I travel 100% for travel and generally stay at Hilton Hotels. I am a Diamond member and used nearly a half year of points to book this hotel for 5 nights during 4th of July week for myself, my boyfriend and our 11 year old daughter. It is about 10-15 minutes from the beach with heavy traffic so we did not feel it was safe to ride bikes to the beach, so plan on driving unless you are feeling risky. We were ok with the location, however the hotel was pretty full, I think mainly because it is in a new development with a sports complex and a lot of families coming in for that complex appear to stay there. Only 1 out of 2 elevators for a large hotel was operational. The hotel has been open for less 1.5 years but already shows signs of not being cared for, like lights dangling by wires in the elevator that was operational. Also the grills out by the pool looked liked they were never cleaned, so we ended up cooking the food we brought to grill in our kitchen in our room. This hotel, along with many other Hilton Hotels only does housekeeping every 4th night unless you ask for additional housekeeping. Considering that we planned on going to the beach nearly everyday, along with some other attractions, I asked for housekeeping on the 2nd and 4th day, just so we could have a chance at sleeping without sand, etc... plus I like to keep a clean area. They came and knocked on the door and made sure we needed housekeeping after the 2nd night. They had a manager going around doing checks before housekeeping actually came in. I appreciated that. Then on the 4th day, we had really been busy bees trying to enjoy vacation and I definitely wanted new sheets and a clean room so we could enjoy our last night before we began our journey home, or in my case, my journey back on the road for work. Before we went out for the day, I bundled up all the sheets, and made sure the trash was collected, and we were off. We had an extremely long day, and when we got back, it was about 8pm and I walked in to find our room untouched, all the sheets were still in a pile on the floor, and no one came in to do anything. I was so disappointed and tired. I went downstairs and the front desk said that there was nothing she could do for me because she was waiting for someone to come off break and she would need some time. She basically told me I could change the room out myself. I am not going to lie. I was pretty wore out and tired and realized my last night was going to be cleaning up a room, making beds, and cooking dinner and that was going to be my relaxing last night. Since there was no urgency on the hotels end, I called Hilton 800# who made a case, and to be honest, I still haven't heard back from them. It is now 3 days later. The people working the desk had no empathy nor care that this was how my last night of vacation is going down. I decided that I might as well just go ahead and have them give me fresh sheets, towels, trash bags and I would do the work myself. And I did. The hotel manager called me the next morning and basically tried to blame me for the situation 2 different ways. First she said that I requested it too late (8pm), but then had to backtrack when I told her I asked when I CHECKED IN for very specific 2 days to make the trip best we could without asking for daily service, she then told me she would have to "check the records". I told her I asked for 2nd and 4th day service WHEN I CHECKED IN and they came for the 2nd day service so why would they skip the 4th day... and then she told me that it is "HILTONS POLICY" to only change a room once every 4th day and they are not required to do it more than that. That really did it for me. I have actually had trouble with at least 2 other Hiltons that just ignore my request for housekeeping in the past 6 months. Remember, I stay in a Hilton Hotel 5-7 nights a week, so generally, when I am by myself, I generally just let it go... but this "manager" couldn't handle the situation without trying to make it my fault, so I have canceled all future Hilton stays and am currently staying at a Residence Inn, for the first time, and their suites are in fact much nicer than Hiltons suites that I have been in, so I recommend you look for another hotel in the PCB area, and maybe a different chain all together. I have given up my Diamond status to start from scratch at Marriott. That's my...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting Panama City Beach. The hotel is lovely and from the moment you drive up you notice the pretty landscape. When we arrived we were greeted by the clerk Kerry and Sam. They were both very pleasant and kind. We were given a little welcome gift for our dog. We had the opportunity to meet the lead hospitality member Ivonne who was very warm and kind. She provided us a suggestion for a local restaurant. Anytime we needed anything she immediately took care of it and checked back in with us throughout our stay. Also, during check-in Sam told us about the reception on Wednesday evening. It consisted of Wine/Beer, Cheeses, Fruit and other light hors d'oeuvres. Coffee and Hot Chocolate are available in the coffee anytime of day. We enjoyed a late night coffee run one evening, while utilizing the laundry facilities. Brittany and Zac helped us when we couldn't find the right coffee lids. They were helpful and patient. One evening we couldn't find our wine opener and went to the Suite shop. We couldn't find one and Morgan the manager I believe on duty allowed us to use her personal one. The Suite shop is a nice touch in the hotel to purchase not only food/drinks but other items you might have left at home like your beach towels or specific toiletries.
The overall stay at this hotel is rather pleasant. The continental breakfast is a nice convenience. It is a basic meal to start a day. We stayed during a baseball tournament, which made the stay a little interesting considering the hotel is next door to a Sports complex. There were several teams staying at the hotel. The suggestion I would have is to upgrade the laundry facility to include more washers or expand the space. We used the facility one time, the next time we attempted to use it was consistently busy with baseball parents. They would come together with bags of clothes and all the uniforms. Needless to say with only three washers total and 2 working at the time it did not allow for other guest to use the facility often. We needed to wash beach towels during our stay so this was a little disappointing. Also, the elevators seemed to move very slow even during late hours when the hotel did not have high traffic. Also, housekeeping had a hard time keeping up with laundry and providing towels and wash clothes with the influx of people. This could be a staffing issue but something to note considering again this hotel I am sure is expecting large crowds next to a new Sports facility.
We would recommend the hotel, just a few considerations to being able to handle the large crowds during competition time. The customer service was great and the professionalism is highly appreciated during a time when customer service is hard to find! The value of this hotel and the staff make it a place to visit again in...
Read moreOn Sunday, December 8, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., I checked into Homewood Suites by Hilton, 47 Chip Seal Pkwy, Panama City||Beach, Florida, 32407||||The front desk receptionist " Judiene " "checked me into the room. When I arrived at my room, across was the hostess's room. The door was open and 2 young adults were talking loud and playing music at a high volume. I entered my room trying to see if their activities would keep me from sleeping after my long flight and a 1-hour difference in time, but I couldn't endure the noise. However, I addressed my concerns to " Judiene " that I have a 13-day stay here on my vacation, asking to change to another room away from the hostess room. She stated that it's not every day, but, my concerns were now I needed to get some rest. ||||However, Now to make matters worse. The next day I went out to the beach to||enjoy myself. When I arrived later around 4:00 p.m. I began to spray Lysol on my bed, and when I pulled my sheets back, I noticed a big yellow-brownish wet spot on my bed. It smelled like urine. Now I'm thinking when I complained, somehow this was the outcome of my actions, and the only person I asked not to speak of this was the Front desk receptionist. Somebody took it personally and took the liberty to disrespect another human being for wanting some peace on their vacation after a long day of travel. ||||I don't see how a person can do something like this to another person especially something as inhumane as this. I had to sleep in the same room, but I slept on the put-out bed. The funny thing is that Judiene must have known her friends had done this because when I called the front desk, keep in mind I'm on the 3rd floor, and she must been watching the cameras, and she had all new bedspreads for my bed before I could explain my situation. I'm getting old, but I'm not stupid. I feel violated on my vacation. I spoke with the GM, Debi Knight, and Ana Lopez, and all the GM could offer me was Hilton points; how about another Hilton hotel nearby?||||I will never spend my hard-earned money at any Hilton hotel. First thing but not least, They need to fire those indecent individuals who have no respect for the people who depend on their professional services. Now, there were issues with my room not being clean and I didn't complain. I have several pictures of long hair in my shower and bed. I cleaned it and kept it to myself, but this urine thing is something too severe to let go. I don't recommend staying at this hotel if you have any concerns...
