Disappointed and Misleading - A Missed Opportunity||As a seasoned traveler, I've stayed across the spectrum of accommodations, from budget-friendly motels to five-star resorts. Generally, I don’t mind simplicity if it’s well-executed, but this property has fundamentally failed on several levels. It’s a frustrating missed opportunity that misleads guests and lacks the basic standards expected from a property marketed as part of Deer Valley Resort.||Misleading Location|The most glaring issue is the misleading claim that this property is a "1-minute walk" from Deer Valley Resort. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The actual walk is a grueling 58 minutes through snow, isolating guests far from where they likely intended to stay. To make matters worse, there is no shuttle service to the Deer Valley Resort, leaving guests stranded unless they have their own transportation. This deceptive marketing directly influenced our decision to stay here and resulted in significant inconvenience.||Subpar Facilities|The units themselves are reminiscent of poorly maintained college dorms rather than cozy mountain retreats. Here's what we experienced:||Floors: Cheap linoleum flooring that feels cold and institutional.|Furniture: Basic, Walmart-quality furnishings with no effort to make the space inviting.|Lighting: Harsh, sterile lighting throughout. A simple installation of dimmers could have created a more welcoming atmosphere.|Kitchen: A four-cup coffee maker and an electric stove that barely works—taking 20 minutes to scramble eggs and 40 minutes to cook bacon.|Bathroom: Minimal counter space, hospital-grade shower curtains that are too short, and no hooks for towels.|Bedrooms: No TV in the bedrooms and no full-length mirror in the entire unit.|Amenities?|This property appears to be cutting corners in every possible way:||Stiff, uncomfortable linens that don’t even compare to those at a local gym.|A laundromat in the building with a pervasive bad smell—no in-unit washers or dryers.|No dishcloths or basic supplies for the kitchen.|Nowhere to lock valuables—no safe provided in the unit.|Poorly Trained Staff|Customer service is abysmal. During the busiest time of year—between Christmas and New Year—the "supervisor" was on vacation, leaving untrained staff to manage issues. For a new property that claims to be an extension of Deer Valley Resort, this lack of oversight is unacceptable.||Missed Potential|The large rooms had potential to be cozy and inviting, but poor use of space ruins any charm. Instead of a comfortable sofa and a functional entertainment area, there’s a tiny TV and an uninviting setup. The property could have been so much more with even basic attention to detail.||Summary|This property does not live up to its promises or its price point. Misleading marketing, poor design choices, and a lack of guest-focused amenities make it hard to recommend. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Until then, I would advise prospective guests to look elsewhere for a true Deer...

As a seasoned traveler, I've stayed across the spectrum of accommodations, from budget-friendly motels to five-star resorts. Misleading Location The most glaring issue is the misleading claim that this property is a "1-minute walk" from Deer Valley Resort. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The actual walk is a grueling 58 minutes through snow, isolating guests far from where they likely intended to stay. To make matters worse, there is no shuttle service to the Deer Valley Resort, leaving guests stranded unless they have their own transportation. Bathroom: Minimal counter space, hospital-grade shower curtains that are too short, and no hooks for towels. Bedrooms: No TV in the bedrooms and no full-length mirror in the entire unit. Amenities? This property appears to be cutting corners in every possible way:
Stiff, uncomfortable linens that don’t even compare to those at a local gym. A laundromat in the building with a pervasive bad smell—no in-unit washers or dryers. No dishcloths or basic supplies for the kitchen. Nowhere to lock valuables—no safe provided in the unit. Poorly Trained Staff Customer service is abysmal. Read moreDon't book here. You could be cancelled on arrival like we were with nowhere to go. Pioche magagement cancelled our reservation by text 17 minutes before check-in on a Saturday night. As the location is 20 minutes from anywhere, we were already there. No apology or explanation. We had nowhere to stay. They had the gall to give us the airbnb site! What, suggesting that we could book a last minute airbnb at our expense on Saturday in a resort? I've been cancelled at another hotel from Booking.com, but the hotel called a week ahead, and arranged and PAID FOR a similar room nearby. We booked this two weeks ahead, got three confirmation emails, and Pioche management texted us at 3:43pm on a Saturday of a holiday weekend. Oh, and the promised talking to a mangager the next day didn't happen. And the next promised call back from the manager never happened. We called, and still no apology or explanation. You could almost hear him smile over the phone as he said, there is nothing I can do. (Oh, and I got to spend part my 25th Anniversary weekend back at home logging in to try to get my money back from Booking.com., and feeling swindled)- this should be illegal; it is certainly unethical and not the way a Deer Valley adjacent hotel should conduct itself. This place is a construction zone and will be for a while; not easy to get to...
