We've chosen to hold our family reunion (up to 150 people some years) at Fin & Feather for well over a decade. We all love the spirit of the facility...it has gone downhill steadily over the past years. The organ player was never replaced, the buffet is generally well received, but it used to be a lot better and the staff was more spirited and really made a show of it all. Miss that.

Also, the rooms have literally NEVER been updated...and this is since I was a boy. The family who owns the facility are OSU Hotel & Restaurant management graduates....and my how their alma mater would frown on the current state of the property.

I've seen many reviews here on Google telling the owners to invest back in the property and "Soda Steve" responds that it is "tough". Well, I can understand, but the property is at a breaking-point. We already have family members who no longer attend because of the price of the facility compared to the quality of the rooms and services. There is talk that we won't be coming back next year even.

I'd like to plead to the ownership....don't bleed the place dry, keep some money in it, take out some loans to spruce the place back up. I can't believe that a bank wouldn't finance a large improvement project considering the years of operation and the steady customer traffic....but that steady traffic won't hold up when the price becomes too much considering the quality of the rooms and facilities.

And please, please, take a little more effort with the Fin Bin....this used to be a hot-bed of fun and activity...now it is so neglected that I am literally surprised it is still open some years.

Our reunion is this weekend....and I will post another review with pictures after our stay.

Again, this is a review from a person who has grown up coming to Reunions at this facility and I sincerely want the facility to...

I LOVE this place. I grew up going here for as many years as I can remember. I love the quaint quiet location with enough to do to have fun, but not so much that you feel busy during your stay. Soda Steve’s has amazing food! I brought my own young kids back this time and I still love it for all of the same reasons..... However, I appeal to the ownership to refresh and update. I believe this place holds some nostalgia to the visitors and my generation is looking for a family-friendly place to come, away from the noise, away from cell-phone reception, and at a good price. While the price is good, I am sad to come back and feel like it’s going downhill. It’s by no means dirty or gross, but outdated for sure. It needs some fresh paint, new roofs, new carpet and the rooms would be restored back to their original glory. The Fin Bin has one foot in the grave-literally half of the games are broken. If the ownership could find a way to budget a renovation or even slowly work to restoring it to its original glory in its opening days I think they’d hit the jackpot on family-friendly, nostalgia-focused, budget-friendly, and RETRO fun. I pray they do this before people stop coming altogether because, although it’s so out-of-date, I want to keep bringing my kiddos back for that whole nostalgia deal. PLEASE INVEST SOME MONEY BACK INTO THIS WONDERFUL PLACE THAT HOLDS SO MANY FOND MEMORIES FOR ME DURING MY CHILDHOOD AND FOR FUTURE MEMORIES MADE WITH OUR...

Review from 1971 - My family used to go to F&F one weekend per month. My father used to play guitar and cover Chet Atkins. He was one of the featured acts. While he warmed up or performed, I became a “free-range” kid. I had free run of the place. I damn near drowned in that pond next to the dock because I fell in the water as a small boat was pulling up. :-) (The things you suddenly remember from your childhood.) I remember there were theme nights with western flavors and Hawaiian Luau’s. I remember the place and the family experiences very vividly and fondly from my childhood. We must have come here monthly for more than a year. I think I first put on roller skates here. I have distinct memories of the song “Sing” by the Carpenters being played as I fumbled around on skates. Great skating rink (in the day) and I loved the pond area. I had a great time there as a kid. I’m surprised the place is still in business. I believe I’ll have to stop by for a nostalgic visit someday. Please keep in mind - this is a review from the early 1970’s...some 50 years ago. I was in kindergarten back in the day and I’m nearing...

I would highly recommend this stay to anyone. The room was clean with comfey beds, and really good AC! Soda Steve's is walking distance from all the cabins, and is a must when visiting here. There is an indoor pool, hot tub, and toddler pool that was approximately 1 foot deep. The game room is a 1988 roller skating rink revamped with pool tables, arcade games, and a mini putt putt course. We found it very fun! The staff is full of friendly faces, even after closing time! (We accidentally locked ourselves out of our room while making s'mores on the grill)

The cabins are a bit outta date. But I LOVE IT ANYHOW! The ppl are nice. Its PEACEFUL. Grounds are well kept. But if you do not want them in your room to make your bed even if they have to move PERSONAL items to do so, find the plastic sign on the table and put in the door. I came back from the lake and our beds were neatly made with our stuff strewed back across it. 🤷‍♀️ Otherwise, very personable staff with a 1980's feel. I will be back!

We attended the fall festival here. We had a great time and bought some nice items. Love the fudge and soup products. An excellent festival. Easy parking although off the beaten path. Worth the drive and the area around lake tenkiller is beautiful with fantastic vistas. Over 170 vendors and three buildings full of vendors. Definitely takes a full day to see.
