We have never encountered such an accommodating camp host! Larry and his dogs, Daisy and Diesel, are welcoming and go above and beyond to make the stay at Rim Campground a fabulous experience. When we got there on August 5, 2021, there was a mosquito infestation due to recent rains. When we first got there, Larry asked if we had any bug spray and we said we did not. He went into his RV and came out with a can for us. When we asked if we could stay an extra night, he also went out of his way to rearrange schedules and let us stay although we had not reserved it in advance. The camp sites are kept very clean and we will definitely be back. Thank...

Wonderful little campground right on the Mogollon Rim. It has no hookups, pull-ins, or anything that would attract families with RVs, 4-wheelers, or even trailers really. We camped in our tent for two days and saw no one other than our group (4 people, 2 tents). We did see a number of RVs drive through to see if there were hook-ups after the RV site down the road - by Woods Canyon Lake - filled up, we hiked down that way and it was all ice machines, soda machines, toilets and all the other things that are not really part of camping. Easy access to the General Crook Trail and amazing views from the Rim less than half...

At this elevation you can see a long way. Breath taking views! Even if you are just coming up for the day, the views are worth it. The narrow gravel road is well maintained.

The first day was the best, the wind calmed, 60° perfect for camping, hiking and stargazing. Next morning the icy wind picked up to 15-20 knots and stayed that way, weather app showed 34° wind chill.

The sites seem well used and mostly clear of trash, some people just can't pick up after themselves. There was 2 other campers, a 5th wheel by the entrance and 4x4 truck+teardrop off in the distance...

It's an ok campground, but there are way better ones in the area. Pros: Easy to get to. It has a restroom, and the spots are relatively spacious. Camp host is great as always. It's close to the rim and the rim trail for nice lookouts and a good hike Cons: It's windy this close to the rim which means it's colder and less enjoyable. The fire pits are nice, but you shouldn't use them in the heavy wind. And the worst part is that you hear traffic from the highway at all times.

This is a great campsite. My wife and I were just looking for a first come first serve place and the previous four campsites we checked out were full. Thankfully this spot has three left and we took it. And we're so glad we did. It was a really nice relaxing weekend and the campsite was pretty big, has a bathroom, and a nice fire pit. Also the camp host was really great.
