I don’t even know where to start with this place because our trip was absolutely incredible from the moment I called to book. Alex booked us and was so communicative from the first phone call to the texts (yes you can text them) all the way until we showed up to our room. All the rooms are beautiful and named and decorated individually. When we arrived to our room named Country Road, “Country Road” was playing to welcome us- how cute is that?! And an adorable anniversary gift welcoming us. I felt like royalty! But it doesn’t stop there- Alex made sure to greet us the next day because we missed her due to a late check in. She was so welcoming and told us all about the property and activities (horseback riding, archery, picnics, electric bikes etc!). There are no TVs in the room which I LOVED. For those that really want one, use your tablet, computer, phone etc.
When we headed to the tasting room for our complementary tasting, we happened to run into the owner Ted, who immediately felt like family. We laughed and joked and he made a phone call to the event center to squeeze us into the winery event that was being held that night. It was literally less than an hour away from starting and they still made it happen with name tags at our place settings and all! Passed apps, wine and then we were brought to the giant banquet table. The 4 course meal paired with delicious wine was some of the favorite dishes I’ve tasted. Osso Buco from their farm on the estate… I gotta stop I’m drooling.
Speaking of food, I can’t even begin to explain the level is tastiness they provide. Yes, breakfast in included and NO it’s not your run of the mill hotel food. This is 5 star level food. I’m from Sonoma County so I know good food and this is it. Each day is different but our faves were the eggs Benedict and lemon ricotta pancakes AND on top of that you get fresh hot pastries, coffee and fresh juice.
The mattress was just the cherry on top- is there anything worse than a nice hotel with a horrible mattress? This one was a literal cloud. My husband and I have a sleep number and I’m considering buying whatever mattress they use here because it was elite!
Ps- they are completely...
Read moreGeneseo is an absolutely unique and beautiful property with vineyard views, perfect for a quick getaway. My boyfriend & I visited last month for my birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The check-in process was easy and contactless; we simply received a code for entry into our room. The room was clean with modern decor and interior design. Let's face it, it's definitely Instagram-worthy both in and outside of the room! We were greeted with a complimentary charcuterie board in our room; Cass wine was also provided in the mini fridge for purchase. Your stay includes a complimentary glass of wine when you visit the front office, which we took advantage of and ended up leaving with a complimentary bottle of rosé when the staff realized we were celebrating my birthday :) Breakfast is included - we were able to select our preferences right before our stay - and they deliver straight to your door. We enjoyed it on our patio overlooking the vineyard; it honestly was a perfect zen moment, just what we needed during this time! The rooms are TV-free but there's plenty to do in the area (wine tasting obvi, biking, horseback riding, etc.). My only complaint would be the bathroom - the toilet is practically in the shower area (no divider whatsoever) so this was a little inconvenient. Nonetheless, we had a...
Read moreWhat an amazing weekend getaway. Our experience at the Geneseo Inn was nothing less than magical. The shipping container lodging is unique and we were not sure what to expect, but it by far exceeded our expectations. We stayed in room 2 (Gaia). The decor is crisp and clean, the room well lit, the ac heavenly, the bed comfy, the shower pressure enjoyable, and the view spectacular! Nothing better than waking up every morning to be greeted with an array of first round breakfast items; such as yogurt, fresh berries, and granola.. coffee and fresh squeezed oj, delicious croissants and pastries. Following the the continental style first round, a gourmet breakfast is delivered to your patio to enjoy overlooking the vineyards. Breakfast was 5 stars. We enjoyed a spectrum of breakfast dishes during our stay, from chilaquiles to blueberry and ricotta stuffed pirogies. The wines at Cass Winery are rich and deep in flavor and we fell in love with their Syrah! The staff was super sweet and helpful and the entire premises (including the room) was VERY clean. The only thing better than the room and wine was the company in which I was in attendance with. Thank you Geneseo Inn for providing space and ambiance for us to check out of our hectic lives and check into a bit of an oasis where time slows down and presences...
