Though its location is good and there aren't lots of options in the area for chain hotels, the hotel itself is dated didn't feel worth the cost. The window had a 1" gap all the way around it where you could see insulation from lack of trim from a window replacement. The carpet was grimy. The bathroom door wouldn't close all the way due to a swollen floor or door making our family have to just tell each other to not go over by the bathroom when someone was using it due to the door still having a 1.5" gap and not able to latch.
We were in room 119 and someone in 118 was smoking pot inside the room for the couple days we were there and the vent system made it come into our bathroom, even when we had the vent fan on to try and make it not come in. That then was complicated, as the bathroom door doesn't close to be able to actually latch, so then the marijuana smell came into the main room, and the smell was in the hallways with no way for us to stop it. Even if we could close the bathroom door fully, we didn't feel it should have to smell so bad. We talked to the front deck on day 2, as we hoped day 1 was a fluke, and the person in room 118 denied it, though the clerk totally agreed with us he was the one after knocking on his door. So no resolve happened. The hotel was booked, so we couldn't change rooms and had to suffer through it until we left today.
The breakfast offered was good and nice to have access...
Read moreWe like the hotel and we've stayed there many times before but our first night this time was not good. Our room was 227 and the heat unit in the room had a very loud rattle to the fan when it was running. I kept turning the temperature dial down (no temperature number, just a hot-cold dial) to see where it was going to turn off to maintain the temperature. It was about 20 degrees outside. I eventually turned it down to the coldest setting on the temperature dial and it wouldn't turn off, so I turned the unit off completely and went to bed. Then I woke up freezing a couple hours later so I turned it back on at full cold on the heat. Still ran nonstop. My husband woke up sweating a couple of hours later and the room was about 80 degrees, so he turned it off again. Thankfully it stayed warm enough for the rest of the night. We did not sleep good at all. We were staying 2 nights and asked to be moved to a new room in the morning after explaining the situation. The desk person did move us and our second night was great. However the ice machine was not working the whole time. It seems like maintenance could be improved in some areas at the hotel. Hopefully either of the 2 desk people we talked to about the heat unit was going to put in a maintenance request for the heating unit instead of just ignoring...

Our room had the hot tub bath. It was full of ample hot water, each time. Sweet!
The sounds of people walking and even banging (dropping very heavy things--like bowling balls??? suddenly, happened both nights) above us are typical of any hotel, as the walls never seem to conceal much sound.
Also, the bedroom was too dark for my tastes. If the drapes could have revealed a light into the room more bright and cheery, I would have opened the drapes. Realizing the goal is to obscure any view from the hallway, it seems that a different, better window product could achieve better illumination. Or try to move the window to the other wall if possible.
Also, the television remote allowed no ability to fit the picture to the screen in the bedroom television, so everything was too big and a bit cut off for the size television screen. And no ability to change the brightness either.
Overall, we really enjoyed the price deal and the comfort of...
