So normally I would rate this camp ground at 4 or 5 but my last trip made me drop a star. When there everything was fine until night 2 when the water went out at the site. Meaning the showers toilets and even spouts for drinking, coking, dish water etc quit working. We where on a 5 day trip and that was essential. Because you couldnt flush the waste built up from all the campers (we drove down the street to byrds as my wife is 8 months pregnant and needs facilities and my sister in law needed them to for lady reasons) made the area around the bathrooms smell horrible. Other then that the facility is a little dated but works you are camping after all do its not glamping, plus where I am from, Utah, only facilities you see are vaulted outhouses as weather is to extreme and to remote for electric and running water so that is always a luxury for me. Great kayak, canoe, or floating area. It is even nice to fish off of. Sites are nice but some fire rings and grills over them are old and falling apart. Our table at this site was settling and one bench was moving close to the table and the bench was lose. Has a great hiking trail coming out of the site. The site sits on a ton of ohv trails and also jeep or 4x4 trails to. Over all great place to camp. Just...
Read moreNot family friendly while we were here. The authorities need to swing through here from time to time. 4-wheelers and side by sides romping through camp after midnight, along with loud music, whoopin and hollering all night by partiers, sure makes it hard to sleep. There were dogs running loose, coming into our camp and also barking at my children as they approached the restroom. Also, a whole group openly smoking pot at the river landing. It's a beautiful place with a lot of potential, but it seems anything goes. With dozens of more monitored campsites near, it's not likely we'll return here..... And now as I type at 10 am, the competition for the loudest camp radio has...
Read moreJust loved the Mulberry river for Kayaking! We decided to get out here on this river run. We met one of the maintenance men for the park, he was so nice and helpful, guided us to where we could park and that if we need anything to let him know.
The steps out of the river make it simple and easy to get out! Way better than Turner Benz vertical climb. Only 5 to 6 steps and tiered landscape to help you get your kayak out of The Mulberry.
We really enjoyed this park and wolf end on this trip, we to do this river run again and so glad to support our state park. The three dollar parking charge at both places, and...
