They gave my parents’ handicapped room away. I booked a double queen handicapped room on their website with a credit card. I had a valid reservation. When I arrived, they put me in a standard room. The lady at the desk seemed agitated with me when I asked about it. They then offered a king room and asked if that would work. I told them it would not because there were three of us. At that point, I had to ask for a cancellation. She did something on the computer and said “it’s canceled.” I had to ask for a cancellation number. I then asked her what I had done wrong and, with a heavy sigh as if I was bothering her, she answered “nothing.” At that point, I didn’t feel like I should take up any more of her time so I said I would leave. I then called and asked to talk to a manager and explained the situation. She explained they gave the room away yesterday and had nothing to offer because they were overbooked and they couldn’t guarantee room type. So, what’s the point in booking a room here? Both of my parents have mobility issues and need a handicapped room so they have grab bars in the bathroom. I wouldn’t have booked this room if I knew they wouldn’t guarantee the room type. I drove 300 miles today only to find out my room was gone. I then had to scramble to book a different room over 50 miles away. Thank you guys so much for a rotten experience; I hope you are satisfied with how you treated me. See attached for a screenshot of the reservation confirmation email I got from their reservation system when I booked over a month ago. Be forewarned, fellow travelers, these reservations are meaningless and, apparently, if you don’t check in a full 24 hours in advance, they will give your room away like they did...
Read moreI stayed here 7 days on a deer hunting trip: My feedback.||The Good:||The room was decent sized.|The prime rib was good. |The burger & fries are good.|Conveniently located for other needs. |You can walk from your room down the hall to the restaurant and casino floor. |The entry of hotel has a nice coffee station and snacks. ||The Bad:||Only really 1 restaurant and doesn’t open till 9 am. So no early breakfast. |Buffett only on Fri,Sat,Sun and wasn’t all that for a casino. Good stuff is always gone. |Small dinner menu so long stays get old. It’s either, prime rib, burger &. fries, salad or salmon. With a few small finger items scattered in.|They won’t clean your room until you check out. On day 5 I had to bribe cleaning lady in my hall to vacuum and supply me new towels, TP and empty trash cans. |No coffee machine in rooms. You have to get dressed and go to lobby coffee station. |Casino will take every dime and does not payout. Played almost everyday and never won a bonus real, never won on auto roulette wheel, people are walking back & forth looking because it’s so small and they aren’t winning. 1 black Jack table, 1 craps table, 2 poker tables, that’s it. Half of the slots are on 2nd floor while rest are on 1st floor so you have to take an escalator back & forth. No ATM on casino floors, you have to leave and go to a hall to find one. |Room was dated and the staff never smile. I mean never. They won’t even return a good morning. The motel staff were just not happy people. |So in my opinion, this is not a vacation or trip casino / Hotel. It’s a stay over on a trip place. It’s not a gamblers friend. ...
Read moreOur stay was fine. The bed was comfortable enough, pillows flatten really easily/quickly. We got the breakfast buffet the next morning. The potato casserole had way too much peppers in it for all of our liking, that's all we could taste. For $15 it was far from worth the money. Service at the front desk is always nice but it would be nice if the hottub in the pool area would be up and running at any time. The last few times we've gone there it's been "down" or 1 reason or another. I did like that we were able to bring our dog out to stay with us.
Lakeside just commented on my review saying they were happy I had a positive stay. I was being generous giving the stars that I did. There is ALWAYS something broken either in the roo. Or in the "spa" area. It may have been nice to be able to take our dog with us but honestly the rest of the stay wasn't great. The food isn't good quality and it is over priced. The pillows in the room are weak but what hotel's pillows aren't now a days. And the rooms always seem to smell funny, not bad but definitely not good. Also the water pressure in the showers is horrible, you might as well...
