If I could leave 0 stars I would. My family rented 4 cabins on the property over the weekend and when I say we were disappointed that is an understatement! The retreat cottage which is the most expensive cottage on the property was not up to standards. The floors are falling in and very uneven. The building and furniture are so outdated it is ridiculous! We were told we would have satellite tv but the tv didn't work. But honestly that can be overlooked we knew we were coming somewhere rustic. The worst part of course was the 2 and a half foot of raw sewage toilet paper dirty sanitary napkins and mold that were in the basement of the cottage. After sitting out by the firepit on our second night we noticed a smell after further investigation we discovered the raw sewage we were sleeping over top of. We told the owners and their response was "sorry you had to see that usually people don't go in the basement". What an apology! He then claimed we were trying to extort him and he was unwilling to deal with people like us we needed to leave the property immediately because he had another family coming in to rent the cottage and it needed to be cleaned. After going back and forth about how he should not be renting it to anyone until the biohazard is cleaned and the pipes are repaired he insisted we leave the property even though the rules state that we had to be out of the cabin by 12 but had use of the property for the day. But that isn't the end there are BED BUGS in the cottage my family is now covered with big red welt bites. To the owners who claimed we were trying to extort them and that the over 2 ft of raw sewage with 4 inches of mold all over every surface of the basement were from my family being there for 2 days shame on you do better the public deserves to be as safe on your property as they are in their own home! Saying you didn't know there was a problem is unrealistic with the amount of sewage it has been there for awhile. I now understand why you said the septic was limited because the septic is obviously the ground under the house. As you can see in the photos they put a board down to walk over so they didn't step in the sewage to say you didn't know is a lie!! The pile of white under the cooler is toilet paper if it was from my family wouldn't the toilet paper be on the cooler not under it? ***Addition*** My family checked in at 6pm Friday and checked out Sunday at 12 PM the cabin is said to hold 10-11 people my group didn't have but 8 people in it 3 of which are still in diapers. The owner can say what he wants claim it is whomever's fault he would like to I also have the emails from the health inspector saying the campground has been in trouble more than once over the septic and other conditions on the property. We were there less than 48 hrs obviously the mess isn't from us the mold and toilet paper pile alone prove that. In looking at the reviews on Google and other sites it is clear to see Mr. Rios does not have the ability to accept criticism as he blames all the guests for them having an issue with anything on the property it is never on him it is always that something wrong with guest or something the guest did inappropriately. He takes no responsibility. We asked for a simple apology his response was anything but. As the inspector said he can tell there was an issue but you had it cleaned up before he got there so there is nothing he can do but make random check-ins. So congrats for cleaning up hopefully you keep on top of the issues this time but I doubt it just wish you had thought more of my family and our health and done that before we came.

You know what they say about assuming. I assumed that there were flush toilets because they advertised a shower house. Upon check-in I realized that was probably not so, as the young lady showed me a map with the 2 port-a-pots assigned to our site. One of the port-a-pots had HUGE holes in the walls. So large that if the homeowners directly in front of it used binoculars they could've gotten a view of someone in their compromised position. There was so much junk laying around the so- called "shower house" that we were afraid to use it. We decided to forgo a shower since we were not there too long. The hand washing stations for the port-a-pots were appreciated but a place to get potable water for cleaning the dishes would have been nice. Our site was really nice, we lucked out there. We were spot 11 next to the creek. If I were to base my rating on the site alone, I'd give it a 5, but because of the bathrooms or lack there of my rating is a 2. Their website needs to be clearer as to what they offer for amenities. The pictures shown are the "shower house" and the junk around it. The port-a-pots shown were not or "assigned" johns, they were for the cabins.

Very lovely campground & super peaceful. The stream/river is really fun. I also liked the fresh water spigot being nearby. The three stars is due to some issues with Cabin C. 1. There is mold in there and it needs to have a dehumidifier put in there. I literally had breathing difficulties due to it and my fitbit can back that up. 2. The "gas" grill that is supposed to be included was taken apart and is quite broken. All the buttons are missing and someone put charcoal in it. 3. The bug mattress on the floor gave me horrible back pain. 4. Wasps....everywhere. I didn't talk to the "mgt" about it as they didn't exist. The only staff I saw were like 2 16 yrs old who never came out of the staff building. I have no interest in talking to teenagers for complaints or issues. Didn't see one adult the entire time. However, the red haired female staff member was super nice.

The staff who work there are actually very friendly. So I have no complains about this. However, my real problem is with the cleanness and tidiness. This place is by far the dirtiest I have ever seen. The cabin's smell is really bad like you can't sleep in it because of the strong old odor. Maybe it is because too old and needs a REAL THOROUGH renovation. Also, maybe it needs serious cleaning on a daily basis. The Utensils like the stoves, grills, wood bench, etc are very dirty and rusty. Looks like they have not been cleaned for a long loooong time. We also stayed in a room at "the lodge". That place is slightly better in terms of cleanness and smell. However, there is still a bad smell/odor in the room and the bathroom especially the tub is not clean. There is a red color in the bath tub that looks gross; we didn't know what that was? Blood, paint, dirt stuck for a long time..? Whatever it was, it made us not even think about taking a shower. The kitchen is very dirty! There are so many dirty dishes laying around with so many flies, insects...etc. The basement and backyard of the lodge are even more dirty. There are too many stuff clustered in the basement and backyard, fallen curtains, oily, dirty dishes, grills and chairs around that looked like there was a house party a long time ago and the place was never cleaned after that! The surrounding/nature is gorgeous and this place could be a really good business if they fix and clean the place Like some REALLY SERIOUS fixing. If stays like this, I wouldn't wanna stay here...
