North Rivers Lodge has many amenities and would be attractive to a wide variety of customers. If your interested in a quiet scenic settling along the Little Manistee River this is the place for you. If you are an aspiring fly fisherman or a professional, this is the place for you. If your just looking to get away and read a book, this is the place for you. And I hear in the winter its a great place for snow-mobilers.
The proprietors are wonderful people who do their best to make sure your stay is exactly what your looking for. The accommodations in the cabins are rustic, but not lacking. All the pots, pans, and dishes you could ask for, with full kitchens and baths. Clean sheets and towels on the beds and in the bathrooms. There is a playground with a volleyball net as well. There are also lots of board games in the cabins themselves. At night every cabin has an outside fire pit perfect for a fire.
If your into fishing there are many great rivers and lakes up here with world class fishing. I watched Joe, the proprietor fish as he does apparently every night and it was more worthwhile than the hours of videos on youtube i had watched before on how to do it.
I came up here with the men in my family to have a relaxing time and we certainly did. We hope to make this a yearly trip, it was truly that great. Good for couples, groups, families, weddings (their was a wedding here while we were here) and...
Read moreJust left North Rivers Lodge after a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. If you're looking to unplug and reconnect with nature, this rustic retreat is an absolute gem. The cabin had the perfect blend of comfort and charm. It was clean, and had a full kitchen and outdoor charcoal grill. The cabin we stayed in this time was The Grayling. We started each morning off drinking our coffee while overlooking the Little Manistee River and watching the orioles, hummingbirds, and various other birds at the feeders. I'm fairly certain there was an Indigo Bunting on the feeder one morning too.
The fly fishing right next to the cabin is a truly added bonus for my husband. There are many other places to venture out to fly fish, hike, and kayak in the area. Every evening ended with a relaxing fire under the stars. The hosts, Joe and Lisa, are friendly, responsive, and clearly passionate about maintaining this little slice of paradise. We always look forward to coming back every chance we get. Highly recommend North Rivers Lodge for anyone seeking a peaceful escape with incredible outdoor...
Read moreMy large family just returned for a three-day stay at NORTH RIVERS LODGE in Luther, Michigan. We needed a lot of bedrooms and we rented both lodges. The rustic atmosphere was really great. The rooms had a variety of bed(s) combinations and everybody liked their rooms. It was kind of like "roughing it" with style. The bathroom was large and had everything we needed. We had family ranging from one year to into the 70's. It was wonderful to be together and relax. Some of the group members got a personal one on one lesson in fly fishing from a visitor. It was really neat to watch. The staff was great. They told us to let them know if we needed anything. I can't fully describe how much this vacation was fun and healing. We had a recent death in the family, and being together in such peaceful surroundings was the best medicine. I look forward to visiting North...
