I recently visited Bald Mountain with a group of 5 friends, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a trip filled with disappointment. We purchased lift tickets only to find out that the lift wasn't operational, we then waited for an hour at the bottom of the hill to hope they could start it up again. To make matters worse, the lift broke down before we could even enjoy a single run. Locals informed us that this was a common occurrence, happening multiple times a day.
So then people started walking up the hill while select others were getting taken up by skimobles. One of the workers was flying up the hill at least 50MPH with a little girl on this two-seater skimoble, which was scary to watch. I'll let you visualize for yourself.
After we got to the top, we decided to politely ask the ticket seller for a refund, who told us to find a lady who was busy giving lessons. After waiting for her to be finished, she then told us to find the chef inside the cafe who can help us with the refund. THEN the chef argued with us over how they are non-profit and said we needed to reach the "president" to potentially get a refund. We then waited in the cafe for when a man from the "board of directors" member approached us who cursed at us before storming off. They basically made it impossible to get our refunds even though someone with the position of board of directors easily should be able to help us out. Subsequent calls the next day for assistance were met with offensive language and an abrupt hang-up. The unprofessionalism and lack of customer service were shocking.
The atmosphere at the resort was unwelcoming, with a tight-knit community that made us feel like outsiders. The stares and lack of hospitality were uncomfortable, to say the least.
Facility-wise, there were significant issues, including poor food safety practices, clueless staff, and an overall lack of efficiency. Traveling six hours to be knowingly sold tickets for a malfunctioning lift raises serious concerns about the resort's commitment to customer satisfaction.
While I understand the resort is run by volunteers, this is no way to act to new patrons and expect them to want to come back or...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of visiting this ski resort, and the experience was nothing short of a disaster. I feel compelled to share my disappointment with others to spare them from a similar ordeal.
To begin with, the ski lift was out of order for the entire day, leaving patrons unable to enjoy the slopes they paid to access. When I approached the staff about a potential refund due to the inconvenience, I was met with a flat-out refusal. The lack of customer service and unwillingness to address such a glaring issue was shocking.
The overall atmosphere at the resort was marred by the rudeness of both staff and fellow patrons. The employees displayed a concerning lack of knowledge about the resort's operations, making it clear that professionalism and competence were not a priority. Safety policies seemed nonexistent, putting visitors at a high risk.
The kitchen facilities were not only dirty but also grossly unhealthy, raising serious concerns about hygiene and food safety. It was disheartening to witness such blatant disregard for basic cleanliness standards.
Adding to the unpleasant experience were the dirty looks from everyone present and an overall sense of weird vibes. It seems that a toxic atmosphere permeates the entire resort, making it an uncomfortable environment for guests.
To top it all off, when I attempted to address my grievances with the owner, I was met with a verbal tirade that included profanity. A resort owner should be a beacon of professionalism and customer service, but this individual fell far short of those expectations.
In summary, this ski resort is a prime example of how a lack of maintenance, poor customer service, and an overall disregard for patrons' well-being can turn what should be an enjoyable experience into an absolute nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different destination for your...
Read moreWill sell you tickets knowing their lift isn't operational and refuse refunds. Avoid at all costs. We didn't get a single run in before their only lift broke down and couldn't be fixed. According to a few locals, this is a regular occurrence and the lift goes out of operation multiple times a day.
When politely inquiring about any possible refund options considering we paid for a full-day lift ticket and were not able to ride it once, we were met with open hostility, and a red-face meltdown from a member of the board of directors who cursed us out several times before storming off.
We called a number that we were referred to the following day, again politely asking about a potential refund and the response, word for word, was "F* off C*sucker" and a hang-up.
It's operated & used by what seems like a small, tight-knit, unwelcoming community of very "rural" Idahoans. Be prepared to be treated as an outsider and gawked at. Our group got nothing but slack-jawed stares from folks who acted as if they had never seen someone outside of their family tree or ventured outside the panhandle.
We drove 6 hours to be knowingly sold a ticket for a lift that doesn't work. Their food-safety practices are atrocious, facilities are severely lacking, workers are clueless, clientele are creepy, and management is openly hostile, unprofessional...
