Nice park! Hidden gem nestled in the valley, surrounded by mountains. I have been visiting the area for nearly 20 years and only discovered this park 2 weeks ago. Although not spectacular in regards to facilities, the simplicity and geographic beauty of the park make it a very pleasant experience. The park has a campground, picnic areas, playgrounds, baseball facilities and a pool. However, my favorite park feature is the paved walking/bike path which follows along the river. My partner and I love to walk the path, which includes a nice bridge to cross the river. Today was my second visit during vacation to the area. After now finding this great "hidden gem" of a park, I will certainly visit again when vacationing...
Read moreWonderful park close to home. We've been there a few times so far with friends. David is a great camp host. He keeps a beautiful park and goes above and beyond to make sure campers are taken care of and have plenty to do that is family friendly. They do need a ice machine or bagged ice along with a few things campers may need without having to drive to town. Town isn't far but if you are cooking or sitting around the camp fire not having to leave is good. It's at the end of Stone Mountain Trail (part of Spearhead). If the trail was better I believe it would get a better draw to the campground which isn't the fault of the campground. That's a review...
Read moreAwesome campground. Electric and water hookup with sewage drains at all campers camp sites. Primitive camping also available. Very peaceful and quiet camping. Friendly staff, shower houses with exceptionally clean shower and restrooms. Small town of pennington gap within a mile offering restraunts, and stores. Walmart in next town (10 miles) Food city if groceries are needed within 2 miles. There is an atv trail (spearhead trails) at the base of the mountain of the rv park. Basketball courts, sand volleyball available as well. Overall a truley peaceful and serene place to spend the weekend...
