If you love the Northwoods, enjoy great fishing, want a laid back week or 2 on Agency Bay, the large protected Bay on the peninsular that more or less splits the lake. Easy access to Walker through the Narrows to the South or to the main lake through the Roosevelt Canal gives one access to a variety of fishing locations. Leach has regained its title as the best Lake in Minnesota for Walleye. MN DNR has done a fabulous job, stocking, monitoring, reducing the cormorant population and work well with the Ojibwa Indian Nation and the Federal Agencies to promote great fishing.||Guiding service is readily available with a little planning and Mark Christianson who with his wife Barb manage this awesome resort, is both a Professional Walleye competitor but an excellent guide on Leach as well as countless other lakes in the region.|This resort remains on my list always for my retreats up north.||Book early and...
Read moreWe visited here with our family of four after my husbands experiences of coming here in the 1980's with his family. The cabins are quaint and comfortable, we stayed in cabin #17 with plenty of room for all of us. Each cabin is individually owned and are all a little different. We enjoyed paddle boating, canoeing, fishing off the dock, a weekly potluck and smores every night and the kids enjoyed the brand new playground equipment. What a wonderful resort - large, clean cabins, accomodating staff and, of course, phenomenal Leech Lake fishing. Jace & Austin worked great along the harbor, helping with boat docking & filleting fish - even taking the time to show me the finer pionts of removing the y-bones from northern pike.
