Room smells lightly of cigarettes and more of marijuana. The hallway smell of marijuana. The elevator completely and totally reeks of marijuana. Someone even tried to light the leaf artwork. The tv had no working channels only YouTube and Netflix. I was in a room away from the highway and heard traffic all night long and any movement from the other rooms. The only good things I can say about this place is the check in lady was polite and professional and nextdoor to a truckstop.

Wood spring is a palace compared to the roach infested unsafe range motel that I got robbed at and my money taken when I had to leave because I felt unsafe. I would stay here anytime I had to it’s nice and no one bothers you. I haven’t felt unsafe at all and my traumatized little support dog is finally relaxing compared to he didn’t move at range. I give it five stars

Okay, so first and foremost, who hired the manager here? She is so rude and disrespectful, and apparently confronting her about an issue is going to piss her off. I called corporate, but I have a feeling all she’s going to get is a slap on the wrist essentially, because how is she still with the company after so many negative reviews on her behalf? 😭 More about what happened: My fiancĆ© went down to the front desk a few days ago to just let someone know that the water in the shower was very cold, even after waiting for a few minutes. She was apparently very disrespectful to him, but overall told him that someone would be coming to fix it. No problem though, I get it, crap happens. But then she goes on to tell him that she found cat FECAL MATTER on one of the luggage carts, and we would be charged $100 for a cleaning fee. He came back up to the room disgruntled, and after discussing what had happened, I wanted to get some clarification on the situation being presented to me. Not to mention, the date the ā€œcat poopā€ was found on the cart was on Saturday. There was absolutely no mention of it until Monday this week (today is Wednesday). I can vouch for my fiancĆ©, that there was absolutely NO WAY cat poop could have gotten on that cart. He was using the cart to assist in taking out a large amount of trash from the room that was due to me meal prepping for him, and going through our pantry type foods to check for expiry dates. Yes, we have a cat, but she’s litter box trained for one, and two, there would have been no cat feces in any of those trash bags. Anyhow, I went down to the front desk to try and better understand what was going on, because it made absolutely no sense. I asked to see the footage of my fiancĆ© handling the cart. She only showed me footage of him exiting and re-entering the building. I requested to see HALLWAY footage, to which I was denied. I didn’t see anything even closely resembling cat poop on the cart when he came back inside. It looked more like a leaf that may have blown onto the cart tbh. I told her that I didn’t understand why $100 dollars was needing to be payed if she could not prove that it was in fact cat poop. She got very defensive, and began to cuss me out, to which I responded with ā€œI don’t appreciate the profanity. I’m not using any foul language with you, and I expect that bare minimum level of respect in return.ā€ Oouuuhhh… That did not make her happy. I calmly explained that I wasn’t there to argue, but rather simply to get a better understanding of why we were being charged for a cleaning fee for a luggage cart. Also, she told me it was just power washed. Water costs nothing, regardless if it’s pressurized or not. šŸ˜‚ Also kind of unsanitary to only use water to clean alleged cat poop, but hey, what do I know… She just walked away from me and yelled at me that my fiancĆ© was childish and immature, although she’s the one raising her voice and acting like a toddler throwing a tantrum. Just for reference, I’m newly 18, I’m going to roughly estimate she’s in her late 40s, maybe early to mid 50s. That’s pretty sad when a person much younger than you is being more mature and civilized than you, a person almost 3 times that age. I don’t know who to contact or anything, because it seems like she’s been a problem for years, yet she’s still an employee, a manager at that. Corporate has clearly done nothing about it, and I don’t expect anything to change. But shoutout to the dude with the ponytail that works here at the front desk on weekends! He’s more deserving of the current managers...

Rooms are clean but Some of the staff are not very hospitable.

My first week here was no issues other than a front desk woman by the Name of Liz being a little rude.

But my issues Started when I was told I was going to have to pay a 100 dollar cleaning fee for Switching to a new room at the end of my stay.

So I booked a room for a week stayed that whole week in that room. If I would have left and went to a new hotel there would have been no fee. If I would have left and came back the same day and rebooked there would have been no fee. But simply because I booked a new room while still under the new one I was charged 100 for a "Cleaning fee"

It didn't make sense. I had already paid all my fees for the old room and the new room.

I kept asking the lady to make it make sense but all she could do was get angry at me for not understanding.

At that point I'm starting to cry and feel over stimulated, so I close mt eyes to process my thoughts which is common coping mechanism for me when eye contact starts becoming uncomfortable and a distraction

She starts accusing me of not trying to understand because my eyes were closed, then starting threating that she didn't have to let me stay there and yelling at me.

I went up to my room to collect my thoughts and go down and try again but when I did I was met with the same raised voice and hostility simply because I wanted to specifically understand where my money was going and why it was going there.

I don't know when a guest is crying and obviously upset maybe don't threatin their current living situation and tell they are strange. I've paid to be here how about just a little courtesy and compassion.

So after writing this review it seems corporate reached out to the manager of the property to ask about the 100 fee.

I guess the manager told the company I was charged a fee for all the "hair and urine built up in my hotel room.

Now I am twice as angry.

My dog is a good boy and potty trained and has been fo 15 years. We keep him crated 90 percent of the time we aren't in the room and I'm sure if we were to look at cameras the dog is taken to potty outside several times a day.

So that's lie number 1

Lie number 2

The hair...

I was so nervous about staying in a hotel under my name for the first time. I went and bought a swifter dry and wet mop so I could keep the floors clean and lysol wipes to keep sinks clean.

So the claim there was a lot of hair doesn't hold up. Because I meticulously swept behind us.

Now for Lie number 3 which is the most Damning.

The manager told corporate that I was charged a fee because they found "hair and urine in my room."

The wierd part about that "claim" is I was told I was getting charged the cleaning fee before I even switched rooms.

Read that part again corporate.

Before I was even out of room 1 and into room 2

Before a staff member could go behind me and even look at the state of room 1

I was charged a fee.

I don know how long things are keeps on video or camera here but if there is still recordings feom last week I could definitely prove no staff had been in my room before I got hit with a fee.

So now not only is my dog being lied on but the Managment here feels pretty comfortable lying to their Corporate on how the timeline of events transpired

I guess I will have to file with the BBB since corporate doesn't feel like taking my...

If I could give it a zero, I would. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

The Environment - It looks decent on the outside from the interstate, but as you get closer, you see that there is litter all over the green space. There were constantly people drinking, smoking, loitering, and littering outside of the side door that led to my room and in the stairwell. At night, there were even people out there drunk that weren't staying at the hotel at all. The stairwell and entryway were filled with the smell of marijuana and cigarettes.

The Room - As soon as I walked in the room, I was greeted by a refrigerator that was covered top to bottom in what looked like rust and grease. There were long black hairs in my towels and sheets (I'm blonde). There were bugs in my bathroom, and in my non-smoking room, the smell of cigarettes was so bad, it burned my throat and gave me a headache.

The Experience - I had interactions with three hotel staff, two of which were very nice. I booked the hotel for seven nights and ended up staying for two. On the third night, my headache was so bad from the smoke, and I was so uncomfortable with the drunk people yelling outside my window that I left. Of course, the lobby was actually closed at the time (closed hotel lobby?), so there was no way for me to cancel my stay. I ended up just booking another hotel for the night. The next morning, I went back TWICE, and no one was manning the front desk or answering the phone that they leave a note for guests to call. Finally, I was able to find a sweet employee (Really, she was very nice and seemed very sincere.) that couldn't give me any information. I ended up being rerouted for FOUR DAYS between people and phone calls before I finally got some of my money back. Yes, some. Not all; not even most.

I highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay. The money you save on cost is completely lost in the...
