Worst experience ever. Birthday= ruined. Spent a fortune here for absolutely nothing.

Let me preface this by saying I have wanted to see Antelope Canyon for years and I begged my boyfriend to reserve this place on Airbnb for my birthday because I thought it would be an amazing experience and it had great reviews. We drove 16 HOURS from Texas to stay here and if we had known it would be such a horrible waste of money we would have stayed home.

First of all, the host did not message us at all after reserving until around 3pm the day of (we were still driving) and never told us a check in time or that our private tour would be that day. Because of this lack of communication, we assumed the private canyon tour time would be discussed and decided on when we arrived. Unfortunately that was not the case, even though the host never reached out to us to say that our tour was at 4pm. If we had known we would have left a day earlier so we would have made it on time but they offered no solution or reschedule or refund for the tour we allegedly missed. It is also allegedly a self check in but there was never a tent set up for us? We literally had to pitch our own tent (thankfully we had one), so I’m confused what we paid $300+ for….. If all we were getting was a spot to set up a tent we could have went literally anywhere else and paid $20 for a spot. They then told us that because there was a solar eclipse the next morning that they would be closed and that we could not have a tour the next day. They never offered a refund even though they were at fault for not communicating when the tour would be. Such a rip off if you ask me. Wouldn’t have even left a review if they had apologized and at least refunded us the difference that the private tour added to the cost of our stay but they could not even admit their wrong.

Let me also say if you are planning on getting a “private” camping site, they are not private whatsoever😂 We had a random man creeping on us the entire time from 50ft away. They also have random unleashed dogs that wander around? Scared the daylights out of us all night thinking there were coyotes or some other wild animal circling and scratching on our tent all night long. I could literally go on all day about what a horrible experience this place was but I will leave it at that. Do not waste your money on this I’m sure you could find way nicer and cooler places to stay than a place that steals your money and provides not even the...

I am writing to report a potentially fraudulent handling of a reservation. Their web site has very vague definition of tours offered @ antelope, and when I reserved, I was looking for guided upper and lower antelope. The web site has no mention of cancellation policy (only the confirmation email says "all sales final"). When I called to confirm, Mr. Richardson, the owner, said it is not a guided tour that I was looking for. When I asked to cancel the reservation, he directed me to a site nativeamericantours.com, whose email as well as phone number are not functional. Moreover, actual charge on me credit card happened from his company, Antelope Hogan. For each call , he kept giving the same answer, and never responded to emails. I am at a dead end now with the $640 I spent for a tour that is not of any use to me , and with no cancellation policy. I am still waiting on a response to my emails. I am disappointed and actually scared in making reservations. with no protection or mention...

My family really enjoyed staying in Richardson's hogan. Richardson is a great host. He's happy to share stories about his family and about the Navajo community. When we arrive, he had everything prepared in the hogan for us and had used a method to cool it down some before we arrived. The cots are padded and each have a blanket. We brought pillows and would have needed extra blankets in cool weather. The cots were comfortable. On our first night, we were up to look at the stars. I have never seen so many. We also had a large dog come visit us one night who was an absolute sweetheart. He stayed with us all night and then left at sunrise, not before laying down in our sunrise pictures. (Best picture ever!) We also met someone riding through on a horse that was also very friendly. It was quiet and peaceful and we were so happy that Richardson provided this experience for us. Also, we had Richardson deliver us Navajo tacos one night. I highly...

My family and I have a great experience. Just booked 2 canyon tours, we didn't stay at this location. We loved the tour, Sean our guide was great, explaining about the change on the rock colors, about the names of the canyons and the best places to take pictures. He took the best pictures for us! He lead us throughout the passages and with no rush we have chance to admire the beauty around us and take memorable pictures. The price is high but similar to the rest of the tours with the difference that we traveled in a confortable closed car and we were by ourselves in the canyons. We saw the other tours traveling in the back of an open truck( all the sand hitting the face) and big groups.

Great experience, Richardson was very responsive and accommodated us last minute. Beautiful under the starlit sky. Only the faint sound of highways nearby. Wood stove inside for heat and cooking. Earthen floor—bring slippers or walk barefoot and wipe your feet when going into bed. Be prepared the beds are minimalist, stretchers elevated on legs, with a thin padded mattress, no pillows. They’re legit surfaces to sleep on, just minimalist. Breakfast is a traditional corn dish, hard boiled egg, coffee, and traditional tea. Overall, we expected more food, it was okay. A little pricey for what we got, but great experience.

We went for dinner but came out with so much more. Amazing place and Richardson was such a gracious host. He shared a very special Navaho tea and the best fry bread I’ve ever had. Light and fluffy. Silence is golden and this place is rich with peace and quiet, beautiful sunset and stars galore. Highly recommend this experience.
