This used to be my favorite campground, and considering I don't own ATV's or dirt bikes that's saying a lot! It's very rustic here, little cell service, very open, and if you plan accordingly, quiet and peaceful. However at the beginning of 2024 they raised their prices! It used to be $15 for an electric site, $10 for non-electric, and $45 for a group site. Which I thought was very reasonable, considering water hookups were sporadic and only were in "host" spots, and no dump station (the closest is in Springfield, 20 miles away). Now, an electric site is $25, a non-electric is $15, and the group sites are now $75. STILL only sporadic water hookups, STILL no dump station. Granted this campground is one of the very few that allow ATV's and has access to trails, but other campsites have the same with closer and more amenities, and their prices have not changed. In fact their prices are what the prices here have increased to. Considering the price hike, with no more than 4 flush toilets/sex, 6 vault toilets, 4 showers, no playground, no "designated" picnic area, and no plans of improving the amenities, I will consider...
Read moreFirst of all, our host meet us at the front area with a smile and a hand shake. Took us back to our spot, went over a few important facts, gave us a map of the trails and some advice shared by other riders. The camp site was very clean and ready for us to move in. It was very hot and we needed about 50ft more cord, the outlet was 30 ft from edge of camp site, so take enough cord if you are using the electrical outlet. Facilities were clean and stocked ,the trails were in this order. Green easy, blue intermediate and black diamond hard then the red....meaning you can get down there but getting out needs a winch so pay attention. We did 95 miles in 2.5 days we had mid 90cool 60 rain wind and the low flying helicopters. Never saw 🐻 saw plenty of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Hats off to Hugh the host we are already planning our next trip to The Cobb Ridge Campground ...oh ya the atv riding was some of the best we have been on in the past 7 years, take your time enjoy the forest, leave it better than...
Read moreNice campground. Clean restrooms and well maintained sites. No wifi and very limited cell service. Reasonably quiet in the evening and overnight, but a little noisy during the day as there is ATV and motorcycle trails offered. Not a big issue because the riders are pretty respectful of others when entering and exiting. There are fire pits with grills and picnic tables at the individual sites along with lantern holders. A limited number of sites have electric service, but as far as I know, no water or sewer hookups. There is at least one water hydrant available for community use. Most sites...
