I wasn't thrilled with my experience. I like to go winter cabining as a yearly splurge, and happened upon this area. I booked the Bee Together to accommodate our group size. We learned it was newly built and found it had several problems. There are no curtains or drapes, aside from the bedrooms. So you can get a clear view of the lake, and those on the lake get a clear view of you. We were warned not to use the fireplace downstairs for safety reasons. There wasn't a chimney built for the fireplace itself. The windows downstairs were hard to shut, as they did not slide open without going at an angle. The refrigerator has an ice dispenser, but it's not hooked up where it's usable. The kitchens were also not stocked with all we needed for cooking. Last, but certainly the worst, was the water in the cabin. The first night we turned on the water it smelled and tasted heavily like eggs. It radiated through the whole house and was difficult to get rid of even with opening the windows. We avoided drinking the water, and informed management of the situation. They told us they were aware of it, as it has been a reported problem by other cabins. They didn't offer to provide a resolution, really just shrugging it off, until one of our group members got irate with the person we spoke with. We then were provided a pack of water bottles and were told to run the hot water for 20 minutes, hoping the water heater will clear the smell. We ran the hot water, and the smell ended up dominating the house for hours. It was gag inducing and kept many of us up until late the first night. The next day, the smell fainted, but still required us to run the water half an hour before use. I'm normally more forgiving about these situations, but it really made the trip a rough experience. It is far harder to forgive the experience since we paid over 3 times the price than other cabin rentals we've stayed at, that offer similar accommodations, but better managed. I'm especially surprised they didn't do something I normally see from other cabins, where you can leave a comment card on your experience. I would've easily addressed my grievances on it instead of writing this review, but that wasn't an option. We unanimously agreed we're not planning on staying here again.

Attended a conference here. Nice place. I bet it's even better when it's warm and summery. It was still early spring when I was there, so no swimming etc. There is a pool but it's in main building and the cabins are all scattered around and no one wanted to walk cold and wet in winter whipping winds back to cabins after swimming. The food was subpar. The cabins though! Wow! Incredible cabin we stayed in. Absolutely gorgeous. All bedding supplied. Although no bathroom towels at all. No kitchen towels either. We just swiped a handful of paper towels from main lodge for our bathroom. You could Absolutely stay here and cook and just basically have a cabin weekend with family or friends. Walking trail nearby is pretty much straight uphill. Not much near within walking distance. But if you like to just go for a walk, the trail is paved. It wasn't a great location for me but it's where the conference was. I don't think I would drive across the state to stay here with my kids but if you live closer to the area or are planning to be in that area it's absolutely worth it.

My family and I had a great vacation at Bug-Bee! The resort is super pretty. I picked here to go on vacation since it is pet friendly. There are really nice trails to go for walks on. My three dogs had a great time on their first vacation. The pool is super nice. My nieces had a blast playing in it. The sweet shop is great! We all enjoyed the ice cream. We can't wait to go back again!

This is our 3rd summer staying at bug bee resort! Every year it gets better and better! We have 5 kids ages ranging from 2-12 and there is something fun for everyone! They have so many special touches that truly add to the experience. We rented a boat for a week very updated with Bluetooth, the playground is very updated and BIG there was even a bunch of toy trucks that kept my 2 year very busy. The park also includes play houses which kept my 4 and 6 year daughters very busy and not wanting to leave the playground. They also have a indoor swimming pool option for when the weather is rainy. We also rented a golf cart and went on paths around the resort where we saw tons of deer!! If you are contemplating on staying here I strongly recommend it. Everytime we leave my kids play vacation at home for weeks and ask when is the next time we can go back!!

I also want to give a shoutout to BEN he is amazing! It all started out last year. Our family is growing every year so we knew we wanted to upgrade to a bigger cabin for this summer so he took the time last year after our vacation to show us inside a few cabins because we we unsure if we should stick to our original cabin we rent or if we should upgrade to something bigger and because he seriously took 20 mins out of his morning willingly when he saw us driving around looking at other cabins and offered to take us inside them and look around to a few them. We went from staying at the yellow jacket cabin to the drone cabin major upgrade but well worth it!! Also when we started vacation this week we called him what seem like a 100 times because we decided to add a boat and tube and asked him how to hookup the tube but no matter how petty the question he was always happy to help us. He felt like a friend by the end of trip! My kids loved seeing ben everywhere he is out and about making sure everything is running smoothly and everyone is happy! Thanks Ben for making our family trip so memorable and ensuring it was amazing! Now the count down begins for...

My husband and I recently used their venue for our wedding. Things started out rough when we showed up for my husband to see the venue (14 months before the wedding-2 months after we paid our deposit) and we were told that our wedding day had been double booked and we needed to find another date or location. Not the best since we had paid deposits and booked all our other vendors. They did make amends for double booking. However my husbands parents had issues booking their cabin, and it wasn’t until my husband wrote a review that we actually got a phone call back. We live in Rochester and at times coordinating day of details was difficult. For example, the month before the wedding on our final review/planning meeting the coordinator took a phone call from another bride and was on the phone for an hour. Nor did she write a lot of details down. For example the time we had set to decorate the day before the wedding the coordinator came late. Unfortunately not on time for any meetings. If you’re a bride/groom-write/save everything. Especially for the charges. Day of details were missed -candles weren’t lit, dessert put out early/not refilled, no assistance with guest parking, a boat if the parking lot blocking spaces. All details that were discussed and confirmed but not carried out. We wish they would recycle. The venue is beautiful ,and our guests loved the cabins and atmosphere. Our day was perfect because a tribe of family and friends stepped in! My family and friends helped with parking, lighting candles, opened wine, and served coffee. We hope changes are made because it’s a beautiful venue for a wedding.Changed the review to one star-after reaching out to the owners. Instead of entertaining a phone conversation I received an email being called “childish” and this was after receiving unprofessional...
