Apex Lodge and Charters — Hotel in Pelican

This is a great place to fish. I've been to many lodges before, both in Alaska and the Queen Charlottes and this is the place you want to go. If you like caching lots of fish, eat great food and experience a really terrific staff of dedicated people that want to help in every way this is the place to go.

The boats are terrific, (2 right now), both are very comfortable and outfitted perfectly for fishing, max. safety and comfort. The management team of Ephraim and Shane do an amazing job of making sure the whole experience is great especially with the goal of catching lots of fish - salmon, halibut, ling cod, black cods, etc.. - and having a good time with their guests.

The chef is first class with an excellent variety of food and dietary sensitivity and will make sure you have recipes of your favorite dishes if you're interested to take home. The lodging staff is also great, keeping everything very clean and neat. When you return to your room from a long day of fishing, it's in perfect shape. They even have your laundry washed everyday so you can travel light and don't have to bring tons of clothes.

This is a smaller lodge with a capacity for 8 right now - 4 per boat, however, they are planning to add another boat in the next year to have an additional 4.

These guys work well together and if you are lucky enough to get a booking take it!! You and your family/friends will have a great time and bring back lots of fish and want to come back...

We have fished with Apex for 4 summers now, and this organization is top-notch in every way. They create a unique experience in terms of the fishing, accommodations, food, transportation, and care for their guests. We always return home with an enormous haul of salmon and halibut (with some bonus black cod and rockfish as well.) Their lodge is located in a prime spot and has spectacular views; the rooms are very comfortable and have every necessary amenity. The meals and dining service are exceptional (I am an unapologetic food snob who is, admittedly, difficult to impress.... and I have been delighted with the quality and originality of the meals!) Ephraim, Shane, and their entire team work together to provide a memorable experience that surpasses every expectation; I wholeheartedly recommend Apex Lodge for anyone who is looking for a life-changing experience...

Alaska in May can be a little chilly if you have ever been there, but when you have as much fun as I did on this trip you don't remember the cool weather. I have been deep-sea fishing several times and this was my first trip to Pelican Alaska with Apex Lodge and Charters, and this was without a doubt, hands down the best chartered fishing trip I have been on. From the newer boats, high-end gear and some of the hardest working Captain's working their butt's off to make sure you catch fish. Thank you Captain Lee! The Lodge was beautiful and overlooking the bay with amazing views including watching whales in the evenings. Very helpful and attending staff with some of the best food that you could find in a high-end restaurant.
