Came here with family. We have 13 people - 3 cabins and 1 tent. Thec checkin is very easy. They will text you door code and cabin number to your phone when the cabin is ready. The cabin I stayed at had a loft. I have a 8 years old and 11 years old. The loft space seems a little too small for my 11 years old and is just right for my 8 years old. They love the loft because they can climb up to the sleeping area. However, the cabin with loft seemed a lottle smaller than the cabin that had 1BR and 1 futon. My family had the valley view cabin which was pretty good because you can see a nice valley in the morning. Wildhaven opened for almost a year. Most of the stuff are still very new but you will notice some spots are bit dusty. Our bathroom was very small and it didnt have a sink. You would need to walk to kitchen area to wash your hand. I stayed in Autocamp Airstream before, Airstream bathroom was much bigger than the cabin in Wildhaven. Corners of showepan seemed a little dirty. I wasn't sure if the "yellow grease" were glue or dirts. In the kitchen area, there was induction stove. If you planned to bring your own cookware, make sure its induction compatible otherwise the induction stove will not turn on when your have your cookware on it. Each cabin came with a frying pan and pot. When I was staying in Airstream, we couldnt cook inside the Airstream. The AC system in our loft cabin worked out OK. It was cool during the day time but the heater didnt work that good at night. However, in my family 1BR and futon cabin, the AC was placed nesr the kitchen area. Cool or hot air couldn't really get to the room and livingroom. My family end up asking for more blankets. Overall, the loft cabin is smaller than the 1BR cabin. If you bring a big luggage, you wont have much space to walk around. ||There are usb charging ports on the nightstand which make it very easy for charging your cellphone.||There were two bbq gas grill in the communal area near our cabin which were not enough. There were more grills near the clubhouse area. They should provide more grills since there was always people waiting to use the grill and didnt want to walk down to the clubhouse. ||To use the fire pit right outside your cabin, you will need to buy the gas from the club house. You have the option of 5 hrs or 10hrs (I think). We oped for the 5hrs.||Comparing the clubhouse here to Autocamp, Autocamp had better clubhouse. Also, Wildhaven clubhouse closed at 8PM and you can only reach staff with phone call where Autocamp clubhouse opens 24hr if I remember correctly. In terms of communal bathroom for those stayed in tents, I think Wildhaven communal bathroom was bigger than Autocamp. My family members who stayed in the tent need to make a noise complaint at night. I think other reviewer also made the same feedback. This is something Wildhaven should really improve on. ||Another thing I like about Wildhaven was you can park your car right outside of your cabin where Autocamp you need to park in parking lot. Parking outside of the cabin making loading and unloading much easier. However, it didnt seem like they have Eav charging stations. At least I didnt see it but there is a Tesla charging station in Mariposa near a local supermarket.||If I would have compare Autocamp and Wildhaven, I think Autocam is a little more "glamping" than Wildhaven. However, the space between cabins in Wildhaven are little bigger than Autocamp and Wildhaven give you a better view than Autocamp. ||Overall, its still a good place for a good leisure camping. ||By the way, they do not allow...
Read moreThank you to Sunset and Westways magazines for their enticing pieces on wilderness Glamping which compelled our first exploration of this new hospitality.| |I chose Wildhaven Yosemite for its proximity to my favorite national park, dog-friendly accommodations, and enticing photos. | |The venue is located off the main artery through nearby Mariposa and about 40 miles from Yosemite’s Arch Rock entrance. Quintessential California hills of scrub oak and grass were golden this first day of September with toasty climes heralding the last of summer. Be aware that there is much stair and hill climbing involved in getting around the venue. Younger visitors are probably OK but it was a challenge to us seniors and older dog.| |Our premium tent boasted a cozy layout with stellar views from its hillside perch. Solid mattress and nice linens. However, a canvas tent sans AC in 93-degree temps with ineffectual fans is not for the faint of heart and our trio didn’t get much sleep the first night. The cute porch firepit therefore went unused during our stay. | |Since Wildhaven just debuted in 2024, its amenities are relatively new and the bathhouse was especially upscale with its thoughtful layout and lathering choices. My husband is a consummate griller and we cooked evening meals in the largest communal space with four BBQs and picnic tables. He opined that the inexpensive propane BBQs were not adequate to the task and could be problematic with full residency. Thought a large island with robust grills and side burners plus prep space would be nice. Even with the small number of campers, our area grills and tables were all occupied at dinnertime. Would not be fun waiting in line for a turn at the grill.| |I always relish meeting new people and Yosemite’s deserved delights draw international folks which invites memorable conversations around the picnic tables. We chatted up lovely Germans, Scots and English about their California itineraries. | |There are trails arcing up the hillside and a hilltop pergola with firepits and glorious views which would be perfect on a crisp evening. Perhaps another visit.| |It would have been nice to be offered extra towels instead of one for four nights. Especially when we took several daily showers to mitigate the heat and the overheated dog had to be cooled down as well. As a polite Baby Boomer, I demurred from requesting extras. ||I'd also hoped for a morning cup of coffee as promised at reception and we even brought our own mugs. However, opening up at 8 a.m. is a tad too late for most early-rising campers so we drove into Mariposa each morning to try their bakeries.| |Wildhaven is a promising space with lots of positives and access to 4 million annual Yosemite visitors. They're already building 40 more units which attests to their initial success and promises more refinements. I’m thrilled we essayed Glamping and hope to...
Read moreReally nice place for a glamping retreat. I went with my sister and our two dogs and stayed for three nights.
Pros: Clean bathrooms and some stalls are air conditioned Nice staff - our car had to go to the shop for new breaks, uber and Lyft was not working, we told a staff member and they offered to drive us there. Picnic area is clean with grills that are easy to use even if you’ve never used one before Check in was easy and timely The people we met at the campground were nice. Feels very family friendly and safe campgrounds are well taken care of with staff on sight at all times which made us feel safe as two women traveling alone bathrooms come with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap and there’s hand soap too! good strong WiFi!
Cons I don’t have any complaints. I loved my stay here
Things to consider if you are bringing your dog The tents can get hot during summer mid day, our German Sheppard had to constantly be rinsed to avoid overheating. Tents only come with a fan and on hot days you only get hot air. Get a tent if you will be at Yosemite during mid day summer heat, if you plan to stay on the campsite only, get a cabin Tents are tents, so you can hear everything going on outside and near you which is expected of a tent - do not bring your dog if they are anxious with noises at night. You hear bunnies and other little critters around. Our dogs are very desensitized to noise and critters so this wasn’t an issue for us but beware if you plan on bringing your dog, specially if they have a pray drive. They will be pulling on you all day as bunnies come out to say hi (very cute). bring your dog a hammock bed. We came during the summer when all the grass was dry if we had not brought their hammock beds, both of our dogs would have had to sleep on hard wood in the tent and dirt when outside. Cooling mats will make your dogs stay...
