The charming Nauset House Inn, tastefully decorated with intriguing and quaint folk art pieces, is located within strolling distance of Nauset Beach. On a quiet night you can hear the ocean waves from the grounds and the rooms of the inn. In the morning you can listen to birds singing as you get ready for delicious hearty breakfasts made from scratch by the innkeepers. Unlike formal pretentious inns, at NHI there are no reserved time slots for breakfast (because no one should be watching the clock when on vacation, just show up by 9:30 am). Cindy and John, the innkeepers, are friendly and laid back, yet passionate about maintaining a clean, well-run inn and doing all they can to make their guests feel welcome. They genuinely care about their guests’ comfort, needs, and interests beyond the walls of the Inn. They happily make honest recommendations about restaurants, activities, and sites to visit, and even steer visitors away from overrated places.||Because of the Inn’s central location just above the Cape’s “elbow”, most of the recommended restaurants and sites are a short, under 45-minute, scenic ride away. If a destination requires more than 45 minutes of driving then it’s probably not worth it! There is so much conveniently located near NHI, from casual and fine restaurants in Orleans (and beyond), to the Cape Cod National Seashore, amazing hiking trails, beaches with roaring waves and calm tidal pools, whale watch cruises, history and nature museums, a pirate museum, eclectic stores for the discriminating shopper, sand dune rides in Provincetown, and so much more.||For those who want to absolutely take it easy and go nowhere, NHI has lawn chairs and chaise lounges, and tables for outside guest use. Or borrow a beach chair and towel, and take a stroll (or quick drive) to Nauset Beach for a day in the sun. And for those who need to stay connected with the rest of the world, the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, and cell coverage is excellent. ||With so many wonderful qualities, the best innkeepers around, rooms at reasonable rates, and little perks (did I mention the full size guest fridge/freezer?), there is no reason to stay anywhere else on Cape Cod. My days of sampling other Cape Cod inns ended when I discovered Nauset House Inn. Now I’m a repeat guest. Perhaps you will be too after you spend a night...

I am among the lucky people who found the Nauset House Inn over 25 years ago snd won’t go anywhere else on the Cape if I can help it. It has been my husband’s and my home away from home. Just driving down Beach Road toward the Inn makes you smile; your cares seem to float off your shoulders as soon as you drive up the drive. It’s hard to put into words what makes the Nauset House Inn unique;- perhaps above all it is the graciousness, kindness, and attention to detail of the lovely hosts, Cindy and John and their regular staff Marcia and Judy. They took over this place from Cindy’s parents and have maintained and improved upon its wonderful qualities. The rooms are beautiful and restful, decorated with Diane’s stencils and artwork. The atmosphere is more than welcoming; it is essentially nurturing. The living room features games, books and restful places to sit and chat with others. A wide yard with shade trees is another lovely place to be. The breakfasts are magnificent , as many other people have commented. Guests sit at two long tables at breakfast, and strike up conversations with strangers who soon become friends. I have met some of the most wonderful people there and hope to continue doing so. The Inn is less than a mile from Nauset Beach and central to many local attractions John and Cindy will help you find. They’ll also suggest good restaurants and make your dinner reservations. Thank you, John and Cindy, for all you are and all you do to make the Nauset House Inn such a...

My husband and I stayed at the Nauset House Inn for the first time just a few weeks ago for a 2-night getaway before the busy summer season on the Cape. The owners, Cindy & John, and the staff we met, Judy & Marsha, are warm and friendly and make you feel at home from the minute you arrive. We stayed in the Wild Strawberry Room, located on the first floor with a private bath outside the room...everything is immaculate, clean, with great attention to detail. The grounds are private, quiet, and very pretty. | We enjoyed meeting others who were staying at the inn during the afternoon wine hour....and, as mentioned in the other reviews, the homemade breakfasts are absolutely amazing! The Inn is centrally located on the Cape and close to the beach(beach chairs and towels provided if needed), which we visited each day. We strolled though the nearby shops in Chatham, rode bikes on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, viewed an amazing sunset at Rock Harbor, and enjoyed great food/drink at some of the local eating establishments (Rock Harbor Grill, Cottage Street Bakery, Hot Chocolate Sparrow, to name a few). Staying at the Nauset House Inn was so relaxing and felt like "home"....we've already highly recommended it to others can't...
