We booked a few days' getaway to the beach. Melbourne Bch is really nice and not a busy place, which is what we like. We booked a townhouse suite. I will cover the good and the weak. First the good: The townhouse suite was clean, nicely appointed, and had a kitchen and a sort of "wet bar" set up on the upper floor. The kitchen setup was adequate to prepare very basic foods. There is a nice pool, and best of all, a nice deck looking out over the Atlantic, which was perfect for our party, as we had one person who is health challenged and cannot go to the beach itself. The owners have supplied a nice selection of beach chairs, boogie boards, noodles, and other assorted beach items, all available first come first served. There is a laundry with extra beach towels and room towels available, along with a couple of picnic tables, and ample parking. The octagonal beach house toward the beach itself has some very nice suite rooms. The location is convenient to several seafood restaurants, and a very good German restaurant, along with Publix just down the road. Beds were very nice with foam mattresses and well appointed. ||The Not So Good: When you enter the town house suites, you enter into one of the two bedrooms. It is not at all private, as there is no door separating it from the kitchen/living area, and it is within direct view of people exiting their vehicles. The lower level has zero view (which the owners are honest about) but it looks out at the pool, which is raised to a pool deck and surrounded by iron fencing. Kind of gives you a jail feeling. The living area is also not private, as people on the pool deck look down directly into these rooms. The kitchen lacked adequate supply. We had two spoons, for example. The refrigerators have no ice makers, and there is no ice on the property. The bathroom downstairs was sort of carved out under the narrow stairway upstairs, and had a tiny shower, and you had to bend over carefully at the toilet to keep from beaning your head on the slanted ceiling. The room is maybe a 3 feet (1 meter) wide. Upstairs there is sort of a half kitchen with microwave, sink and small refrigerator, again no ice. Up and down there were not good places to sit. The living room had sort of a sofa/chaise sectional, which did not have sections. The upstairs had only a scrunchy love seat. The pool outside our room was noisy early, as some people brought their children there to swim (two about 8 or 9, and one toddler with mother). They started making lots of noise about 7:15 a.m. We were up...but we were interested how this happened, since the place advertises no children under 10. Finally, the Blue View Inn just needs more attention to the small stuff. No tissues, limited soap, much better supplied kitchen, on site ice or ice trays in the freezers, and setting clear hours for pool use. ||Although I gave it three stars, we all agreed it was more like 2 1/2. I think the rooms in the octagonal beach house are much nicer, and would consider staying in them again, but not in the town house suites. Sorry, we were just...
Read moreThis was our 2nd time staying at the Blue View Inn. We loved it even more than the 1st! (We stayed in the Quad then, which was nice.) We stayed in the Twinzer this time, which is the 1-bedroom condo on the second floor. It was awesome!! The kitchen was very nice & had all the dishes & cooking things we needed. Oh - you'll want to bring a bag of ice & plenty of water. There's no ice-maker or icetrays & the water has a strong sulphur taste anyway. The dining room has a glass 4-seat table & the living room has a sofa, loveseat, & a large curved TV. You can log into your subscribed services on the TV. There's a sliding glass door opening to the balcony that takes you down to the beach. The bedroom has a king bed & dresser. One window faces the pool & one window faces the next-door neighbors. The bathroom is nice. Plenty of counterspace for our things. The description says the condo sleeps 3, but that's only because they've put a small camp bed in what was the bedroom closet. All of the condo, except the kitchen, is carpeted & there's a little vacuum in the corner in case you track in too much sand. The view from the living room was great! Right on the beach so we could watch & hear the waves & birds. It was so relaxing!! There were a couple of adirondack-type chairs & a side table so we could sit on the balcony comfortably. There's a gameroom on the bottom floor for everyone staying there, a good-size swimming pool, & a rack with beach chairs, umbrellas, & wave boards you can borrow. The communication with the managers is great & everyone we've dealt with has been friendly. We definitely recommend...
Read moreI would definitely return to this vacation site. The common areas are arranged nicely and provide a wide variety of activities. There is very little you would need to bring with you to have the beach experience. The private beach is right off the common porch. There is very little foot traffic on the beach so you can experience nature at its fullest.||There are some very nice restaurants within 15 minute drive. The Publix is only 5 miles away. The airport and gym is 30 minutes away.||The management is very friendly and stays in the background as much as possible, allowing you to enjoy your space. All of the renters here were very friendly as well. One of the renters let me know that they needed a special accommodation for their room, and the management went out of their way to make sure that happened.||Be sure to read the reviews as to what others brought with them to make their stay more comfortable. I had done so to find out that the room I would be going to only had a hightop table with two bench seats. Therefore, I brought a folding lounge chair that I used in my room. I believe there’s only a couple of units that have a stove in them. All in all, I would...
