Ruth and Montie are wonderful hosts. Their rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is marvelous! We stayed four nights with them as we explored Yosemite National Park.||||They appear to have three or four guest rooms. One of the rooms, while the bathroom is private, you need to go out of your room to get to. If this is a concern for you, be sure you get one of the other rooms. They do provide bathrobes for your use.||||Each morning, Montie feeds a small herd of mule deers and a herd of turkeys. They also have hummingbird feeders and feeders for other birds. It is fun to watch all of this.||||One should bear in mind that this B&B is several miles out in the country. It is a little disconcerting your first time there if you arrive after dark. You feel very safe at the B&B, but the trip there seems a little disconcerting. This is not meant to discourage you going there, just to be aware.||||The B&B is over an hour from Yosemite National Park. If you wish to go to Tuolumne Meadow it will be 2.5 hours. The Valley is about 1.5 hours. This is not to discourage you from staying at this B&B, but to be informed to plan properly. Frankly, there are not a lot of other options much closer to the Park. Yes, there are a few, but Yosemite is so large and the towns around it with hotels/restaurants are out a ways from the central part of the Park. Almost anywhere you stay outside of the Park will involve travel time.||||Ruth will sit you down your first morning and help you figure out what is best to see and do in the Park during your stay. She suggested two trails we had not really planned to do. Both turned out to be wonderful. In our four days we did the following: Along Tioga Road--May Lake, Cathedral Lakes, and Porcupine Creek Trail to Indian Arch and almost to North Dome. In the Valley--Vernal/Nevada Falls on the Mist Trail up and the John Muir Trail down, and Sentinel Dome to Taft Point. All were wonderful. If you are not acclimated to higher elevation be cautious of how much you try to do. Also, in mid-September the Park was quite crowded. I don't even want to think what it will be like in June to August.||||Enjoy Yosemite National Park, and stay at Yosemite Nights B&B. Just be aware of the distances and the elevation as you...

The directions are confusing and we thought we were lost but finally found it. The signage to the entrance could be improved, very small and hard to read. Got there and the host were friendly enough. Then they take us to our room and tell us our air condition controls are in room 4 but are under lock and key. The husband says it is set to 72, ok I can live with that. That night I work up at 3:30am and could not go back to sleep, it was so hot I couldn’t stand it so I open the window but keep the blinds down. We take off for the day and it is an unusually hot day. We get back to our room #3 and it was so hot you couldn’t breathe so I open the windows and the door had the overhead fan (all day). Plus the outside door open. I went and got the lady host this time and she went into the other room and say the thermostat was set to 79 but she now turn it down to 76, went on to tell me that Europeans don’t like air condition at all. What does that have to do with my comfort, the people in 4 were from Michigan. So she says keep your windows open all night and that might help . But to get the breeze you had to pull up the shades and our room was right in front. So we would have to give up privacy for some air. The room did not cool off until midnight. Then at 5:00am the turkeys they have there woke me up. Needless to say I didn’t get very much sleep for 2 nights. I thought B&B’s were for R&R, not this room. I complained and was given hugs and told so sorry it wasn’t pleasant for you, maybe when you get home you can get some rest and then more hugs. I didn’t need hugs I needed sleep. They took off $25 per night to compensate for my discomfort only after I said I would not leave a good review. The only highlight of this place was...

Our room had its bathroom next door and Ruth provided bathrobes for us to walk the 4 feet from one door to the next. All other 4 rooms have en suite. The piece de resistance is Ruth's breakfasts. She is up at 6.30 preparing them. Breakfast is 7.30 sharp and all guests sit round a large table so they can chat and swap stories and ideas. Ruth prepares 3 or 4 hot dishes as well as all the normal of fresh juice, fruit, yoghurt, drinks, cereal etc etc. It really is FIRST CLASS.||Monty feed wild deer and turkey birds every morning - you can go outside and watch him just before breakfast. Ruth makes a bun to take out for the day - muffins or banana bread when we were there. Humming birds are always there feeding off the sweet liquid Monty puts out. There is a great little library of books on Yosemite and the area. They are a mine of information about walks in the Park - so use them!||Room had fridge, TV, M/wave, coffee machine, lovely bed.||The house is surrounded by trees and vegetation and on a slight rise.||Just be aware of the time you need to drive into the Park. Build this into your plans. ||This certainly ranks in our top 5 of accommodation we have stayed in...
