Awesome trail. Dog friendly. 6$ for the day. Definitely a challenging hike though if you are trying to make it all the way to buckskin gultch. I clocked my hike totaling close to 17 miles out and back, that's with some detours along the way. Took about 6-7 hours. 100% worth the distance and time. Beautiful scenery start to finish.

I suggest to wear water proof shoes or bring some sandles to use because you are fallowing the little creek thats inside paria canyon. At some areas you have to cross the river with no rocks or logs to keep you out of the water. Bring plenty of water !!!!!!! I used 4 liters between me and my yellow lab and utilized all of it, probably should have packed 5 liters. Most of the trail is shaded though some areas are open to the sun so hats or sunblock...

A nice, cheap ($5 honor box), and isolated campsite. Grills, fire ring, and nice non-flush bathrooms! Off the main highway, two miles down a dirt road. We drove down the road with a Nissan Versa and survived, so it's definitely drivable. There's one spot that would be impassible if wet (except if you have an elevated 4-wheel drive). This same spot you could easily bottom out, so drive slow. Two campsites are adjacent to the parking lot. One is pretty near to the parking lots. The other two are up the hill. We used the farthest one and liked it a lot. Very beautiful views. Even had a few other travelers show up after we arrived,...

Gorgeous spot! I was here for one night before hiking through Paria Canyon to Lee's Ferry. There are about 10 sites in the general parking area on gravel and several more a little farther out. If you don't mind carrying your stuff from parking area the latter have much more of a primitive and isolated feel...which I prefer. The ones in the gravel are closer to the pit toilet...and the smell of the pit toilet(lol), depending on which way the wind is blowing. Seriously though, they are all very nice, well maintained, and really being in this beautiful area...what more...

So the official word that there only about 5 sites here isn’t completely accurate. There are 5 drive-in sites, but also about 5 walk-in sites (all 10 have tables and a fire ring with a grill). I also saw some folks camping off of a couple of short dirt side roads. I used this as my base for three nights to explore Wire Pass Trail (short, lovely slot Canyon), Buckskin Gulch, Horseshoe Bend, and Secret Canyon (a slot Canyon I highly recommend as a much less crowded option to busy Antelope Canyon; contact Horseshoe Canyon Tours—awesome experience).

Most people hike along the river bed here on Paria River. But if you're not interested in getting your feet wet on a cold/rainy day, there is a high road along the ridge that offers some rather spectacular views as well. Use a hiking pole to help you wade through loose sand especially in the beginning of the trail. Along some of the ridge I would not recommend if it gets rainy as gravel can become loose and slippery. We hiked past the power lines and my watch measured about 6.5 miles which we leisurely did in 3 hrs.
