I recently had the wonderful opportunity to experience Lake Michigan Camp and Retreat in Pentwater, Michigan, and I can confidently say it’s a hidden gem worth exploring. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this retreat offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, relaxation, and rejuvenation. The stunning views of Lake Michigan alone are worth the visit. The serene surroundings create an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Whether you’re looking to unwind by the shore or take a peaceful stroll along the beach, this retreat offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained, ensuring a restful stay. The staff’s warm hospitality added a personal touch that made me feel welcome and cared for throughout my visit. Their dedication to making guests feel at home truly stood out. The variety of activities available cater to different interests and age groups. From water sports to nature hikes and group activities, there’s something for everyone. The camp’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and providing opportunities for personal growth is evident in their well-planned programs. Lake Michigan Camp and Retreat is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience that rejuvenates the mind, body, and soul. If you’re seeking a peaceful escape in a breathtaking natural setting, combined with attentive staff and engaging activities, I wholeheartedly recommend this retreat in Pentwater, Michigan.

We stayed four nights and five days in the new "Log" Cabins in the North Camping Area. The cabins were beautiful, dry and comfortable. Two of them had a wall dividing the sleeping area and the dining/living area (#1 and #3), the middle cabin (#2) is one large room. There is a counter with a small refrigerator underneath against the front wall. There are also plenty of electrical outlets so bring your chargers, a "rustic" log table for eating or play cards and somewhat comfortable beds depending on how firm you like your bed. The showers are just a short walk away. There are plenty of activities (basketball, tether ball, biking trails, and mini golf). A narrow beach is just a short hope over the dunes (stairs will take you there) and you will find enough room to set chairs and a beach tent. The staff was courteous and helpful, the atmosphere was restful. Highly recommend this camp for anyone looking to get away.

We had the best time camping here. We loved all the activities they offered, and the location couldn't be beat. The campground was so large, but the sites were very well spread out, so you didn't feel cramped in like cattle. The other campers were all very quiet and respectful too. We were given a heads up that a large family gathering was staying near us and they planned to stay up after quiet hours to sing around the fire. I was a little worried after the warning, but had no reason to be. After camping at state campgrounds I expected a large and loud, rowdy bunch, but that's not at all what we got. The group, along with all the other campers we i teracted with, were very respectful of their neighbors and made it a very welcoming and enjoyable experience. Bonus: I would venture to say they also had the cleanest bathrooms and showers we've come across camping yet.

Lake Michigan camp and Retreat did a great job at accommodating my family and I last minute. Nice sites and the extended “white” tents worked well. There was a miscommunication with our reservation, however they quickly assigned us a tent. We originally were assigned a Green tent (I was not impressed with). We would have made it work, but it ended up next to a family that was having a family Reunion, so staff had us move regardless, which we were fine with. Anyways, after getting our site, we found out our tent was occupied the night before (which with COVID, we weren’t very pleased). There seemed to be many tents available during our stay which I would have thought they all could be rotated better. After returning for the day, we arrived to have “close” new neighbors, that apparently you have to share a fire pit with if you choose to have a fire! (Thought that was odd!). Our neighbors also carried on til late in the night as well. It was just too close...
