I would 100% recommend this hotel! So, I won't lie. I was absolutely skeptical when I first arrived. I've never been out this way and didn't realize how rural it was. The hotel is right across the bridge when you enter Indiana just outside rockport. I didn't expect much based on prior reviews but let me tell you, this is the BEST hotel I've ever stayed in. (We don't do resort hotels) The owners are so incredibly kind. They checked in with us frequently as we were coming or going to ensure we had everything we needed. I was traveling with my toddler and they were so kind with her.
The room we rented was 2 queen beds, both comfortable, clean and well maintained. They even took the time to fold the rags in a nice pattern. Amazing little touch! Wifi was quick, showers were hot and great pressure. Microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge in the room as well. Plenty of outlets and a nice flat-screen TV. I was even able to hook up my Nintendo switch to the TV and play a few games! The hotel was nice and quiet and I got a great night's sleep both nights.
Breakfast had a good variety of pastries, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, sausage and cereals. Coffee, orange juice and milk. My little especially enjoyed the yogurt.
The only bummer was they were having issues with their pool but I really wanna brag on the owners because they did absolutely everything they could to get it fixed before we left so my daughter had the opportunity to swim.
There are not many options within 5 miles for food but you can drive back into owensboro and find basically anything you want within 10/12 miles. Door dash does deliver with reasonable fees as well. We had a Meijer deliver during our stay even!
I would 100% stay here again if I'm...
Read moreMy family and I stayed for 3 days at this location. First, it’s literally in the middle of nowhere. Next door is a huge coal power plant and our phones were going off everyday for poor air quality alerts. Very minimal food options within 10 miles. We did have Los Panchos and Brothers grub which is a mile up the road. Both were delicious. Now to the hotel… our room was somewhat clean. Upon entering it was musty and smelled of cigarettes. The pillow cases in our king suite were dirty. The bedding on the fold out bed was used and hadn’t been changed. The tv and Wi-Fi hardly worked. Staff was odd to say the least. The hot tub was drained which was a big let down and the indoor pool was literally the hottest water I’ve ever felt. We had to ask the receptionist to turn the heat down and a day later it was still awkwardly hot. We have never felt a pool with water as hot as this it was crazy. We asked for a late checkout because we are choice hotel members and was told no. Breakfast was tater tot’s, sausage links, eggs, gravy, toast, bagels, waffles and yogurts. Not the best but did the job. They have 1 washer and 1 dryer for the entire facility. There are no automatic doors so if you are handicapped I suggest going elsewhere. I believe the owners or management are Indian and either live or stay in the hotel. The entire floor we stayed on smelled of Indian food and strong spices (which I love!) but if you don’t that could be a problem. There is also only 1 luggage cart for the entire hotel as well. Overall the hotel fit what we needed for the short stay. We changed out our pillow cases with ones we brought and made due. Good luck if you stay here. Seems like a hit or miss place. 2 star...
Read moreService was poor or nonexistent. For example: we asked for maid service on the 3rd day of our stay as we needed fresh towels and both bath and facial tissues. We told the front desk staff that we would be out all day so that the room would be clear. When we returned no one had touched the room or provided the items needed. Their excuse, that they hadn't entered because there was no answer when they knocked. They did eventually deliver the needed items. The next day when we returned we had received maid service. The carpet and upholstered chair were filthy and disgusting. The carpet wasn't particularly worn, but looked like stains had just been left without any attempt of clean them. The chair was stained, faded and needed to be replaced. Useless! The complimentary breakfast was from 6-8 but by 7 there were no sausages or waffle batter. A request for batter got me a cup and when a dozen or so more guests came soon after both the batter and sausages were replenished. That did nothing to address the ants crawling on the counter and on the eggs of at least one guest. Tried the breakfast twice and the ants were there both days. Spoke with other guests who had stayed several times and all agreed that things had declined severely. The cable was out for at least 2 days. I say "at least" because the desk personnel continued to act like it was the first they'd heard of it. There was never access to local or network channels or new. Lastly, the pool was closed for the entire time we were there. While I didn't want to use it, many of the guests were families who were certainly...
