Camped over the July 4th holiday for 4 nights with 4 spots reserved in the West campground. Please note that directions on website will take you directly to the East campground; while the West is a bit further down the road. Signage was not super great to help guide you when you are pulling a trailer and not familiar with the area; sign was immediately by drive no notice given. Roads are equally as confusing within the West campground with some one way streets and others not – once you get a hang of it it’s no thing though.||We loved our spaces in the back of the park – plenty of room and easy in/out for pulling trailers. The pull thru sites and some up closer to the front seem extremely close together with had to get in/out spots due to road and tree placement.||Campground hosts were friendly and did several checks during the day as well as seeing a ranger go thru at least once a day. ||Full hook up sites for $25 so quite the deal. Most sites were gravel pads but fairly level. Dumpsters were all the way back at the entrance of the park instead of spread throughout for easing dumping. You are not able to hang from trees here so no hammocks and such but are able to park boats/extra vehicles in the grassy areas of your site. Easy driving distance to both Roberts Creek lake and Lake Red Rock for water entertainment or to Pella/Knoxville for food,...
Read moreCamped here last weekend. It's a nice campground, well shaded with beautiful mature trees. Stayed with my family, and with 3 little niece and nephews, we decided to stay in the 3 lots between the shower rooms and the playground. ... (except for hearing the noisy drunk people walking back and forth to the bathrooms in the middle of the night) Oh, and if you are tenting, maybe just look for where the security/night lights are before you set up your tent. My tent was backlit all night long from the light on the other side of the playground Oh, and as far as the bathrooms go... They are nice, but are lacking in the cleaning department. The pictures here are right after they supposedly "cleaned", twice, in a short time... Sorry, didn't get pictures of the...
Read moreThis county park has full hook for a very reasonable price. It’s easy to camp as a group or individually. ||The campsites are roomier than some campgrounds. But you do need to watch the length and width if you’re a large camper.||The shade is very good here. The only problem is the lack of breeze. When it’s hot and humid, very little breeze makes it through the trees. ||We camp here with friends multiple times per season.||The lake offers very good fishing. Pella and Knoxville are both close by if you need supplies or just want to get...
