My siblings and I rented the Lakeview park home. (I included photos of the rental because I’d prefer to see what something looks like before going.) We enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, it rained (we aren’t that hardcore) and we left early. We would’ve loved to explore more and hope to go back next season! We enjoyed the fire pit and grill that’s over the top. That was very convenient. The porch was nice. We loved having the view of the lake and watching the wildlife. Even though we brought plenty of food and snacks, we grabbed items from the snack shack! It was convenient. There were plenty of activities to keep my young niece and nephew occupied. They had an absolute blast! I really enjoyed that it is a very kid friendly campground. Cars drive slowly and kids are able to ride their bikes along the rock roadways. You can walk the entire campground with no issues. We did rent a golf cart because my niece and nephew love riding in them. However, it is not a necessity. If you rent Lakeview, bring some fans for the loft and back bedroom. The loft cools down at night but is way too warm during the day for any use. The back bedroom was also super warm but having a fan helped. I was pleasantly surprised with the loft. No, you (adults) can’t stand up but there are two areas that were larger than expected. A queen blowup mattress does fit in the loft. The kids loved the space and enjoyed being able to see down to the living room. When we arrived, the a/c was set to 68 but a note informed guests to leave it at 72 or it will freeze up. I did turn it up because I’m a rule follower. It would’ve been worse for the unit to freeze up and not have any ac for 2-3 hours. Thankfully, there was a window unit that kept the main kitchen/living room cool! Everything was clean. We would’ve liked to have known of things that were closed or not in use. The billiards room was closed for renovations. You are not allowed to use the paddle boats because Henry, the swan, rules the roost. He is beautiful but isn’t a fan of others in his lake. If you will be giving children baths or using the tub, bring a plug! Not far from the campground is a grocery store. We were able to pick up some items that we didn’t realize we would want or need. They do have carpet remnants for $1.99. It was nice to put those outside of the door and right inside the door to keep things clean. We also grabbed one for the bathroom floor to use as a bath mat. Do not expect to have any cell service and the WiFi was horrible. This was not an issue when the weather was beautiful. They do rent dvds in the general store. Also, everyone that we talked to was super polite and friendly. The neighbors were all nice. Everything is close together but we had a private campsite to enjoy. We do hope to visit again next year! Happy camping. :)

My wife and I stayed here while we were visiting Cuyahoga Valley National Park. When we first arrived it seemed rustic and charming. That wore off quickly. The campground itself seems nice at a glance. When we got there on Thursday, it was quiet and I had no complaints. When Friday rolled around, all the seasonal renters arrived (which seem to be the majority of the sites), and they were the rowdy variety. That's not necessarily a negative thing if that's what you're looking for, but when you're trying to get a toddler to bed and groups that are getting progressively more drunk are roaming around making a lot of noise it's slightly annoying. The gate to the campground is only opened by someone at the office, unless you're a seasonal, then you get an opener. So if you get in after 10 you have to call someone and wait for them to open it. We got back late one night and had to wait a while for the gate to open, not a long time, but long enough to be an annoyance. The next night we got back around 8 and nobody was at the office, so they aren't very consistent with that either. The public bathrooms would close after pavillion activities were over (no explanation on when that is exactly). And the dumpsters by the bathrooms were full to the brim. On to the cabin. We rented the Bass Point cabin, and again, it seemed nice at first glance. The first morning when I went to make coffee, I found the coffee maker full of old grounds and mold. The seats for the table are at the same height as the tabletop. There was what appeared to be blood on the walls. There was water damage on the ceiling and in the bathroom. The toilet wouldn't flush half the time. The TV is behind a wall so you can only see it from one or two seats on the couch. Half of the blinds on the windows were broken. There was mold in the air conditioners (two window units). The water from the tap was yellow. And the patio furniture was left out always, judging from the grundle that was built up on it. To their credit, the campground gave us a new coffee maker, and the toilet started working when we came back from a day trip so I assume they sent a plumber. All in all, not a pleasant experience. Wouldn't recommend staying here.

Spent the Fourth of July 2025 holiday weekend (Thursday night - Sunday morning) at this campground. We had stayed here previously in September of 2024 and we were extremely disappointed with how rundown the facility felt. Rooms / Campsite - My wife and I pull a GeoPro 19FD and stayed in the same campsite as last year. There was a giant hole dug out near the gravel ā€œpadā€ that we had to fill with bricks to navigate safely with both the camper and just walking around our site. The site had been turfed from what I assume was someone getting stuck in the poor-draining campsite as well. There was also trash leftover from previous campers in the fire pit. A quick stop at each campsite before new campers check in would go a long way in improving ā€œfirst impressions.ā€ Service - In addition to the general clean-up that one would expect to happen before a holiday weekend, we asked for someone to please fill the hole on our lot as we considered it a safety hazard. This was requested on Friday morning and by check-out at noon on Sunday it was still present. While we appreciate the dump station being pumped multiple times throughout the weekend, the individual doing this work Saturday night apparently had a spill and attempted to clean it up by watering down the area. This led to a sewer smell and excrement-contaminated water running into multiple sites. Things happen at a campsite but based on reviews this odor occurs frequently. Location - The campground is located in a convenient area for our needs and allows us to spend time with friends. We will most likely be camping at a state park going forward as the rates are more reasonable and the amount of care taken with the facilities is light years ahead of what Country Acres currently provides.

Overdue review from last Labor Day, this may not be the norm (hope it's not for you) but it was our experience. This was a fairly last minute book and they "overbooked" us.

Pros: Helpful, friendly staff Lots of activities for kids (if open) Nice and quiet at night (most nights); great band Sunday night, played until 2300, right across from us, but packed up and quiet ASAP at quiet time Very well kept grounds Garbage emptied, not overflowing, even after holiday weekend

Cons: Overbooked - told we would be charged lower rate to stay in "overflow" for two nights - and overflow had electric (30A) and H2O - water was spliced off neighbor across the street Was told we would have entire field - once detached, we were told to move b/c another camper was coming (that was a lie) Instead of being charged lower rate, we received $30 "credit" - which they took from us when our college student came to visit w/2 college friends for 45 mins - $30! I know, I know, they charge for visitors but really? After what you've put us through? 90% seasonal - all giving us dirty looks and audibly talking ** , likely b/c of where they had us parked - again, was told we had entire field and they'd have it coned off - Nope! They were about to start a "bubble party" right when we arrived; they had to move it, drawing all sorts of boos from children and adults alike! Forced to wear annoying wristband entire time on property Food stand closed early Annoying local next door w/yappy dog that won't shut up - we're guessing he's the reason we were forced to move after detaching - he's got lights sprawled out over 2-3 lots, as if it's his property (maybe it is?), even though there's an electric box on the space we were originally in No list of scheduled activities for the weekend (for us)

That was our experience, I could go on more (and maybe I will, seeing as how the owner seems to like to respond to negative reviews) but once all that horrible experience happened and everyone cleared out after the holiday weekend, we were able to move to a beautiful pull through site and the park was quiet, peaceful and gorgeous. I genuinely hope, if you decide to stay here, that's what you get.

Sounds dumb but I'm not one to look for handouts however... If it was my business and I f'd up as much as these guys did, I would go above and beyond to make up for it (maybe not charge for child visitors, maybe not charge for a 20lb propane fill? Something; I know, that hypocritical in the same sentence but... just saying...difference between when I grew up and now).

I know from the reviews I've seen on this place and the responses from the owner, they'll be glad we'll look somewhere else for the next 3+ years our girl attends KSU; and we will.

Thanks...

Do not go to this campground!!!! My family and I have been going out to this campground for the last 10 years. I thought the staff was some of the best people around until my last stay. I was kicked out the last night of my stay at 10pm at night and told that I had 45 minutes to pack and get off the property with 5 children one of which has disabilities. We were forced to pack in the dark! There lights outside their cabin did not work. Horrible treatment horrible people!!! Dangerous wildlife on property dogs not on leashes!!!

On arrival to our campsite there was a huge Swan named Henry that they have on their property. We had to chase him away so that we could unload our car. When I got to close he nipped me on the hand. On the second day the same swan had come back to our campsite and chased my two girls into our cabin. This swan is very aggressive and intimidating it had us trapped in the cabin. The neighbor next-door had to call the owner, when he got there he said that it was the campers fault for feeding him that's why he had chased my girls!( I was fuming) So here we are on our third day.... We had bad sewer gas coming in from our toilet. It had obviously not been emptied. An employee had to come take care of it. The employee was nice and very apologetic. On the forth day my mother-in-law came out and also rented a cabin. My parents also came out for the day we had a nice dinner and went on a walk. On our way around the lake my dog was attacked by two dogs that were not on the leash. it is obvious that the rules are not enforced around here because nothing was done. Later we had had a fire and I'd be damned but that swan was back and aggressive. It was attacking mallard ducklings which are a protected species. My mother-in-law protected the ducklings by chasing Henry and putting a rake in between her and the swan so she would not be bitten like I was. Neighbors also were spraying the swan with water and throwing rocks at it. Well someone didn't like what she was doing and called the owners. The owner than yelled at a 60 year old woman like she was a child. When I went to explain what was going on the man was rude and told us to pack up and leave. Another owner came over and continued to complain at us about the swan and told us we had 45 minutes to get out. When we told him that the other people had sprayed water and thrown rocks he told us that he did not believe us and called us a liar. Horrible people they care more about their wildlife than they do their paying customers! Do not go here they have dangerous animals on the property and loose dogs all over the place. I'm so entirely shocked by the way we were treated I will never...
