We go to Fiddlers all the time when we go fishing and camping during hunting season. We ate dinner there Saturday March 13th 2021 My husband ate the seafood platter and I had blackened grouper. The service was good but his seafood platter was greasy and my blackened grouper was blackened with no seasoning! We didn’t complain as we thought nothing of it and maybe next time it will be better. When we left restaurant at 6ish this is before the buffet starts as well, we got back to campsite and my husband starting throwing up and had diarrhea all through night. Monday I called Fiddlers and spoke to man who answered and told him what happened and that my husband got really sick from seafood platter maybe from oysters. He said he was sorry and he would tell his General manager. So needless to say it is Wednesday the 17th and he is still sick. We Have heard nothing back from the new GM!!! We have heard they have new owners and a new cook who obviously don’t have clue about preparing seafood properly! I asked if anyone else has got sick and called who had seafood platter and he said no. I suggested that this is a Heath issue and they should be concerned for the people they serve food to! He said he was very sorry about this matter which I know is not his fault but the NEW OWNERS NEED TO LEARN ABOUT COOKING SEAFOOD SO PEOPLE DONT GET FOOD POISONING!!! It is sad because we used to go all the time and we WILL NOT BE BACK!! Their lack of concern for my husband has left me extremely upset! He has missed work because of this!!! So we will enjoy all the other restaurants like Roys and Kathy’s crab shack and our family will not be at Fiddlers restaurant again!!! This is sad because we spent ALOT OF MONEY THERE when we came to town!! FYI if anyone goes to Fiddlers don’t order Seafood PLATTER...
Read moreAfter a long day of scalloping our party of six was very hungry and ready for a nice meal. On Saturday August 9, 2014 we arrived at Fiddlers at 7:15 p.m. We were told it would be a 35 to 40 minute wait. We decided to wait it out standing at the bar. At around 8:00 p.m. we noticed that a party next to us seated themselves down at the bar tables and then were promptly waited on by one of the bartenders. We went up to the hostess to ask what the deal was and she told us, "oh the bar is first come first serve seating...the bartender should have told you that." Well, I think the hostess should have told us that. Anyway, we were past our wait time and she said we should be seated shortly and they had two waitresses quit that night and they were short staffed. We went back to the bar for more waiting. We were not seated until 8:30. Total wait time for a table...1 hour 15 minutes. We would have never waited this long if we knew it was more than the promised 35 to 40 minutes. Our waitress greeted us in a normal amount of time and took our order right away. Our salad and appetizer came out at a normal speed. Then more waiting. It was now 9:45! We asked the waitress how much longer it would be and she said she did not know and the kitchen was very backed up. As a group we decided to stand up and promptly leave. We asked for the manager on the way out to explain what happened and she made no effort at all to remedy the situation. This is by far the absolute worst service I have experienced in a restaurant. If you are staying in Steinhatchee I recommend that you bring food to...
Read moreWe rented 3 units from Fiddler’s at the Steinhatchee Landing Resort. Our units were 7, 8, and 9 of the Victorian House. The space and location on the property was great. The actual building and inside the building was not. The place is falling apart, it needs so much work. The outside and deck areas were not even functioning and inside was gross. The carpet needs to be completely ripped out. There are stains EVERYWHERE. I didn’t even let my children walk around without shoes on. They do not provide any type of cleaning products, so if someone spills something on the carpet, oh well, it’s there to stay. No cleaner to spray down your kitchen countertops and only one roll of paper towels, toilet paper, and 1-2 garbage bags. My main issue was how filthy the entire place was. I would never stay here again and am very skeptical of any properties that Fiddler’s manages. The only positive I can say is that when we communicated with one of the managers, Shelby, she was wonderful. She cared about our complaints and tried her best to make things right. She did come right over and bring us some kitchen towels and dish soap when we arrived because we didn’t have any and she came over before we checked out to hear about our issues. Another major problem was the washing machine in unit 9 was broken our entire week and I found a review on another site from a year ago that said it was also broken. That’s a bit of a problem with a family of four who are out scalloping all week and really need to wash towels...
