Here's my list of reasons for only 2 stars We arrived this past Saturday for my granddaughter's birthday party. There were cars everywhere! I had a car full of birthday decorations and balloons and there was literally NO place to park. There was a young guy that looked like he was attempting to direct traffic, so I stopped and asked if he could tell me where I was supposed to go and the pointed and said "I don't know, you can go over there and ask". (Okay, but where is over there)?? I drove around in the parking lot and found the admission building, and a couple girls standing at a gate, so I asked them. This is where the party went south. I was told where we were to set up by a point in the general direction, and that they thought there were reserved signs at the location but they were not sure.....Well, there were NO reserved signs, and it was right in front of the entrance of a building, and all the tables were full. There was No privacy at all at this spot. Not that I expected complete privacy, but literally people would have been walking through our party to get to the building. I went back and said this will not work, I was offered another spot that was soggy and muddy. After saying no to this spot I was offered another reserved birthday party spot, and was told that they would deal with this party later. This spot was still muddy and right by the bathrooms, but we had people there for a party and I had no choice but to accept it. I was informed they had over booked parties and it was first come first serve. There is more to this story but at this point it was futile to stress it!
The pizzas and drinks we pre-ordered is another story.
I respect the fact that they were very busy, and I want to support local businesses, but they were understaffed, and what staff was were was visibly stressed, and flustered. When we got ready to leave, I stopped at the exit and requested a count for our party and the young girl told be she didn't have the count and I'd have to get it from the other lady that was there when we first checked in. I asked where I might find her and she pointed and said somewhere over there.......
I was not able to find the person who could give me an exact count to our party. However, I received a call today and was told I owed over $300.00 dollars. We prepaid for a party of 25, I have no idea if there people being added to our party that didn't belong to my party because no one was able to give me a count a check out time.
I will pay what they are asking for, but I don't think I'll go back there again...
Read moreAttended the Kimray Family Fall Festival with my wife and children. We enjoyed the time together as a family and I met some of our children's coworkers. Which welcomed us and enjoyed our time with them. The paved paths to and from the different activities are a smooth and easy to use. For my wife, with her scooter this is a great blessing. As for myself it's easier for me to get around. I have Osteoarthritis in my left knee so smooth surfaces are very important for walking comfort. Our daughter led us through the maze and we found all of the clues to find the answers to find out what the answers to the puzzle was. It really wasn't a corn maze it's much shorter than corn stocks are. It is soybean field, but most city folks wouldn't know the difference. People were having fun anyway. It was great to be able to ride the hay wagon after walking around the maze. My knees were sore. You can see more scenery riding the hay ride. It would be nice if it made a stop half way through. Instead of only at both ends of the ride. The train ride was enjoyable but it is not ADA complient. It was very difficult for my wife to board and much more for her to get off of the train car. The staff did not know how to help either. I nearly had to carry her like a sack of potatoes bent over my shoulder to get her off the train and put her on the ground, so she could sit on her scooter and drive to the next activity. My wife has Myotonic Dystrophy and she is gradually getting weaker as life go on. She didn't even want to try to ride the hay wagon as the steps are way too tall for her and I couldn't carry her upstairs and down the stairs safely. Other than these two things we really enjoyed our time at the Orr Family Farm. We purchased some novelty products in the store for family members back in Arizona. We purchased some pumpkins to make fresh homemade pumpkin pies. At a dollar each for the smaller pumpkins. It was a true bargain. Small pumpkins like the ones we picked up at the farm, are almost $4 each at Sprouts. A big thanks to Kimray for the fun filled family gathering. And a great big thanks to the Orr family for fun place to spend a day with...
Read moreTickets are very expensive, wish they had cheaper prices for adults since mainly for kids. There are tons of large sized games( tick tack toe, foosball, pool, connect four, chess, checkers and more). They have two huge slides made from large back tubes which were modified for decent slide( even two at a time ). Tricycle racing, large play course, 3 decently long zip lines and more. Plus a pretty cool area called corn box( sandbox with corn). Train was out which sucked bc it's one of the best things there and wish online they would say so, but hay ride was smooth and great over view of farm but pretty short as it just goes from parking lot to the back (straight line) to pumpkin patch(must buy pumpkins, no longer free or small), and corn maze( huge and easy to get turned around or lost in). No halloween theme which I did like. BATHROOMS ALL OVER( PRETTY CLEAN). That was a major. Food and drinks minimal and price wise as you would go to a baseball game or state fair$$$. 40pk of water at Grocery store $4 those bottles are sold back to you for 3.95 each. You are able to purchase an Orr Family Farm Cup for $10 which refills are $0.99. They only take CARD there is NO CASH. It's pricy $$$ all the way(3 basic passes with tax and their fee totaled online to $61 ) which at the gate is $5 more.onlime $16.95 at gate $22.95. Adding cannon(8 or 10 balls), pony ride(5 full circles), gem stone mining costing $28.95 online or at gate $36.96 but for more money if didn't get expensive $$$ pass you can pay $$$ each thing separately. Place was also very well kept up with through grounds and as mentioned bathrooms. Fun for sure and pay to play all day! Prices mainly is why I gave 3 not 4 wishing for...
