We arrived with reservations and the young clerk assigned us our spot for our 39' 5th wheel. We drove to the spot and I feared there would be no way to turn into the circular camping area where 5 or 6 others would be parking. Nontheless, I attempted to turn wide and in through the 15 foot wide entrance. There was a tree on one side of the entrance and a huge bolder on the left. As I paid close attention to barely miss the tree, the wheels of my RV dropped into a ditch in the left and smashing into the bolder. I bent the side trim on the RV and knocked off my sewer drain cap. I thought for sure I had busted my sewer pipe! Luckily, I finally realized there would be no way to get to the assigned spot and backed out of that RV Hell Hole. I made it up front and had them switch me to a back-in spot. They did.||||Once we get to the chosen spot we discovered th at all of the utility hook-ups are at the far end of the spot. I backed the RV up as close as I could and my water hose barely fit. Then when we were ready to open the slides, we realized we would hit on the right side of I didn't pull up two feet. So, I filled my water tank up, disconnected, then pulled up 2 feet. Oh yeah, there was sewer, but since I pulled up, there was no way I could attach it. GREAT!!!||||After walking around a bit I realized that the original spot I was given is more heated towards small trailers or small class C's. There is no way I or anyone with a big 5'er could have gotten in there. I honestly believe that the young clerk didn't have a clue about the size of my unit (sitting clearly out front) or the size of the assigned spot. ||||Only after we entered the RV did we realize how terrible the mosquitos were. We ended up spending 3 days here in our RV. Held captive by the ever present onslaught of voracious mosquitos.||||Lucky for me I was able to bend the side panel back into pretty good shape and fix the sewer cap. Unfortunately for this RV park IT SUCKS! The bath rooms are way too small and the showers are even smaller. The only decent thing about this park is there clubhouse. It was the only place to get Wi-Fi and the room was clean and air conditioned. This is the only reason I give this place a 3. The good thing for us is that we will...
Β Β Β Read moreThe camp grounds are nice. Fairly large in size and most have a culdasack style. It is ideal if camping with a group of people. Although some of the spots could be hard for a novice to park.
The atv trails are close by and were pretty fun to race around on. We enjoyed that aspect of camping. We were also planning on tubing on the st croix river which the campground readily informed us on prices and times but neglected to let us know that the tubing was closed due to the cold water temp and high water level. So i asked if it was from the recent rain and the lady at the front desk said "no it was closed the weekend before too."
So if you are planing on going specifically for the tubing make sure you ask if tubing is open and running. My children were quite disappointed. They should have let us known prior to booking.
The showers are really nice. You have tons of hot water and u dont have to keep hotting a button to keep the water going. Also every shower stall has a heater in the ceiling to help keep u warm.
But make sure you shower well after you swim in their indoor pool.
While swiming with my kids to my dismay a big turd went floating by on the water. I immediately told my children to get out of the pool. We informed the front desk that they had feces floating around in their pool.
About a hour later I went back, I saw a sign on the pool door that said closed for maintenance. When I ask the front desk lady when she thought the pool would reopen, she said probably tomorrow because they had to drain and treat it with chemicals. About 3 hours later I walked by the pool again and to my surprise there were kids and adults swimming in it.
Now I am not a pool expert but I dont believe that scooping out the turds with a net and throwing some chlorine in qualify as proper hazardous waste management protocol.
Other than that we had a good time. A few things could have been better but things also could have been worse. Overall it was a decent...
Β Β Β Read moreMy husband and I were invited as βfinalistsβ to have a chance to win a side by side or $5,000 as also receive a few other small things like $50 to camping world, 100$ food coupon card, and 7 nights of free tent or camper camping at one of their resort locations but we have to listen to a 90 minute sales pitch. Over all our experience was decent. We enjoyed the staff. They were very happy, energetic, and we really enjoyed the lady giving our presentationβ¦ super personable. What I did not enjoy was once it was over with we were show how much everything would cost. And you get $2,000 cut off your total lifetime membership, but in exchange you had to make a choice before you leave otherwise you have to pay the full price which was $8,000 (along with a little over $400 in maintenance fees a year) I am a stay at home mom, we have two kids.. this was not a decision we could make so quickly. I had to see if it could be budgeted in, if this is feasible for our situation. I loved the idea of camping a lot more and saving money in the long term. This is definitely something we were interested in.. but could not make a decision on 6,000$ (Price cut by $2,000 after we attended presentation) And a little over $400 in fees a year. Once you leave you canβt do a tour again, and you have to pay full price. Unfortunately we had to leave without my husband and I truly talking about things. I did appreciate the gifts from the resort though, the staff is excellent, and I would recommend something like this to people if they love to camp, vacation,...
