My family has been coming up to Nevis, Minnesota for years now, and we always stay one week at the In-We-Go Resort. And I have to say that it’s always a pleasant stay.
The property sits on 8th Crow Wing Lake, which also offers access to 9th and 10th Crow Wing Lakes along some channels. The lake offers plenty of fishing options, including a sunken island in the middle, so you can try your hand at catching blue gill, bass, crappie and others. There are a couple of resorts on the lake and some private houses, but overall, it never feels crowded.
As for the resort itself, they offer 13 cabins of various sizes, up to four bedrooms. They also have a small motel with a few rooms and an RV park in the back of the resort.
But what I really appreciate about the resort is how the owners, Ed and Sara, take such care of the property. They are always making improvements and updates to the cabins. For example, they recently added a pickle ball court.
As for other features, they have sand volleyball, a basketball court, shuffleboard, a swimming pool, a playground, and an area for watching movies. They have some inflatables and other water sports crafts like paddle boards for the lake. If you want to stay inside, they have a game room where you can play air hockey, foosball, indoor shuffleboard and pool/billiards. Some board games are available as well. In the office connected to the game room, they have some DVDs you can rent.
Most of my family stays in cabin 2, which has four bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. Most cabins also have a deck overlooking the lake and some even have fire pits. For the cabin we stay in, we bring our own towels and washcloths, but bedding is provided.
When the whole family is there, we don’t all fit in the cabin, so we’ll rent a motel room for the week. Those rooms do provide towels and washcloths for the week.
Laundry facilities are onsite, with two washers and two dryers in a small laundry room behind the garage next to the motel. They are $2 each per load. And if you want, you can hang your clothes on the clothesline right outside the laundry room. They even have clothespins for your use.
Of course, you’re on the lake, so you can also rent a boat for the week, including several pontoons.
If you’d like to experience a great getaway, check out the In-We-Go Resort. As I said, Ed and Sara do such a wonderful job with the property, and they’ll warmly welcome you as you...
Read moreDisappointed. We stayed at I-W-G RV campground in mid-September after reading reviews and seeing high rating.
Owner was nice and helpful allowing us to pick the best site for our smaller RV of those available. However, we found every site to be un-level, dirt, and rutted despite her saying they "are all level". I tried leveling but didn't have enough "plastic" to piece together for front-2-back and side-2-side. I found boards by our picnic table used by previous RV-ers. I got it closer but still slightly tilted f-2-b. Moreover, My black tank discharge was below the top of the sewer by 6-8". I rolled forward 10+ ft. to be closer to even ht. and picked up the hose many times rolling it toward sewer to empty it. Unpleasant. There were trees that provided shelter and although some sites appeared pull-thru, they were not unless you drove up on grass a substantial hill. In front of us they provided to much of an obsticle to get thru. I back out. Sites were very close to each other and very limited (8 spaces). Positives: Game room, ice cream sold, nice looking pool, vball & bb courts for those under 18. For mid-Sept, the weekend nightly rate was very high ($60) compared to others in the area. For that price I expect level,...
Read moreMy family has been coming here for over 40 years and we love it! The fishing is fantastic and the scenery is gorgeous. There is a great selection of board games for rainy days, as well as DVD players and DVDs. The staff is absolutely wonderful and are always ready to help. The pool is wonderful for swimming and there are some pool toys available as well. The lake is well-equipped with paddle boats, jet skis, etc. All-in-all it is a fantastic place for us to get away and relax as a family. The cabins are well-maintained and nicely furnished. The kitchen comes stocked with basic dishes/pots/pans/cutlery. You do need to supply your own towels and soap for the kitchen as well as the bathroom. The bedrooms in the cabins are a bit snug, but you spend so much time outside that it doesn't really matter. We look forward to coming...
