My high school had a retreat which everyone thoroughly enjoyed! The campground featured an extensive path network, including 2 hikes, one is about half a mile, the other nearly 2 miles and are both very fun. The shorter one leads to a natural waterside while the longer one leads to a cave system. The campgrounds also feature a volleyball, basketball, and inclosed human foosball area with 2 long rows of cabins for both girls and boys. The camp is enjoyable to traverse and especially at night and includes a large campfire section with s’mores. The camp staff also sell snacks and have available free restrooms near the dining hall which has great inclusive for dietary restrictions meals and acts like a college experience. There are also extra picnic tables and a foosball, beanbag toss and other interesting, fun outdoor games, outside. In general it was great experience that cultivated an inclusive and chaotic atmosphere that ranged from arts and crafts to dodgeball and bubble ball in the huge open meadow and warehouse converted into gym, and even the rec/game room that featured pool and...
Read moreUPDATE after hosting my first event: We hosted our first men’s weekend this 9/8-10. For our weekend we had 100 attendees, and two other groups combined with another 100. The camp can sleep around 230 total, and was plenty big enough for three groups to co-exist without feeling crowded. Facilities were well kept (they actually emptied trashcans in our meeting room several times), food exceeded expectations, staff was friendly, and pricing is competitive. At 6k feet it’s still warm during the day for an hour or two, but once the sun slides behind the trees, it begins to cool, and the evenings were cool enough in Sept. to still have nightly bonfires. Did I mention, they have an awesome paintball field if you are looking for something to jazz up your time there. We had over 40 guys play, over 3 hours, and the camp staff Emceed the event to perfection while keeping the equipment working throughout. Looking forward to many more events to come. I’ve done the rest, this may...
Read moreI have been here two times (in a decade) with my Christian camp both summer and winter time.I can say that over the years they have improved their food options. It is only about two hours away from Phoenix,Az. However,it is a whole different world of beauty to behold in the winter time.It is a winter wonderland during the winter months. If any churches go with their youth in the winter time.I definetly recommend this place. The food is not the greatest, however it is still worth it to go.It is definetly cold in the wintertime. It goes down in the low 30s..(so dress warmly). It snowed a lot in this year and plenty of snow to make a snowman. The trees are dressed in snow (a beauty to behold). It is peaceful there and away from city lights. At night you can view the milky way clearly. The stars look so clearly and beautiful and night. I am not paid to review this ,it is my honest...
