their website suggests, its optimal to stay three nights to get two full days to do all the activities in Yosemite. The inn is equidistant between Mariposa and Oakhurst, so you can try out restaurants at either town (both of which have old western charm to them). Leave as early in the morning as you can (even 7am or earlier if possible) to beat the crowds – Jane and Richard will arrange breakfast to-go as needed. If you are a city slicker, walk outside the inn before sunrise to experience the...
Read morePLEASE DON’T STAY HERE because this place and the owners are discriminatory and carrying out illegal behavior. The owners called me to cancel after I alerted them in advance that I would be bringing my service animal (which I did not have to, this was as a kindness only), which is VERY illegal and discriminatory. The owner did not believe I was “disabled enough” or that my disability qualified for a service animal. When I told her this was absolutely false under the ADA and that my condition was well documented as being aided by a service animal, she didn’t believe me and tried to explain to ME (who is obviously well versed in what does and does not qualify as a service animal) that my dog didn’t qualify in her opinion. I was so excited to have found this place to spend my honeymoon, but now my honeymoon is ruined because I’m not disabled enough and the owners think they know the ADA better than a disabled person. I am SO...
