I sincerely hope that Chris understands how important his work is. The chance to visit this iconic house is truly unique. The fact that he made the Buffalo Bill’s house available to the public is priceless. Not only he purchased the place, did so much work on it to recreate the original vibe, but also he genuinely wants to share it with us - other fans. I still can’t believe it. I can’t believe I had this chance to go and experience this for myself.
One of the most significant films in movie history, a true cultural phenomenon - “Silence of the Lambs”. Until recently I had no idea you could actually visit the place where the magic was created!
Our stay was absolutely awesome. The house itself is a gem. It’s beautiful, its historic ambience is unreal. We got to walk through every room, see it all with our very own eyes and recreate all of our favorite scenes from the film. We took dozens of photos and had an absolute blast. We got to rewatch the film, sitting in the same room that you could actually see in the movie!!! When I saw that very room on the screen, I thought my heart would explode! 😄
We received a wonderful basket of goodies to remind us about our stay and even the popcorn we enjoyed later during watching the film. Everything was so special and thought out. I travel a lot, I go to lots of different places all over the world. But honestly this was probably one of the best, most magical things I did in my life. I don’t remember being THAT happy. This trip was fantastic. If you are a fan, you must visit this place!
It’s a rare opportunity to experience something like that firsthand. I wish Chris good luck, I hope visitors cherish and help you preserve this magical place. I wish everyone knew how insanely awesome this place is!
What a unique experience.
One of the absolute BEST things I did in life! No doubt. Chris, thank you for your heart and for...
Read moreI didn't stay overnight, I did the tour which at this time is roughly 2 hours, there's a limit to the number of people and I was in a group of about 8 I believe. I'm a huge fan of Silence of the Lambs so the opportunity to tour the house where the "Buffalo Bill" house scenes between Buffalo Bill and Clarice were filmed was of great interest to me. The house has changed some, I don't want to give away too much because I greatly enjoyed my time there, but if you watch the movie and those specific scenes then visit the house, it's really amazing. There's still very much outside and inside that is the same, some things from the movie, inspired artwork, and the newly completed recreated "pit" which is really well done. The tour is done by the owner, who does a fantastic job and allows photos and videos of the tour, also some spots for you to recreate certain scenes for yourself if you'd like. This is all meant for fun, and the people in my group were good sports. It was great fun but it gave me a very different perspective of some scenes, which I love. The basement is a little different than the movie, since some was filmed elsewhere. The house is quite large, the upper floors were not used for filming but can be seen on the tour and are the sleeping areas for the overnight stays. There's other things to see on the property which lends to the history of the house, all is quite beautiful. If you are a movie fan or interested in Pittsburgh film history, please visit this wonderful location, it's a real gem with a great but very small group of people handling it. I feel the price is reasonable and the information I learned, opportunity to ask questions, and fun that I had was...
Read moreThis deserves 100/10 stars!! For starters Chris is absolutely a genius for taking this home and turning it into a horror buffs dream! The booking is an incredibly easy and smooth process and Chris is super helpful if you have any questions or concerns. Now to my favorite part…. THE HOUSE! From the second you pull down the gravel path you feel like you are in the movie, and that’s just the beginning! Once you get your code in the key pad and disarm the security system, you are greeted with some little goodies, popcorn and small little skin lotions! We had gotten a stuffed precious and the Silence of the Jams tea as little souvenirs. The tea is delicious and it comes with a loose tea diffusers too! Each living space is carefully decorated and curated to look like the movie, they did a fantastic job! The bedrooms are each named after movie characters and the themes are great! Super comfortable too. Now folks, THE BASEMENT!!! You can have your own Buffalo Bill fun in the recreated room filled with kimonos and wigs while “Goodbye horses” serenades you in a disco ball glow. Plus you can recreate your own moment in the well, yup they made the well from the film! Even with precious and a basket with the lotion! I will say two nights was not enough time! We played in the arcade/ movie room and enjoyed coffee on the porch watching the trains go by each morning. We can not wait to book out next stay at Buffalo Bills House! Again Chris and his family really knocked this out...
