There are plenty of hot springs in the world and plenty of wellness spaces to retreat from the world but there is nothing like the magic of Maple Grove.
The road in is rocky, there is no cell service (though you can get a few messages out/in via satellite) and it’s not the Ritz. Though honestly, that is part of the magic.
I’ve been going since 2019 and have stayed for a half day of soaking, in multiple yurts and the stone shelters. (Stoked to try the cabin next 🤞🏼) Highly recommend staying for 2 nights if you can swing it! Being able to get set up in your room and then not have any responsibilities or service for a full 48 hours is actually healing, I’m pretty sure.
My idea of a perfect Maple Grove experience: Book two nights in a stone shelter and head up as early as check in time will allow. We stop in Logan for sandwiches at Old Grist Mill then eat them on the riverbank at Maple before unpacking. I love spending the afternoon swimming, canoeing and paddle boarding in the river and then cooking dinner on our private grill or going to the patio where they have an open grill anyone can use if I feel like being social. Then as the sun starts setting we get into the hot springs with dips into the river to cool down or if it’s cold, act like we are the epitome of wellness with a lil cold plunge in the river. You. Must. Do. The. Full. Sauna. Ritual. You must. Read the instructions and follow it to a tee. I think my besties and I met God during our first time using that new sauna. That’s a bit dramatic, but the experience was incredible. We play board games (there’s just something about playing Clue by lantern light in a little yurt with people you love) until the stars come out then take advantage of the best part of overnight stays: 24 HOUR ACSESS AND HOT SPRINGS UNDER THE STARS WITH SO LITTLE LIGHT POLLUTION. I actually cried the first time I was sitting in one in the middle of the night and looked at the dark, beautiful river, heard a fish jump and looked up at the stars. It takes your breath away. Then you sleep better than you’ve ever slept in your life and can wake up whenever you want and get coffee in the river house. We make an easy breakfast and then go back to soaking up our time on the river. We bring camp chairs that we set up halfway out of the water and stay cool while reading our books and soaking up the sun. We’ll bring little crafts to do together and really adopt the “slow living” lifestyle while we are there. I’ve been with my husband, my girlfriends and family. Each experience was magical. The hosts change but each pair was so kind, thoughtful and protective of the land.
If you have a negative experience with a host I’d bet money you were acting in a way that was disrespectful of either the land or the patrons. I for one, am thankful, for hosts and owners so dedicated to protecting this space while making it more and more accessible. I feel like every time I go there is some new project or idea on how to make Maple Grove a better place.
It’s more than a place to camp or some hot springs. It’s a community, it’s healing and it’s a place you can choose to opt out of the fast paced, capital driven lifestyle.
What it boils down to though, is it’s what you make it. If you’re not touched by stars with no light pollution and would rather have room service than the possibility of a cute lil critter in your room…this is not the place for you. You’re in nature—with some pretty dope amenities for somewhere so remote. I love...

dallin roach 2/5 59 minutes ago on Google So I have been coming here for years since I was in Highschool. Been through a few owners. It was always my favorite place to soak with my friends on the weekend. Now with the new owners it looks really nice updated and cleaned up. Love the atmosphere there, Still one of my favorite hot springs. However Few things I don't like. The scheduling is a pain too deal with. Orginally from what I thought it was book in advance and very strict due to covid back then least is what they told me. However they still are doing the same scheduling. Which is a pain especially if you and your family wanna soak for the day. Nope expect a few days and rare cases weeks out. Gotta reserve everything ahead and even then you may not have a spot. Lastly the price years ago was 8$ a entry. Then they raised it to 10$ then 12$ then 15$ then 18$ dang!!! They do however give a 3$ discount for idaho residents with an ID. I got the wellness warrior pass a year ago. It was worth it at the time because it was 100$ a year about 10 passes. With that you didn't need to schedule a time you just went in anytime and they let you in whenever. Then after my 10 times using it they upped the price to 120$ for the 10 time warriors pass. By then it felt like it wasn't even worth getting one anymore even tho I planned too buy one every year. So overall great place great view alot of fun things especially if you wanna camp there. They really did a good job renovating and cleaning the place up. I just wish they figured out a better way for customers too stop by and soak without the hassle. Could be a lil cheaper like it use too be but understandable with inflation. Overall great place but If your looking for a quick soak last minute with family and Friends might as well go elsewhere.
Edit for my response to the owner. As I said above I got my warriors pass a lil over a year ago when it was 100$ so that was 10$ a visit at the time which expires in a yr even if you dont use all 10 passes. They still helped and extended it for me so that was nice. Then the price went up for all soak passes. Use too be 15 orginally 12 for idaho resident. Now it's 18 with 15 being a idaho resident. I get everything's expensive now days. I just hope your guys can maybe go back to the orginal 15 one day. But that's still fine you guys have a good resort. I just would like scheduling a visit wasn't so difficult especially for a quick soak. Thought that it would go back to how it use to just pay and go in After covid restrictions being lifted. That's mostly the biggest downside for me. Besides that you guys are a good business and really enjoy what you've done with the place. It's just more expensive and a hassle I feel too alot of the locals who just want a quick soak. Don't mean any disrespect to you guys just...
Read moreWe just had a two night stay (9/5/2020-9/7/2020) for a girls weekend getaway and it was heavenly! We were looking for a secluded area to enjoy a soak and unwind while being safe and away from the crowds. We found all that and more with this small, serene camping/glamping resort. We felt like we had the resort to ourselves as management does not allow this resort to become overcrowded. There was never more than 6-8 people in each pool at any given time. Overnight guests have access to the pools 24/7.
We stayed in one of the small yurts. It was super close to the three small hot springs pools and had a wonderful view of the river from the porch. The yurt was clean and has plenty of room for 2-3 people. The parking is also very close to the yurts, so carrying luggage and cooking equipment was a breeze.
We especially appreciated the CoVid precautions management enforced with social distancing and cleanliness. Helped us feel safe and secure.
We brought our little Coleman camp stove and cooked all our meals at the yurt but there is a community patio that has a community campfire and large gas grill available to prepare food on. The resort did offer tin foil dinners available for purchase ($15/each). They must be pre-ordered and can be cooked on the community fire or the grill. We didn’t buy the tin foil dinners, only because we had already prepared all our meals ahead of time but heard other guests say they were delicious.
The resort offers bath robes but not towels, so be sure to pack your own towels.
The main building, the River House has a bathroom and one shower in the women’s locker room. It was very clean and appeared well maintained.
My only tips would be to wear water shoes when walking to the pools as the trail to the pools is small gravel and can be a little tricky walking back in flip flops and wet feet. But not a major deal. Also plan to bring a flashlight or lantern (lanterns provided in tents/yurts) with you to the pools as there is very little lighting along the trail and you’ll need some light to get back to your tent, yurt or other options.
This was our first visit but it seems this resort has had a lot of different managements in the past. The new/current owners (Jordan and Jaynee) have managed the property for roughly two years. They are wonderful and joined the guests each night for a soak and seemed genuinely interested in making sure everyone’s needs were appropriately being met, answered any questions and helped make sure everyone was enjoying their time.
This resort is very peaceful. It’s quiet, serene and presents a great opportunity to unwind and relax. Morning and evening yoga is also offered and appeared to be well attended.
There is no cell service, which helps add to the unplugged atmosphere the resort offers.
There seems to be something for everyone here. If you want to tent camp, trailer/RV camp or stay in one of the yurts, cabins or canvas tents, you will be pleased and leave rested and feeling rejuvenated.
We can’t...
