UPDATED: 2 starts bumped to 4 stars after leaving.
Let me first be clear on this.. I am currently staying on property, checking in on a Tuesday and planned on staying until Friday. So far when greeted at the front.. OUTSTANDING! Very nice facilities and nice friendly staff. Streets, sites, area all clean and well mowed. Pool area, miniature golf, etc all very nice. Small and tight but nice and clean. The lounge and restaurant is not open yet. I think it will be nice when it does.
Now the not so good.. I think this is luck of the draw I guess. We have a modest 25' travel trailer so we really do not need a big spot. The staff said we were getting the NUMBER 1 requested site in the park. I find this hard to believe. First.. right beside us are full time cameras and the place (at least to say) is not tidy and they are up all night watching tv and lights on right outside our windows and I have two daughters trying to sleep. I thought quiet time was 10pm?
Second.. P4 is right along the highway. For some reason, there is a non stop parade of dump trucks going down NE 63rd street literally non stop. It starts early in the morning and doesn't stop until almost dark which in the summer time is late.
Third, across the street is some sort of Public Works building and it looks like OU Stadium lit up for Night Football Game in the fall. I am serious... it ridiculous. Only nice thing about this public place is the small park area that is a little better for bigger kids. The one here in the park is made for 3 year olds.
4th, the cable channels are all fuzzy, bad audio and over half do not work. It's really bad.. so if you are banking on this for an extended stay, you will be disappointed to say the least.
So... we have a few days to go. I am sure there are other sites on campus that are quiet, shady and maybe less light and nice neighbors. We just did not get that lucky. I did ask to change sites and the only place they had left was very very small and no shade. Now I don't blame that on the park, 4th of July is close.
I do however blame pricing. I think there should be a serious discount given to us who are along the highway.
More to come..
I am going to bump up the review to 4 stars and here is why.. my kids LOVED IT! And all in all I did too. The dump trucks are something I don't think they can control. They will get the rest of the park fixed and repaired and the fishing pond will look nice for sure. I wish they had a system similar to a hotel.. one credit card on file and charge everything to my room/site. At $50.00 per night that would be nice.
The park store is nice though. Wish they had some arcade games. Ping pong table does not have a net. The mini golf is $2.50 per person. Bathrooms VERY clean!
One other nice thing would be camp activities for the kids or adults. Horse shoe contests, crafts...
Read moreI stayed in this park for over a month. The park itself is a pretty nice park other than the fact that it was so close to a freeway interchange. Nearly all of the spaces, even the ones in the gravel area, were level concrete slabs that accommodated my 42 ft fifth wheel just fine, but I had to leave my truck in the gravel in front of the space because the slab wasn't long enough. Water pressure didn't seem to be an issue. It was noticably lower between 5am and 7am on weekdays, but still fine for showering. The noise levels were on the high side compared to a few other parks I've stayed at across the country. My space was maybe 40ft - 50ft from the actual road and there was a contact rumble from tractor-trailer rigs going by and the occasional jake brake growl.
Check-in process was easy, but they leave the front gate closed even during business hours. They do provide a gate code on the phone if you call ahead for reservations. I was told it was to deter theft during the day when most campers are out doing other things. Evidently there had been a couple incidents where someone had their propane tanks stolen in broad daylight.
They listed several amenities, but there was always a reason why one of those amenities wasn't available. One of the people I spoke to prior to my arrival told me I could get my own dedicated internet connection, but when I arrived and asked what service to call, I was told it wasn't available. I asked about spa services on site, one of the amenities I was assured would be available when I arrived, and I was told that it had been closed because the woman who did the massage got caught doing things she wasn't supposed to during the massages and they hadn't found a replacement. I was told that cable was available at every site, but when I connected to it, the signal was weak and most of the channels had static and were difficult to watch. I never used the limo service they have available to nearby locations, but then again, most of what I did wasn't nearby.
They do have a bar and grill on site. The food I tried was lackluster and a little on the pricey side. The staff was very friendly and willing to talk with guests about whatever happened to be the topic of the day. Emily, who is only there between 5pm and 10pm is a sweetheart! The park staff was all very friendly, I'm just not impressed with how the owners are managing it. I spoke with several other campers around me and it seemed like most of them were full timers staying here long term. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and personable.
Overall, I would recommend this park even if it is a little more expensive than others in the area. The rate I paid for one month was $695. For comparison, Roadrunner RV park, which is closer to downtown OKC, was $620 for the month. I suppose it all depends on location and where...
Read moreWe stayed at Twin Fountains RV Resort for a week in October 2023. This is an odd campground, with both good and bad points. They called us in advance the day of arrival (while we are obviously busy driving) to charge our card, which is odd, since normally any necessary information is emailed in advance. This is a very hilly park hich makes it difficult for big rigs like ours to find level sites that are large enough. We saw several rigs drag their jacks on pavement and scrape tree limbs. Level terraces with retaining walls would have made more sense when designing this park, but at this point, it is what it is. Some sites are better than others, so if you can inspect the site in advance and the route to and from, that would be very useful, but unofortunately they do not have an online reservation system with site photos and measurements, which would be particularly helpful given the issues with many of the sites in this park. The park is also fairly loud being right next to the interstate, but that's not uncommon. When we arrived to our site, we found sewage and toilet paper all around the sewer connection for our site. When we brought this to the office's attention, the man in the office seemed irritated. We asked for them to either clean it up or find another site for us. Eventually, some ladies came in and were able to find a different site for us. They mentioned they are having sewer problems, and we noticed them working on that site several times during our stay, presumably trying to resolve the issue. Still, if they know there is sewage on the ground, they should have arranged for a different site for us in advance, instead of waiting to see if we would notice? They have restrooms and a storm shelter, but the codes for those doors they provided did not work- which I consider to be a major safety issue. I brought this to their attention, and they obviously ignored me, as I checked again days later and the code they provided still did not work. The pool was closed (as expected in October) and the putt putt golf course had many leaves on it. The Semper Fi Bar & Grill is a neat addition with good food and reasonable prices, but the customer service is definitely hit or miss- we had one good experience, and one bad one. The on-site dog groomers are nice and did a good job. This park could use a proper large dog park- theirs are very small, and for some strange reason they don't want your dogs playing in the yard next to your RV. The laundry is reasonably priced but there were several machines...
