I don't usually write reviews, but I just feel like it needs to be shared. My fiancé and I, and my mother and bonus dad, have stayed in the family cabins for 3 years now for our annual motorcycle trip. The 1st year it was a reasonably priced and centrally located cabin for us and for our riding adventures (bonus that they have hot tubs.. great after long days on a motorcycle); upon arrival, we loved the cabin: peaceful, private, not a lot of rules...and all the firepit firewood you want....for free. Fast forward 3 years and the gentleman that owned the cabins has deeded it to his children...and they have done nothing to upkeep nor maintain the properties; not to mention that we had a fire 1 evening, we got maybe 6 or 7 pieces of firewood but we were told that we owed for a wheelbarrow full of wood (they have priced it at $1 per piece of wood...🤯🤬). Half the grass isn't cut, the kitchen is not stocked hardly with anything, washers and dryers don't work very well, if at all, mold issues are evident, light bulbs need replaced/installed in almost every room, the steps and hand rails going into the cabins all need repaired and/or replaced, the window air conditioners are in desperate need of maintenance and there is almost no seating on the front porch. Very disappointing to see these wonderful, rustic cabins being left to rot (they just need a little TLC and general maintenance), but It seems the new owners/heirs are only trying to make a quick profit and nothing else. We understand that our annual trip of 2-4 nights might not break the bank, but unfortunately we will not be back and will be forced to find somewhere else to stay for our...

I don’t normally write reviews but I just can’t help myself on this one. I’m hoping this will help the next guy who is thinking of staying here. Whatever you do, just drive by it’s not worth it. Trust me.

First of all, the bed was broken & was held up by blocks. It was beyond dirty, flies everywhere you looked. The floors was beyond disgusting!

Here’s where it gets good..We ended up leaving & we wasn’t able to get our money back. After I told the lady what was happening she responded with “Most people don’t get on the floor & crawl around looking for things”. If I wanted to crawl on the floor then I’ll do just that. I paid for it. I was checking it out before I brought my stuff in. Who doesn’t? So, that’s my fault I discovered the creative craftsmanship regarding the bed.

Next, she told me “I could of canceled all together ahead of time”. Why would I cancel after I booked/planned on coming? Yes, we’re thinking the same thing. What a response, huh? I decided to post on there Facebook page, the lady comments on it with screenshots of exactly what I had already done said? Pretty professional though. Later on, the post is gone & I am blocked..

Listen, all I’m trying to do is save you money & time. Don’t stop here. It’s not worth it.

Also, she later told me on Facebook before blocking me, she knew about the blocks but 12 hours before, she knew nothing? But don’t be alarmed, she did inform me they are nice/clean blocks though. Yes, just what I always wanted.

I...

My girlfriend and i stayed in the Motel room number 1 on May 12,2019. We arrived very late (after 1030) and had no other recourse but to stay in this room as there is no cell reception and the office of hotel was closed

It was an absolute nightmare. It looked decent from a far and i can see how the pictures match the rooms but with a little closer inspection it is far from clean and tidy. Ignoring the hodgepodge of linens and sheets and towels, There were two queen beds in the rooms. We went to lay on one and it flipped up. The bed was broken or something so this bed was unusable. We went to the other bed and pulled back the sheets and the bed sheets were covered in crumbs of various types-it hadn’t been cleaned since when who knows. Changing sheets from one bed to the other was out of question as the mattresses look like they may be original ones from when this motel opened.

It was so gross. Had it not been down pouring and my truck cab wasn’t packed it would have been a cleaner and more restful night sleeping in my truck. My girlfriend emailed the owner about our experience and was ignored.

I am not sure how anyone could recommend this place. It was the worst accommodations i had ever been in and how the state of West Virginia allowed this place to pass board of health regulations...

It has a fire place inside but they have all the wood u need 4 it(its already chopped 4 ya) plus stone grills & mini grills outside 4 any1 2 use. 2 rooms with doors &a loft area on 2nd floor. Master room has queen size bed. Other room has full size/ double bed. Loft area has 2 twin size beds & 1 full/double bed. Cable(dish network)& flat screen tv, couch, loveseat & lazyboy type chair in living room. Such a chill & layed bak area. So peaceful. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND GOING HERE!

Our room was clean and spacious. The bedroom is separate from the living room. But the walls don't go all the way to the roof. So a light in the living room can be seen in the bedroom. Any noise from another room including the bathroom could be heard anywhere in the cabin. While there were instructions posted for many things, there was nothing on how to turn on the heat. My husband finally figured it out. There is a heart shaped jetted tub, but no directions on how to turn it on. There was plenty of hot water to fill the tub. But it takes a long time to fill the large tub. There is no shower. Not even a hand held one to wash my hair. The kitchen has a full size stove and fridge. There are enough plates and silverware for 3 people. If this room was only $75 a night, I wouldn't complain. But it was twice that. I expect more for $150 a night.
