Highlights:

Spacious, well-maintained RV sites with full hookups (water, sewer, electric) Peaceful atmosphere with surrounding trees (though Starlink signal can be weak) Over 4 miles of trails for hiking and exploring with your dog Serene ponds teeming with fish and birdsong - perfect for relaxing Convenient location near Oceanside for restaurants, shops, and groceries (Vons, Albertsons, Walmart nearby) Strong T-Mobile 5G signal (though Starlink may be weak at some sites)

Our recent trip to Guajome Regional Park in Oceanside was a delightful two weeks for my wife and me, the perfect escape to relax and reconnect with nature. As full-time RVers, we're always searching for campgrounds that offer a balance of nature, amenities, and convenience. Guajome checked all the boxes, and proved to be a fantastic spot for us and our furry companions. We landed site 21, spacious and well-maintained, with ample room to extend our awning and slideouts. Having full hookups (water, sewer, and electric) was a major plus for a longer stay. The campground itself was clean and quiet, with a peaceful atmosphere thanks to the surrounding trees. It's worth mentioning that things got lively during Memorial Day weekend, but the festive vibe was enjoyable. We even met some other RVer couples with dogs, and our pups had a blast playing together. A word to the wise for fellow RVers who rely on Starlink: the abundant tree cover at Guajome can weaken the signal. If a strong and stable internet connection is crucial for you, consider contacting the park office beforehand to inquire about campsites with clearer skies. They might be able to recommend a location that better suits your needs. Luckily, even though Starlink wasn't ideal at our site, T-Mobile's 5G signal was excellent, so we weren't completely out of luck. Beyond the campground, the park itself was a true treat for us dog-loving RVers. Over 4 miles of trails wind through diverse terrain, perfect for stretching your legs, getting fresh air, and giving your furry friend a chance to explore. We loved the variety of landscapes – rolling hills, serene ponds, and even glimpses of local wildlife. It felt like a nature escape right outside our RV door, with plenty of space for our dogs to sniff around (on leash, of course!). As RVers, convenience is key, and Guajome delivered there too. The location was fantastic – close enough to Oceanside for restaurants and shops, but far enough away to feel like a true getaway. Plus, the on-site dump station was a major convenience. Even better, there are several chain grocery stores, like Vons, Albertsons, and Walmart, all within a 10-minute drive of the park. This made it easy to stock up on supplies and essentials without having...

This campground was peaceful, well kept, with clean bathrooms, great cell phone signal, and near to so many wonderful places to visit like LEGOland, Oceanside Beach, Flower Fields, multiple arboretums/gardens, Museum of making music, Lagoon nature centers, Craftsmanship Miniature Machine Museum, Rancho house, Mission, and more. Plus its right around the corner from a Walmart or Sprouts in case you forgot something, but at the same time you feel completely surrounded by nature and not in the middle of urban life at all! Our only issues at this campground were the wildlife and shower tokens. First of all, because this campground is near developed areas, there are cockroaches that come out at night so keep your tents zipped shut and possessions off of the ground. Second, lock up all your food and stow away any trash before nightfall so you don't attract the skunks. Third, pick up any fallen food and dispose of it away from your campsite in the dumpsters so you don't attract the ants. Fourth, this campground is next to a pond and a marsh - mosquitos are everywhere and VERY persistent. My son did not have bug spray on the night we arrived and was bit more times than I could count - it was awful. Even I who was covered in bug spray, I still got bites on my hands because I washed them before eating. We strongly suggest a screened in tent over the picnic table, strong mosquito repellent, keep your tents zipped shut, and use your flashlight to check every square inch of your tent in the dark and kill any mosquitos there. When we checked our screened in tent and sleeping tent with the flashlight in the dark - it made a HUGE difference. Lastly, the sign states that you can buy shower tokens at certain times, but the kiosk at the entrance to the campground is often closed/unmanned. So buy those shower tokens when you first arrive and first see a ranger in that kiosk. If you wait, you won't be able to get them and I have to wash off the sunscreen before bed. Also - it takes two tokens for a regular wash (adds up to 8 min). If you have long hair to care for or need to shave, you will need like 3-4 shower tokens per visit. Also start with the handle turned a bit more to the left so it warms up faster, then move it back to center as the water gets hot. That way you don't waste as much time waiting for the water to get hot.

Overall, we recommend this campground because it was clean, quiet, maintained, and near many wonderful places to visit. But, if you are severely allergic to mosquito bites - this might not be the right stop for you as the mosquitos were very persistent. Keep your campsite clean of food and trash to prevent...

Beautiful camp ground, lt have everything you need for a great camping trip. We did our TNTT group camp (Vietnanese Youth Catholic Organization) here before COVID and past weekend. Everything was great the first trip; however, for this past weekend trip, we had some hiccup with that one park ranger (HECTOR) who is very nitpicking and won't leave us be. We booked 1 to 12 campsite space, and Hector would give us a hard time about 4 tents being next to each other (2 tents per campsite). Parent would drop off their kids at the campsite and get threatened for a citation for pulling in the campsite parking by HECTOR. Besides, Hector needs to be more accommodated. Everything else was smooth sailing. We had great weather and a beautiful park. Before leaving the campsite, we had everyone line up and did a trash pick up n walk through because we appreciate the work of the park rangers and everyone who keeps this...

Nice park to bring your horse to trail ride. There are a few different trials you can take. There is a large loop around the lake and a smaller loop around a smaller lake. If your ride the entire park can take about two hours. During late spring the flowers are really beautiful and in bloom. The paths are fairly wide and well marked. Best time to go is during the week to avoid more of the foot traffic and bicycles. Most people are pretty polite to horse traffic and try to stay out of your way. If you are on a bike and coming up from behind on horses, please call out and pass on left. I do wish however there was less large gravel in some areas. Some horses are sensitive to gravel. Horse trailer parking is pretty easy in the main parking lot area or off Guajome Lake road and in dirt.
