Once again, whether or not this campground is "for you" depends on what you want to get out of camping.||||The website touts pickleball, disc golf, 2 small lakes (one with power boat access and one without), among other things. All of that is technically true, but the pickleball course is one small, run down court with a droopy net surrounded by 10' chainlink fence squeezed in to an area next to the check in area. It doubles as the basketball court (hoops with no nets). This may not matter to most, but we had 2 in our party who are busy young men, and sports facilities matter. The ping pong table in the adult lounge area was a pleasant surprise for them, but we never bothered to find the disc golf after the pickleball dissappointment.||||The campground itself is uber quiet with no light pollution and no traffic noise. It is amazingly remote, which was a pleasant surprise. It is definitely old, and has probably 95% seasonal campers. By my count, only 10 sites are available to rent for the summer, unless some of the waterfront sites on little Dan Hole are available (I did not check). The place was fairly empty when we were there, as at least half of the seasonals were empty and a lot of them appeared to not have been opened this year. A lot of the seasonals have seen better days. The bathrooms were old and not up to par with similar area campgrounds, but functional. All sites are full hookup.||||The campground layout is challenging. It is a long (? 1 mile) road that snakes around a mountain, with roads (10 or so) branching off in the same direction to the lakes, each having about 10-15 sites arranged in the woods. Hilly, as a description, is a huge understatement. This place is HUGE so it seems like the office is in another town. I occasionally bring my elderly mom camping; she would not have been able to maneuver this place. I would not recommend bikes for young children due to the hills.||||The 2 lakes/pounds are nice. Deep, clean, and quiet. The kayaking and SUPping were spot on, and there was a resident loon couple with 2 fledgling juveniles.||||There is a gate to access, and the folks were very nice. It seems secure.||||Do you want to camp here? It depends, again, on what type of camping you like. Smallish sites where you are in the woods but clearly see the seasonals that surround you, VERY hilly, old but clean bathrooms, full hookups, water access, quiet. I would go back, but it is not in my...
Read moreWe’ve camped here since 2001. It’s a gorgeous quiet area and we’ve loved it. Unfortunately it is no longer family owned and it shows in the lack of attention to the facilities. The shower house/restrooms were always cleaned multiple times a day and well stocked. We never took that for granted and appreciated it. This year we had been there four days with no one in sight to tend to the facilities. Clogged toilets, nasty showers and an absence of paper towels in more than half of the bathrooms. We were able to get a message to the management and they were surprised that they weren’t cleaned and promised someone would clean. It seems that someone’s idea of cleaning was to throw some bleach in there so it smells clean. (A more generous take would be there was a lack of training.) Showers still gross , toilet still clogged and still no paper towels. It was exactly the same status when we left after a week. The store hours have been reduced which means there is no way to contact management after hours except through a Facebook message. The icing on the cake…when we checked out and reserved for next year the rate had increased over 30%! Their rates were always lower than many but that’s quite a hike for one season. We still love Terrace Pines and think it’s a wonderful place to camp but hope they can earn back the stellar reputation they’ve enjoyed...
Read moreWhen we left after a week in Sept 2023 we booked 2 full weeks one in July and one in August. Paid in full as per policy. We had been going to terrace pines for 6 years and we're happy.||Fast forward to March. Work schedule changed and we needed to cancel our June stay. Tried to use the website to cancel but it would not go thru. Tried to call several times a week no answer. Not able to leave a vm due to it being full. Sent several emails explaining the situation and mentioned we had realized the cc we used was no longer available and wanted to make sure we got our money back and they were able to get the site rented. Mistakingly thought they would send a check to the person who made the reservation at the address. No response. After 3 weeks sent message to corporate. Did get.our money right away.||What we didn't know was the person at corporate decided we were rude and cancelled our August reservation. They did not.notify us or refund our money isn't that.rude. ||We only found out before we showed up at the site because we wanted to add a day on to our trip. After several call it was determined this corporate person had cancelled our reservation and banned us from future stays. ||We were able to find another place to stay at 1/2 the price. Dumpsters taken care of, and wireless coverage for our cells. No issues with...
